Overall, it was a great experience! There were a few things that personally weren't my favorites. I didn't care for the bourbon honey or the ribs. To me it tasted like bourbon mixed with honey. In the ribs were dry. That said, my husband absolutely loved the sausage and the chicken, while my favorite was definitely the brisket! The service was amazing--friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The ambience was also really nice and had a warm, friendly feel. The only downside I noticed was that the bathrooms definitely needed some attention. In the AM.. no excuse. The changing station for baby's was broken (I'm a mom) and there was blood in the sink. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed trying everything. I always appreciate being able to give an honest review--because not everything is going to be everyone's favorite!
Food excellent Service top notch Ambiance is like going to a speakeasy and gaining permission to come in. We have eaten here several times on Sundays before UL games and being surrounded by CARDS fans and this ambience is to die for do yourself a favor check it out.
"Doctor, doctor, give me the news I've got a bad case of lovin' you" (Robert Palmer) Doc Crow's two locations (Indianapolis and Louisville) specialize in Southern cuisine, so you'll see pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, gumbo, pulled pork, brisket, ribs, okra, and jambalaya on the menu. Four of us had an excellent experience for our dinner in Louisville, and besides the food, a lot of that experience was due to our server, Julie. She was great, super friendly and professional, and expertly answered a ton of Bourbon-related questions from my Bourbon loving friend. My wife and I dove into the Southern theme and had a Pulled Pork Sandwich ($16), Southern Colada ($16), Fried Green Tomatoes ($10), and a Southern Gumbo ($10) for dinner. I ordered the Fried Gren Tomatoes to share with the table, and they were wonderful - "Five full moon green tomatoes fried in cornmeal and panko, topped with fresh chives and served with Doc's Remoulade". They were light as a feather, most definitely non-greasy and had a great crunch from the panko and cornmeal. My Southern Gumbo (A hearty stew filled with andouille sausage, chicken and vegetables in savory Cajun broth served over rice. Served with cornbread) was excellent. Great flavor, great spice, plenty of sausage and chicken, and excellent accompaniments in the rice and cornbread. And how could I not mention my Southern Colada, with Michter's US*1 Sour Mash, Pineapple Juice & Coconut. It was quite a bit stronger than any Colada I ever had, but I guess that can be expected when you use an 86-proof small batch Kentucky whiskey in your Colada. Of course, I loved it. This was our second visit to Doc Crow. We were there a few days ago as the first stop on our Louisville food tour and enjoyed a delicious bowl of shrimp and grits. The Doc sure treated us well. PRO TIP Be sure to check out the Doc's jaw dropping collection of bourbon bottles that seem to dominate the various rooms wherever you look.
Delicious restaurant with plenty of southern food options at a great price and of course great selection of whiskey! Servers were quick and friendly with great recommendations and casual ambiance and music helped my party of 4 enjoy the dinner!
Stopped at Doc Crow's since it seems to be a popular spot. Upon walking in, it doesn't seem big but there's an additional space after the first section. The restaurant includes a long row of bar seating that extends to the other end of the restaurant, so there was no problem for me to find a seat on a busy day. I ordered the Mac n cheese and braised greens, and the Mac n cheese was really good and creamy. The braised greens were just okay, it wasn't the best greens I've had and it could use extra flavor. I don't know if this is a thing they do at Doc Crow's, but in my opinion the bartender excessively kept asking me what I wanted even while I was still looking at the menu. This definitely frustrated me since it was clear that I wasn't ready yet. I think she should have done a better job reading my cues to figure out when I am ready to order.
We were due for an underwhelming experience, and I'm at least partially to blame for not having a dinner spot lined up beforehand. My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I spent most of the afternoon on a bourbon tour and a post-tour distillery so...food was needed. And quickly. In our mild defense, we didn't really know how the day was going to go or when we were actually going to have dinner, which made it a little tougher to pre-plan, but no research went into this at all and we paid for it. We wrapped up our bourbon adventures at the Angel's Envy distillery probably five or six blocks from here. Instead of being grownups and doing at least a quick/impromptu recon for spots, we literally just walked outside and down W Main St until we hit something. And we hit this, which was right on the edge of the main tourist area, pretty much Louisville's equivalent of the Times Square/MSG area. And as someone who works and used to live in NYC, you'd have to do a lot of convincing to get me to eat in that particular area - it's overpriced and the food/service just tends to not be very good, which makes you wonder what the appeal is for tourists beyond the convenience. But regardless, it's always struck me as an odd way for a tourism spot to put its best foot forward (or not). Doc Crow's is enormous, and when we were brought further into the restaurant to our table, I think we literally walked through three or four large rooms and navigated through multiple passageways. If you told me this place took up an entire city block or close to it, I'd believe you. Beyond the size/scope, there's nothing really distinctive that separates it from the myriad of other restaurants you'd expect to see catering to out-of-towners. It was the Friday evening of Memorial Day Weekend, so a place that I suspect is usually pretty busy was even busier and louder than that. Maybe not the greatest recipe after a bourbon tour, but who can say. On the app front, we got the Crispy Salmon Bites, which were fine. Not an item I typically see on a