Crispy Veggie Spring Rolls
Nichole E.

I ordered Mongolian Beef and some veggie spring rolls via DoorDash. The beef was really tender and flavorful, and the spring rolls stayed crispy despite the trek through Atlanta traffic.

Pad Thai

I live within walkable distance to this restaurant, and this place is located in a nice, cutesy plaza. There are so many positive reviews (over 1,400 reviews on Google), so I wanted to know what the hype was about. Sadly, I was disappointed with the flavors and what they claim to be. I've never seen a pad thai so colorless and flavorless. It lacked the original Thai spices or flavors, felt like noodles and eggs. I also ordered the thai coconut chicken soup (~$3.50). This had some spices, coconut milk, and bits of white chicken. I cannot believe this was the best tasting thing out of everything we ordered. The Chinese black bean noodles were pretty disappointing. It was just a stir fry with bits of black beans and beef. Usually, when people think of Chinese black bean noodles, I think of jajamyung, a traditional Chinese dish in a black bean sauce (not a stir fry). Overall, it lacked seasoning and flavor- something you could spot by looking at the color. I mean at least the food came hot? As for the service and how the restaurant works, you grab a menu or look at the specials listed on the board. Then, you go up to the guy at the counter and place your order and pay via tablet. You can sit wherever you want with a number indicating your order. You get your own utensils, napkins, and takeout containers. I like that the takeout containers are out for when customers can conveniently need them. Each table has a roll of paper towels and sriracha bottles. I think the guys giving us our food were fairly blunt and unwelcoming. They were confused when giving us our food or somebody else's food, but we know what we ordered. From the outside, it doesn't look like such casual dining. There is a very filled parking lot right at the front of the restaurant.

This place is right in Morningside in a shopping center with plenty of parking. It has a nice screened patio to enjoy your food! You order at the counter and your food is brought out to you! The staff is always smiling here! The food is good depending on what you get, I got a special the last time and have no clue what it was called but it was delicious! They also have beer and sake! If you're in morningside looking for a nice lil lunch, it's worth the try.

Mongolian Stir fry with tofu

This restaurant deserves all the hype! I got the Mongolian stir fry with tofu. It was delicious and I loved that there was such great meatless options :) The dining area was very calm and food came out fast. Great place for a casual meal with family, friends, or coworkers.

Thai Coconut Chicken Soup

I've loved Doc Chey's since I was a little kid! They sadly closed the one near my house years ago so traveling to this one is always the best treat. Their lo mein is genuinely one of my favorite foods in the whole world! Everyone is so sweet there and the food never ever disappoints me. I also tried the coconut soup and it was a shocking mix between spicy and sweet! It was very good too, I'm glad I tried it! But the lo mein is always a must.

Bbq buns ( pass on these)

I stopped by on a random Friday for lunch. The restaurant was basically empty. Perhaps maybe six people tops. I was greeted by a lovely hostess, who informed me of the specials and also check to see if my number was still in the system. It was! I ordered the special and the barbecue buns, which I really didn't like but oh no not to get those again. All my food was delivered fresh and hot. The restaurant was clean and relaxing. Happy to be back after being gone for two years living in Florida. The food here in Atlanta cannot be beat.

Great food and good options make Doc Chey's always an option for lunch or dinner! Takeout is way by ordering on their website.

I want to thank Dave for reaching out and taking the time to understand my concerns about my previous experience. That effort mattered. I recently had the chance to visit again on a Friday evening. It wasn't overly busy, I was seated promptly, and my server was attentive throughout. I tried a few new items along with some of my favorites, including the Korean BBQ Sticky Ribs (hopefully I got that right). This time, I left satisfied with the overall experience, and I felt it was only right to come back and share that update. One thing I will say, Friday evenings seem to be a better fit for me than a midday Saturday visit, especially with how busy the BeltLine can get.

