We were going to go to Doc Crows tonight, but I have been there a few times and wanted to try this place instead - it looked really good on Yelp and their IG page. Definitely glad we checked it out, as the food was delicious. My husband and I split a plate with a few meats on it, including brisket, pulled pork, and one hot link - you can order meats à la carte or you can get a combo of sorts or tacos. My sister-in-law got the brisket tacos and she said they were tasty AF. Out of all of the meats, I liked the brisket the best but the pulled pork was also really good. We also got the pork balls, which was more like balls of meatloaf with barbecue sauce and slaw, and it was really interesting. We got sweet potato fries, but as an appetizer, and it was gigantic, it came with sour cream, which I've never seen before and also some sort of apple butter. For dessert, we got the bread pudding cubes with the white chocolate bourbon sauce, and that was really inventive and also delicious. I also forgot to mention that I got the bourbon slushy of the month, it was mint julep, and that was really good too. Met my family here on Saturday. It was so good I forgot to take pictures! Their plates are generous, their pulled pork is lean (how I like it), and their sweet potato fries are sweet! My daughter and I weren't super hungry so we split a plate. It was plenty. I also got a cup of Burgoo. I wasn't a fan, but my son ate it up! I've heard such amazing things about this place, and I was thrilled to be in the area to check it out! The restaurant was pretty lively upon arrival but nothing that didn't allow us to order and be seated immediately. The server explained the menus popular items and I ended up going with the suggestion of the Hill Country Holler sandwich! I'm not normally a relish girl but the mustard bbq combo with the pepper relish made a great combination although messy. Underwhelmed. I was in town for a few days and asked around where to get some good bbq, and feast was on the top of many locals list. I went for lunch, arrived around 1:15pm after the lunch rush and was able to order and get our food quickly. First the Mac and cheese balls arrived fresh and molten lava hot! Then came the sandwich. I was excited and hungry not having eaten all day. The brisket inside the sandwich was not hot. Barely warm. The meat was getting harder and seemed like it was sitting. I was hungry and had taken a few bites thinking it might be one piece I was unlucky with. Unfortunately, the sandwich was a let down. This place is absolutely amazing! I started with the bourbon slushy. I got pulled pork and sweet potato fries. My son got the wings and macaroni and cheese. We were both very pleased with our food. It came out quickly, so it was very hot. The staff was very friendly and willing to answer questions for people who are not from the area. They suggested we have dessert so we got their bread pudding sticks. This was definitely the highlight of our meal. It's really more cubes than sticks, but they are deep-fried, tossed in sugar and then it comes with a creamy bourbon sauce. Absolutely fabulous. I highly recommend you go ASAP. read more

Everyone seems to love this place but I really don't see the hype. I think it's fine, it's a mean, a little more pricey than I would like for the quality, but it is what it is. We came here with my husband's family, it was a group of around 7. We had a picky eater kid with us and had to pick somewhere he would be good to order something, so we settled on it. I got the pimento pork stacker sandwich with mac and cheese on the side. The sandwich was disappointing, but the mac and cheese was decent. I like that we can eat outside, and the inside is pretty spacious as well. It's a nice environment. Again, I don't get it. When craving a good plate of meat, Feast BBQ is usually on my list of places to frequent. When it comes to BBQ, Louisville is not short on places to go for a saucy good meal. I have been to feast in the past and enjoyed my visit, which I was expecting this time around. I ordered the brisket plate with a side of tater tots. The brisket was sliced which was great. I tried the hot BBQ sauce and this sauce is just the perfect amount of spice and flavor. While the meat is tender, I don't feel like the meat has any flavor. There's nothing taking the brisket to the next level besides the sauce. I wish there was some kind of seasoning on the brisket that blended well with the sauce for a great experience. I noticed the same issues with the Mac and cheese and tater tots. Each side could use some flavoring to boost its aura. Note that nothing bad here, you will be satisfied with the taste and quality of the food. However I just believe there could be more done to the food to make it remarkable. read more

Our large group stopped here during our history and food tour of NuLu and were WOWed with the bourbon slushie with Ale 8 as an ingredient. We also had a pork cake with crunchy creamy slaw placed atop a delicious barbecue sauce. This was a first for everyone and one that we all agreed would be a repeat order in the future. In fact, I'm determined to return here in the next two weeks with friends to introduce them to this incredible food item. When one discovers fire, it is even better when shared with friends. Several of the business' namesake sauces were available at each table -- original, hot, and vinegar. I tried a bit of all 3 and each was wonderful. Nine years since I first wrote a review of Feast BBQ! NINE YEARS! Considering how highly my family and I regard Feast BBQ, it's way overdue for an update. And I can sum it all up like this: loaded tots! Get them piled high with pulled pork. The great BBQ + slaw + green onions + tots (obviously) -- these are pure comfort and stick-to-your-ribs goodness. I can't go to Feast and get anything else. But when I want something in addition to the loaded tots, I go for the fried pickles and an Ale-8 bourbon slushie. Feast BBQ also has online ordering, which we use when we order food while at Akasha Brewing next door. It always makes me happy to see the long tables inside this restaurant full of people. I don't want Feast BBQ to go anywhere. It's the best BBQ in Louisville IMO. read more

Standouts were the brisket (best I've ever had), the hot links, and those pork cake poppers. To quench our thirst we tried the bourbon slushie and the lavender lemonade slushie. Very refreshing. We waited in line to order at the counter (which was fine since we had many decisions to make), then found a table. There is seating both indoors and outside. After what seemed like only a couple minutes, our food was there! Service was helpful, friendly and efficient. I went back to the counter to order the banana pudding, and this was an excellent decision. You can just go ahead and order your pudding when you order your mains. If ever I find myself in Louisville again, I'll be back to Feast BBQ. read more

Early Friday dinner here was great, it was not too busy when we got there around 6pm. We walked in, ordered at the counter and our food was brought out to us by our table number. The service was OK, mostly self serve since you order at the counter and get your own drinks at the fountain. The inside had some fun decorations, I loved the wall with big Kentucky state outline that showed major distilleries throughout the state. However, the bathrooms were pretty nasty and very dark. Now it's rare that I get blown away so quickly about a BBQ dish, but the pork cakes had me excited and confused all at the same time. What is a pork cake you ask? It is two mounds of pulled pork formed into patties that are fried and topped with BBQ sauce and coleslaw. You would think that frying the pork would dry out the meat. Instead the fried outer shell kept the meat hot and moist. For my main meal I ordered the pulled chicken platter with collard greens and baked beans. All I had room for was the sides and both were delicious. One thing I learned from this experience was that if you come hungry, you still will leave with leftovers. The restaurant does not take reservations. Seating is first come first served, so get there early. read more