menu, even one with more of a seafood bent. I thought the cornmeal/panko breading was the right call; I'm a big catfish aficionado, so I'm of the opinion that cornmeal is underutilized, at least in the Northeast where I come from. Otherwise, nothing really mind-blowing there; probably would have made sense for it to be a different type of fish given the prep (I think salmon is best raw in a sushi roll or grilled), but it could have been worse. I don't think a ton of thought went into this on my end, but I went with the full rack BBQ ribs, along with a side of mac n' cheese. Again, okay, though not as flavorful as I would have hoped and I thought the ribs were on the dry side. Not their fault, but I always regret getting the full rack in hindsight because ribs have a deceptively significant amount of meat on the bones and a half rack is a very decent portion by itself; I am a work in progress just like everyone else. The mac n' cheese was also pretty dry, which I think you can see pretty obviously in the accompanying picture. Tasted and felt reheated at least once or twice. The service was pretty efficient given how busy it was, but our waiter was just on robotic autopilot. Not remotely personable and everything I said to him was responded to with, "For sure, for sure." Maybe he was having a rough night to start the holiday weekend, but it felt like he was just going through the motions and just checking off some boxes there. I went into this already predisposed to not like the generic tourist trap places, so grain of salt. But my recommendation if you have the time/bandwidth (now that I'm a cagey Louisville vet) is to bypass this area if you can and find something tastier and more interesting in the Highlands neighborhood. That's where the real ones are.
100 percent yes to the shrimp po boy. Shrimp was perfectly battered and fried. Really good size. Comes with seasoned chips. To be honest, everything coming out of that kitchen looked amazing so I doubt you can get it wrong.
This place was ok. I think if you want to come here to eat with friends then this is the place for you. The place looks pretty welcoming and big. The dishes I chose didn't standout to me. Rockefeller Oysters- rate a 6. A little salty. Baby rack ribs- rate a 4. They weren't fall off the bone but satisfied the craving for a rib. Mac n Cheese- rate a 3. Taste like Kraft and too peppery.
Doc Crow's provides many BBQ meats. We had trio tacos with pulled pork, beef brisket and fish, fried oysters, beef brisket sandwich and Mac&Cheese. Overall it's ok. The meat is not as soft or tender as I want it to be. Oyster is small. Mostly is the fried dough. The food took sometime to come out. Staff was nice tho. They have liquor bottles on multiple shelves around the room as decoration. It's cool but I don't feel it goes with the light the furniture the floor. Give me a feeling of frat house.
I made dinner reservation for Doc Crow's weeks ahead since they were really popular. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were taken to our table right away. The space was huge inside. We had to take a long walk to get to our table. They had a huge bar near the entrance. The dining area where we sat down was so impressive, with all the liquor bottles going all around the walls. We started with the fried oysters. The quantity and the taste of the dish was underwhelming to me, especially for the price of $28. For entree I got the beef brisket. Took them about 20 minutes to bring it out. The brisket had no sauce to it, the plain pieces of meat looked so sad, with couple of pieces of onion and pickles just thrown on top. The onion wasn't even a full piece, lol! The broccoli that came as side dish was actually much better. My family ordered the Mac & Cheese and Doc's tacos. Both were decent dishes. Our server was nice and friendly, did her job well. The restaurant was packed, meaning they were a popular spot for locals. But overall the food and dining experience fell short of my expectations.
Came in for lunch and the first surprise is how totally large this restaurant is, as deep as a city block. While bbq is a feature I had a grilled chicken sandy with a side salad. Good. The lunchtime music is a tad loud (shaking a fist at the clouds) and the vibe is good, feels like a nighttime kind of place. Kind of modest lunch crowd.
The service was great, our server Tara was friendly and helpful answering questions about the menu. My Old Fashioned was perfectly made. The food was delicious. My only complaint is that I was so full I didn't get to order dessert!
Doc Crow's was a very pleasant surprise, a train car style restaurant, long and narrow but full of great surprises. Their raw bar oysters were a great start for our business dinner with pulled pork appetizer for those unaccustomed to raw oysters, and the best part of all was the deserts as pictured to top off the evening. ENJOY!!!
After extensive research in the Louisville area (Yelp, Google, Reddit, Trip Advisor) Doc Crows seemed like a solid choice. Asked if we had reservations and without we were sat in 1 of 2 Kitchen Tables...I blame myself for not speaking up....but these are horrible seats....after placing our drink/app order I wanted to see the rest of the place...MORE than enough seating in back by the windows...looked to be a great view as well....service was very lackluster....had to ask for water consistently....we opted out on appetizers and went with Smoke House Sampler...Ribs were extremely small...from the short end of the rack...dry and overcooked...Pulled pork was solid...Brisket tasted good, but more of a Roast Beef flavor vs. smoked...Sausage was good...had a nice snap to it...Chicken was good, but again it was small....Sides consisted of Mac and Cheese....creamy and good....And some pretty dang good Hush Puppies...My wife asked the server it this is where you stick and treat people that dont have reservations and she insisted it wasn't....I would Never sit people here unless last resort....Upon leaving I chatted with the other guests who sat at the other table and they didn't have reservations as well....Overall ...to travel 1000 miles for average food and low brow Kentucky hospitality it was rather disappointing.... read more

