Though it wasn't a true smash burger, the flavors were great. Thoroughly enjoyed it from the meat to the pickles to the sauce. Only thing I'd change would be to try a different kind of cheese. French fries were quite tasty as well, thin cut. Tried the Loaded Tots, It was too salty to know what it really tasted like so I probably just got an off batch. That being said, they weren't really Tots. They were reshaped homefries. That being said (times 2 ha). Their homefries were quite tasty. 25th May 2026 Memorial Day…read moreWhite Plains, NY Partly Cloudy 68°F After the torrential, but much needed rain had postponed our outdoor hiking activities for the major part of the long holiday weekend, it was a soothing reprieve this morning to get out of the house and return to an old reliable favorite. On this somber Memorial day we needed to gather with friends and City Limits Diner was the place to go. I first became aware of City Limits when I saw the documentary of Vogue magazine's, André Leon Alley, who was a frequent customer at City Limits, before the pandemic of 2020 reeled it's ugly head. Somehow I knew, as a newly suburban transplant from Manhattan, it only made sense to visit the place that a worldly Vogue Stylist had dined as my diner destiny! City Limits is one of the most popular diners in Westchester County. You will always feel welcome here, the menu has the usual large array of typical diner menu choices, but with added flair. Every item is good, delicious and fresh. I really like a place that's always full of life, reliably consistent and welcome. Plus it doesn't hurt that a few of my favorite Yelp friends (and RL friends) frequent City Limits as well. :) 5 Easy Stars Thank you!

My husband and I had a very unpleasant experience here a few weeks ago. We live in the area and…read morehave had many meals there over the past ten years. On this day, my husband ordered eggs with home fries. About halfway through the meal, I tasted the potatoes. They tasted kind of stale - like maybe the oil hadn't been changed in a while. Because they didn't bother my husband much (though he didn't finish them), we didn't complain to the waiter. After the meal, we approached the cash register to pay. I said, in a low voice, very politely, "I wanted to let you know something. The potatoes didn't taste great, like maybe the oil was old or something." The cashier stared at me and said in an irritated tone, "Well, did you send them back!?" I said we hadn't. The owner was standing next to her, and he joined in: "Yeah, why didn't you send them back?" in a scolding manner - like WE were at fault. I repeated that we hadn't told the waiter, and the owner replied, in a reproachful tone, "Why didn't you? I mean, I've been in business here for 45 years. It's not like we spit in the food or anything!" We were shocked and disgusted by his crude remark. Why would he say something so repulsive? I've worked in many restaurants over the years and my family also owned restaurants for decades. A good rule of thumb for managers and business owners is, first and foremost, to apologize to the patron for their dissatisfaction and reassure them that you will look into the matter. We did not at any time ask for a discount, nor did we get angry. We were polite throughout, but they made us feel like WE had done something wrong. Management's behavior was completely off. As my husband and I left, he remarked to me that he never wants to return there again. Why would he? It's really too bad because we liked that place and I can't imagine that business is so great and that they want to lose customers.

But the coleslaw was awful, I could just taste the cabbage. I got to try salmon as well. It was a much better dish. Very nicely grilled and had excellent flavor as well. The fresh squeezed orange juice was good too. The staff were friendly. Even though the restaurant wasn't busy, it took them about 20 minutes to serve our meals. Great family owned restaurant with consistently delicious food, however we have had several students and locals complain about the character, honesty and ethics of the evening cashier. Be on the look out for discrepancies in your bill and credit card charges - in his favor - marked as tips when in fact cash tips are paid directly to the wait staff, who by the way are exemplary! The owners and this community deserve better, the afternoon/evening cashier's petty offenses are a stain on the reputation of a fine business and a good family. an earlier poster wrote that he lied to them, add petty theft to that sad character description. read more