My friends and I embarked on a delicious little tasting adventure, sampling a bit of everything and…read morenot a single bite disappointed. The ribs struck that magical sweet-meets-savory harmony, like a perfectly composed song. The pork bao buns? Pillowy clouds of joy, cradling glossy, sweet glazed pork that practically melted on cue. The dumplings were tiny treasure chests of flavor, so good they didn't even need a dip to shine. And the bibimbap? A layered masterpiece, each bite a new surprise that had me doing a quiet little happy dance in my seat. The ambiance felt light and breezy, with charming wooden booths that invite you to linger... though the seats themselves seem to encourage just a slightly shorter stay. Service, however, was a tale of two moods. Our main server was an absolute gem--warm, attentive, and lovely. But one food runner brought a storm cloud to the table, delivering dishes with an energy that felt more "battle scene" than "dinner service." After one particularly dramatic plate drop, we kindly asked for a different runner. Thankfully, the food worked its magic and kept the overall experience glowing brighter than the brief shadow.

The service was excellent. They have a very nice wine, cocktail, and mocktail list. I had the purple rain, light and bubbly. My friend enjoyed her gingery King's Ransom. The menu is Chinese and Asian fusion, and a short list of sushi. Chinese is always meant to be shared. We had the miso truffle salmon and each of the steam buns to start. I thought the salmon was very good, I do not normally like capers, but liked the way they prepared them. The katsu was probably the best of the buns, nicely crispy. The tofu was good a well, with a nice kick, the young one in our group found it too spicy. I would not order the short rib again, it was fine, but I've had much better short rib. We then had the chicken satay, roti canai, and the miso cod. The chicken satay had good flavor, and paired well with the peanut sauce and pickles. I did find it a bit too fatty. The miso cod was perfectly cooked, and the flavor was just right. Note that it is a very small portion. The best dish was the roti, a yellow curry with chicken and veggies with two flaky peice of roti. So good. The star of the meal though was the mango sticky rice, with sorbet and small bits of mochi. This is one of the best versions I've ever had. Do not miss this dessert! The issue I had with our visit is we, a group of three, were seated by the door, which was also near the kitchen door. The seating felt cramped, and every few minutes one of the doors was slamming, which made it a less pleasant experience. There were also several other tables open that we could have been seated at instead.

We both had off menu specials . Mine included crispy fried seafood all very well cooked, lobster tail, shrimp and scallops crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside all put in a pineapple shell. My friend's included the most succulent lamb chops with crispy lobster tail. My friend and I both enjoyed our food tremendously. Of course we couldn't help but share so we could each try everything. From the appetizers: dumplings and rolls to the drinks and our entrees, everything was tastefully plated and styled. The server was very helpful in giving us her opinions on dishes and all of her recommendations were spot on. She was friendly and service was timely. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated and perfect for a date night or any special occasion. Gratuity is included already at 18% on each bill. You can add more if you desire. For a date night be prepared to spend about $350.

The food came out quickly, and overall it was a really nice evening. Now the bad news. When my girlfriend got home and opened her to-go box, there was a bottle cap inside the container. I'm not sure how it got in there, but it clearly ended up packed in with the food. While the food and service were excellent, finding a bottle cap in your to-go box is simply unacceptable. Because of that, I have to lower my rating to be fair. When you pay over $369.00 for two people you'd expect better. Still a beautiful atmosphere and great for a first date--but I hope they pay closer attention to quality control with takeout orders.

I know there is parking for the shops and restaurants that were closer but I took the first spot I saw. I did like that the restrooms were gender neutral. The tables on the inside are ideal for dates but can easily be put together for larger parties. The outdoor patio is a sight to behold. The outdoor patio can be enclosed in plastic for bad weather. The patio has plenty of plants. The outdoor patio seems to be set up for larger parties. This makes sense since large parties can be pretty loud and having them outside will not bother the inside guests. My server was Gem and she is a blast. She recommended the Coconut Chicken Soup and the Drunken Man Shrimp Noodles. The soup is extremely creamy but it is non-dairy. A cheat code for the lactose intolerant. The soup is full of flavor and I could eat it every day. The Drunken Man Noodles has some what of a kick but not too spicy. I wish it was spicier. The shrimp still has the tail on. Food is good.