The food here is excellent but the brisket slider and pimento cheese and chips stole the show. The service was quick and efficient. The interior was clean and it's located in an old historic building. I would visit against. read more

Okay but not great. The brisket was dry and cut with the grain. It also had so much smoke it left a bad chemical aftertaste. My friend had dry barbecue ribs. We came here Tuesday after work. I don't recommend this place on Tuesdays. Service was most excellent. read more
We stopped in for lunch at Doc Crow's and it did not disappoint. To start, we had the fried pickles, and I have to say these were probably the best fried pickles I've ever had. The crust was perfectly seasoned and had just the right crunch. We also ordered a dozen raw oysters. They were small and salty compared to the oysters I'm used to back home in Louisiana, but still fresh and well-prepared. For my main course, I went with the smoked brisket plate. The brisket was excellent, tender, flavorful, and smoked just right. The fries on the side were seasoned nicely and had a good crunch to them, which made for a solid pairing with the brisket. Overall, Doc Crow's delivered a great lunch with standout fried pickles and brisket. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Louisville and craving Southern-style BBQ with some raw bar options. read more

Doc's is such a trendy little spot in the heart of downtown Louisville. I had a wonderful time trying a smoke house. Our waitress was very polite and friendly. I ordered the briskest quesadillas which was on point! My boyfriend ordered the jambalaya and my best friend ordered smoked salmon with cornbread. The atmosphere was very nice and southern with a splash of modern; which highlighted our dinning experience. We will most definitely be back for seconds when we fly back out from CO to KY in the future. read more

