We loved the Mac and cheese, my wife is particular about that and this met her standards. The vinegar slaw was perfectly tangy and refreshing. And the sweet potato fries are exactly what you need to dip into those sauces. Get the hot bbq sauce and add the vinegar sauce!! Even as I type I have a nice warmth in my mouth and throat. It made me star dipping everything in the sauce- slaw included!! Burgoo is fantastic!! With a gentle heat, I would get it alone if it came in a big bowl! With so much meat, corn, Lima beans, and carrots but it is the broth (sauce?) that gets you hooked. We had the Ale8-1 Burton slushy, which is sweet and refreshing on a hot day. And for desert we had to try the bourbon bites! Wow! Try to save room. Love the music in the background and casual atmosphere which would be fun for families or friend to meet. Unfortunately, our experience at Feast BBQ was really disappointing food-wise. I've never seen brisket served in thick slices cut with the grain, which made it tough and difficult to eat. The chicken was extremely dry and had an overly smoky, almost burnt wood taste. The only things our group actually enjoyed were the coleslaw and the tater tots. Even the potato salad tasted store-bought and appeared to come straight from a carton rather than being homemade. Most of us ended up leaving a good portion of food on our plates. For the price, it just wasn't worth it. That said, the staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the visit, and they did have a really good selection of beers. I hate leaving negative reviews because the service side of the experience was great -- we were just very disappointed with the food. read more

We were going to go to Doc Crows tonight, but I have been there a few times and wanted to try this place instead - it looked really good on Yelp and their IG page. Definitely glad we checked it out, as the food was delicious. My husband and I split a plate with a few meats on it, including brisket, pulled pork, and one hot link - you can order meats à la carte or you can get a combo of sorts or tacos. My sister-in-law got the brisket tacos and she said they were tasty AF. Out of all of the meats, I liked the brisket the best but the pulled pork was also really good. We also got the pork balls, which was more like balls of meatloaf with barbecue sauce and slaw, and it was really interesting. We got sweet potato fries, but as an appetizer, and it was gigantic, it came with sour cream, which I've never seen before and also some sort of apple butter. For dessert, we got the bread pudding cubes with the white chocolate bourbon sauce, and that was really inventive and also delicious. I also forgot to mention that I got the bourbon slushy of the month, it was mint julep, and that was really good too. Met my family here on Saturday. It was so good I forgot to take pictures! Their plates are generous, their pulled pork is lean (how I like it), and their sweet potato fries are sweet! Underwhelmed. I was in town for a few days and asked around where to get some good bbq, and feast was on the top of many locals list. I went for lunch, arrived around 1:15pm after the lunch rush and was able to order and get our food quickly. First the Mac and cheese balls arrived fresh and molten lava hot! Then came the sandwich. I was excited and hungry not having eaten all day. The brisket inside the sandwich was not hot. Barely warm. The meat was getting harder and seemed like it was sitting. Everyone seems to love this place but I really don't see the hype. I think it's fine, it's a mean, a little more pricey than I would like for the quality, but it is what it is. We came here with my husband's family, it was a group of around 7. We had a picky eater kid with us and had to pick somewhere he would be good to order something, so we settled on it. I have been to feast in the past and enjoyed my visit, which I was expecting this time around. I ordered the brisket plate with a side of tater tots. The brisket was sliced which was great. I tried the hot BBQ sauce and this sauce is just the perfect amount of spice and flavor. While the meat is tender, I don't feel like the meat has any flavor. There's nothing taking the brisket to the next level besides the sauce. I wish there was some kind of seasoning on the brisket that blended well with the sauce for a great experience. I noticed the same issues with the Mac and cheese and tater tots. Each side could use some flavoring to boost its aura. Our large group stopped here during our history and food tour of NuLu and were WOWed with the bourbon slushie with Ale 8 as an ingredient. We also had a pork cake with crunchy creamy slaw placed atop a delicious barbecue sauce. This was a first for everyone and one that we all agreed would be a repeat order in the future. In fact, I'm determined to return here in the next two weeks with friends to introduce them to this incredible food item. When one discovers fire, it is even better when shared with friends. Several of the business' namesake sauces were available at each table -- original, hot, and vinegar. I tried a bit of all 3 and each was wonderful. It came out quickly, so it was very hot. The staff was very friendly and willing to answer questions for people who are not from the area. They suggested we have dessert so we got their bread pudding sticks. This was definitely the highlight of our meal. It's really more cubes than sticks, but they are deep-fried, tossed in sugar and then it comes with a creamy bourbon sauce. Absolutely fabulous. I highly recommend you go ASAP. read more

Nine years since I first wrote a review of Feast BBQ! NINE YEARS! Considering how highly my family and I regard Feast BBQ, it's way overdue for an update. And I can sum it all up like this: loaded tots! Get them piled high with pulled pork. The great BBQ + slaw + green onions + tots (obviously) -- these are pure comfort and stick-to-your-ribs goodness. I can't go to Feast and get anything else. But when I want something in addition to the loaded tots, I go for the fried pickles and an Ale-8 bourbon slushie. Feast BBQ also has online ordering, which we use when we order food while at Akasha Brewing next door. It always makes me happy to see the long tables inside this restaurant full of people. I don't want Feast BBQ to go anywhere. It's the best BBQ in Louisville IMO. read more

We rolled into Louisville and needed a place where we could be dressed casually and fed well. This was the place! There were 6 of us so we went for Big Jim's Platter, adding a green salad, the pork cake poppers, loaded tots, Mac n cheese, baked beans, and slaw. Folks: everything was amazing! Standouts were the brisket (best I've ever had), the hot links, and those pork cake poppers. To quench our thirst we tried the bourbon slushie and the lavender lemonade slushie. Very refreshing. We waited in line to order at the counter (which was fine since we had many decisions to make), then found a table. There is seating both indoors and outside. After what seemed like only a couple minutes, our food was there! Service was helpful, friendly and efficient. I went back to the counter to order the banana pudding, and this was an excellent decision. You can just go ahead and order your pudding when you order your mains. If ever I find myself in Louisville again, I'll be back to Feast BBQ. read more

Both the meats were really good. Not overly smoked with sometimes takes away from the flavor of the meat. The crispy skin of the hot link added an enjoyable bite and flavor. I also tried the mac n cheese and collard greens. Both sides were really good, the collard greens were well seasoned and contained lots of meat.