So really a 2.5 stars. But yeah. Overrated. I was so excited to try and I was disappointed. I went on a Monday at 3pm and it was empty yet we were being constantly rushed to order so the person could be cut. Switch servers that's fine!! We had 3 drinks in and on the table. Drinking talking etc. I hadn't seen this person in a while so we chatted a minute ...in a emptyyyy restaurant keep that in mind. So as the 1hr45 min situation went on we ordered after serves switched out. For my sister she got Shrimp and grits; 2/5 stars not flavorful. Not sear on the shrimp. Soupy. It was weird kind of. And I got the platter which comes with no sides cuz I wanted some thing protein heavy and I wanted to nibble on a variety of their items. Everything was mehhh except the chicken which I got hot. The brisket was dry, the pulled pork I just sent back because it was half fat literally scooped it off my plate and showed the server. But I swear she brought back pulled chicken cause they were completely different colors. I'm genuinely convinced it was old food. The bread was just bread and that honey bourbon was too much. The sausage was okay. Had good snap. But overall wouldn't recommend. Also when we did order after harassment lol it took foreverrrr. Which is crazy because no one was in there. We paid our dues and we left. Also no parking so there's that. Even MORE money. The ambiance is cute. Shot gun style restaurant so you can't see it all at one time. Also I'll add our switched server didn't make the food. She was great, polite, and patient. Overall disappointed. $100 byebyeeeeee read more
A nice no frills place to go for some southern food. Shrimp and grits: 9/10 Delicious! One of the best I've had. The sauce is so good and really adds a great flavor to the grits. There was plenty of shrimp and sausage pieces, so I felt it was worth the price. The grits by themselves were fairly plain but with the sauce it was phenomenal. Texture was decent too. Baked beans: 9/10 Yum! I loved baked beans! These were great. Braised green: 2/10 Way too sour. I barely ate them. Wouldn't recommend. Cornbread: 2/10 So disappointing!! They were so dry I only ate half of one. Bread Pudding: 8.5/10 So tasty! I think if there was a little less liquid so it was a bit crispier it would be good. Also I think ice cream would be better than whipped cream. Overall very tasty. The warmth of it was so spot on too. Overall, enjoyed my meal. Some great items and then some lousy ones, but the great ones outweighed! read more
I'm not sure how long they've been running their brunch service but based on today's experience, it seems like it still may be new. Upon arrival, we waited nearly 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge and seat us, despite having made an advanced reservation. However, the server was understanding about our frustration and apologized for being understaffed. From that point out, she was attentive, and the service rebounded from the initial disjointedness. I ordered a macchiato, and she brought it over quickly; it was strong and hot, so two thumbs up. She took our food order quickly as well, and the food came out with a reasonable wait time. I got a Build your own omelette with tots -- the omelette was hearty and balanced, and the tots were salty and crispy. The best part of the meal was the biscuit that my boyfriend ordered. It was more like a biscssant (biscuit + croissant), being so buttery and flaky on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside. It's very dark and moody in the bar area, and then there's a more brightly lit dining area in the back. We were seated in what felt like a hallway by the kitchen, which wasn't the best experience but there weren't many other people seated near us so it did feel somewhat private. I'd maybe return in a few months to try the Hippie Hash, once they figure out the staffing issues. read more

Skylar is great! Such a good spirit! Question, does "smoked" mean unseasoned?! Bc everything was tasteless and dry, honestly. Maybe I'm not a beef rib type of gal (very possible!). I was just chewing. Lol! The gumbo was good. Be careful with The cornbread loaf, it's flakey but has a lovely flavor. Keep your water nearby. The greens were perfectly leafy with a kick but WAY too much vinegar; felt like I was in a sodium high. Need lots of water. Couldn't even finish. The baked beans had a lovely flavor too. I've never had baked beans with a white bean; the texture threw me off but it was good. The toast, pickle, sweet bbq sauce, and the andouille sausage were my favorite. Truthfully, I don't ever have to eat here again. Sorry! read more

We were skeptical about the place because of the reviews and when we got there, it wasn't very busy. But the staff was very friendly. The restaurant was very clean. There was great music good ambience. We can say we did not have one bad thing to eat there. Everything was outstanding not only did our waitress check on us multiple times, but we believe one of the managers stopped by to check on us as well. We really enjoyed our experience, especially for not being locals. read more

More than 3500 whiskeys in stock. Wrap your head around THAT. We dropped by for a light dinner. I ordered their Pulled Pork Sandwich with chips, and my wife had their Shrimp Po Boy with chips. I had one of their drink specials, which was quite refreshing. The pulled pork was quite good. Each table has salt, pepper, ketchup and barbeque sauce, so I was free to sauce as much as I wanted. My wife enjoyed her Po Boy! Look around the room - they have more than 3500 bottles of whiskey around the restaurant, with ladders to go get them. Service was attentive - our water glasses stayed filled. The general ambiance is bar food - which is pretty good. The bathrooms were also clean and well-kept. read more
This place looks great but falls short on service. Our waitress forgot to bring us our food and by the time it reached our table everyone's brisket was cold and a little dry. Coffee was also cold. Overall everything was ok but the lack of concern or follow up from our waitress made the whole experience frustrating. read more

After a day on the road and hitting some distilleries, I was in the mood for a great meal. I was looking for something along Whiskey Row as it was near my hotel. I ended up at Doc Crow's as it's a Southern Smokehouse. I have a love for southern food, and I was not to be disappointed. I started with their Smok'n Wings which is 8 wings which I had dipped in their Doc's BBQ sauce. They were outstanding. Perfectly smoked and not too much sauce. It was the perfect balance of flavors. They were certainly some of the best smoked wings I've had away from home. I had their Fried Prok Chops for dinner listed under their Southern Specialties. There were two fried pork loins, with sausage gravy, scallions, and red skin mash potatoes. This meal absolutely hit the spot. This was a southern meal I was looking for. The bar inside was busy and comfortable. The bartender I had was extremely friendly and gave me some suggestions he really enjoys. If I find my self on Whiskey Row again, I will not hesitate to stop by Doc Crow's. If you've never been here, give this place a try. read more

Doc Crow's is a true mecca for smokehouses. The one thing I must say is that the Bourbon selection here is a sight to behold. Whether you're searching for a special dining establishment or just a spot to have a delicious mimosa. From traditional comfort cuisine to contemporary reinterpretations of beloved recipes, this menu offers a diverse range of options. The service was outstanding and had just the right amount of attentiveness to our table, even though the place was somewhat crowded. We started off with the Smok'n Wings, with in-house Doc's BBQ sauce. They were moist and flavorful. The sauce is very unique; they should offer it for sale. There were so many appetizers that I wanted to try, but that is always a reason for a return visit. I, however, settled on the Beer Cheese and Pretzel, which featured another house-specific Crow's Nest Beer Cheese paired with a Bavarian soft pretzel that struck the right balance of soft and firm. We had the deviled eggs, which had the required paprika but also added capers and cayenne pepper, something I will have to try on my own. Deviled eggs are tricky to get right, and most places fail miserably in their attempt. This was not the case; these were, indeed, "par excellence." We moved from the starters to the "Raw Bar," splitting an order of oysters on the Half Shell. Again, the place's in-house cocktail sauce exceeded expectations and went great with bourbon mignonette. We skipped the salad. For the main course, my wife opted for the pulled pork sandwich with toasted bread (which is not "gluten-free" for those who are concerned). I went with the Smokehouse Sampler, consisting of Beef Brisket, baby back ribs, Andouille Sausage, and Doc's Dark Roasted Chicken. However, this platter does not come with any type of side item, but afterwards, I could not have held anything anyway." The Andouille had a smoky flavor and a solid snap when I took a bite, which set it really apart from most other BBQ joints I have been in. Everything had a great smoky flavor that was reminiscent of a campfire and spicy. A great dining experience set right in the middle of historic Whiskey Row, Doc's Crow provides an excellent ode to the father of Kentucky Bourbon, Dr. James C. Crow. Next time, we will make it to the desert. This place is truly worthy of anyone's time and attention if you are in the Louisville, KY area. read more

What a cool spot. Bourbon for days and phenomenal old-fashioned with old Forrester. Food was incredible and Service was really great. We had a large party and they took care of us without any issues. Definitely gotta check this place out when you come down to whiskey Row. read more
after attending the Big 4 Bridge arts festival we cruised over to Main Street and ended up at Doc Crows for an early dinner. We were seated immediately by the hostess who was very friendly and the bartender was our waiter who had to come to the very back of the dinning area, where we were seated to wait on us and we were indecisive. But he was super patient, friendly and helpful especially with my friends beer order. She wanted an amber and he suggested numerous options and she could not decide. He brought her a sample of some kind of ale that she absolutely loved and ordered one. We both ordered the chicken BLT wrap. I came with honey mustard and my friend had that without bacon and I had it with ranch dressing. It was huge and came with a side. It was full of chunks of chicken, lettuce, tomato, bacon and cheese and server with a spinach wrap. We had broccoli and the brussel sprouts as our sides. Both were good, the broccoli was crisp and hot with a mild seasoning. The sprouts may have been the best I have ever eaten. They were seasoned with garlic and bacon and so very good. It is a huge establishment. With multiple floors. We ate and stayed on the main floor. Parking downtown is always a challenge but we found street parking within the block. They do have a stage and live music so I assume it gets much more lively as the evening wears on. Good choice for a downtown dinner or lunch. read more

The wife and I stopped in on a whim for a small lunch--nothing too big, nothing too small--and Doc's hit the spot. We were craving a bit of Southern comfort, and the fried okra and sliders delivered just that. I was also in the mood for some seafood, and the oysters Rockefeller were exactly what I needed--rich, savory, and just salty enough to make that glass of iced tea taste like heaven. A perfect little lunch break. We'll be back. Definitely recommend. Oh and the sliders...you can order 1, 2, or 3 at a time. Also. From the outside this place doesn't look like much to an outsider but once you walk in, you truly see how big the place really is. The place was packed but I was able to grab a seat at the bar no problem. The bartender was attentive and quickly handed me a drink menu and asked me if I would be dining as well. I said yes of course. I ordered a Diet Coke and the smokehouse platter. I added the macaroni and cheese and green beans since it didn't come with sides. The bartender recommended I go with the Tennessee hot chicken so I did. He poured up my drink and we made up causal conversation over the college games that we're currently being played on tv at the bar. About 15 minutes later, my food arrived and I couldn't have been happier. The chicken was juicy and spicy, just enough heat and kick to really give your taste buds an awakening. The sausage was mild and tender, no complaints there. The pulled pork was savory and stringy, i do wish it had a lil bit of sauce on it but it was still good overall. The brisket was devine! The fat on it was just lovely. The ribs were a little dry, but nicely seasoned. Sauce would've done them more justice but none the less, they were delicious. The macaroni and cheese was great all by itself. The cheese ratio was simply top tier. The green beans however were another story. While the bacon bits were a nice addition, the green beans were undercooked and unseasoned. I took two bites and left them alone. Overall, I enjoyed the food and my time here. 4.5 stars. Doc Crow's is still great after all these years. It's still not easy to get a seat during the busier times of the week; or whenever events are happening downtown. We were lucky to have come on a Sunday afternoon when there were no wait and many open tables. We got the Deviled Eggs to start. There were 4 halves for $10!! That price is a bit outrageous...you can stop riding the "egg crisis" wave now. But I will admit that these were delicious. New menu item Jambalaya was 100 and 5 stars!! It is full of shrimp, sausage and not too much chicken. There wasn't an overwhelming smoke flavor for those of us who don't like that. The gravy/sauce was perfectly seasoned and just a bit spicy. I cleaned the plate. Hubby's fried pork chops and mashed potatoes were delicious and plentiful as they've always been. Service was friendly and efficient as usual. We'd definitely come back for more...but will tear ourselves away from those pricey eggs the next time. read more
Traveling for work and wanted something easy. A short walk from the hotel led me to Docs. Fairly simple menu. Plenty of bourbon to choose from. My waitress was attentive and was quick to take my order. Food was good. Wish I had stayed for more bourbon as it's a neat bar with great ambiance. Would return next time to Louisville. read more
Stopped in at Doc Crow's Smokehouse for lunch and had a great experience. I ordered Doc's Chicken with green beans and cornbread, and everything was spot on--the chicken was flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the sides were just as good. The service was friendly and efficient, making it an easy, enjoyable stop. Definitely a solid choice for lunch. read more

In town for a week-long conference, we ate here two nights in a row because it was that good. Busy place, but the bbq is solid, as is all the sides that we tried. On one visit I had the babybacks with braised greens. I gotta say that the southern white sauce really compliments everything. My second visit was all about the smoked wings. Some of the best wings I've had. Had to try the onion rings and fried green tomatoes with this order, and they did not disappoint. While the raw bar looked like it was a bit old the brisket was delicious. It did not have a smoke taste but it was tender. The flight of bourbon was interesting. You get different choices based on how much you want to pay. 6 people in our group, all eating something different. Consensus was better than average dining experience. Was 10 minute walk from Omni hotel. Was 10 minutes walk to riverfront after dinner. Central to this attending conferences. read more

If you're looking for BBQ and Southern fare in a lively, bustling setting, Doc Crow's is the place for you! With many meat and seafood options (there's an oyster bar!), you're bound to find something tasty here. Are you looking for a place to enjoy a low to mid-volume conversation with someone while you eat? This isn't the place! Are you willing to shout a little at times, perhaps sample some bourbon while you're at it? This is the place for that! I ordered the fried catfish, which came with hushpuppies, sauce, and a small side of slaw. I really enjoyed it - a really hearty dish with great flavor! The others at my table ordered things like beef brisket and pulled pork, and had nothing but praise for their meals. This is a really nice spot for a fun hangout with friends, since the volume is already amplified in the restaurant (at least, it can get that way at dinnertime). There’s parking on the street in front of the restaurant and there are some paid parking lots within the immediate area.
Would you say this is a quiet establishment for groups to talk or is there a lot of noise?
Doc Crow's is a nice place and can be good for groups if you plan properly. If it becomes crowded it may become loud.
Are there gluten free options?
Yes--smoked meats are naturally GF and all the sides are a la carte so you can pick and choose.

Yes. Entry into the restaurant is at street level. I don't remember any steps. Getting to the far end of the restaurant may be tight if it's crowded but not impossible.
