French Dip With American cheese. It was so fresh, hot and loaded! The Au Jus sauce as delicious.

We had stuffed pepper soup, french onion soup, opened face hot turkey sandwich, grilled cheese and a french dip this afternoon. Not only was it delicious but our waitress was so kind and nice. The place was clean and was practicing social distancing. We really felt welcomed and enjoyed our meal and the environment. Thanks Dobbs, everything was excellent!

Dinner tonight! Started with the French Onion soup, which was very good. I ordered ravioli and meatballs. The order came out really quick. Everything was hot and had great flavor. Everyone at our table had a good meal. Will definitely go back. Reasonably priced.

I got the blueberry pancakes, two eggs, and breakfast links. My friend ordered the western omelette with toasts. Everything was delicious! We were hungry so forgot to take pictures before we nearly finished our food! You get a great amount for what you pay. Definitely would come back if we ever pass by again.

Love it every time I'm here. Chicken and biscuits are to die for. All of it is home made. Turkey club is fantastic. Fresh turkey. Not the processed deli crap. Just an all around great place to get a nice home cooked meal.

Virginia Ham with orange raisin sauce. The sauce is different, but it is good.

Home style food with home style servings at a very reasonable price. You can go wrong with anything on the menu. It's a nice little "trucker stop" location that is open early and closes late. If you're looking for something that isn't a traditional "chain" restaurant, this is the place for you. Very mellow, very low key.

Breakfast is good not a big fan of anything else. Better than McDonald's Burger King and Dunkin doughnuts if you want a good breakfast.

We stop every time we are in the area. Nice place, reasonable prices. Better than a fast food joint.

Amazing cheeseburgers! The prices are cheap and the waitresses are friendly. I've never had a bad meal here.

So many mixed reviews. not sure if if I should give it a try again after decades. your thoughts?

The food was really good. I really enjoyed the Turkey Club and the fries. My friend ordered The Ruben and he said his was also very good. I've only eaten there once, it was an unintended stop driving home from NYC. It's an older diner, it needs a… Read more

My wife and I have frequented this cozy little diner for a few years. Simply enough, we return here…read morebecause we're always pleased with the food, service, cleanliness, and all-American milieu. Here, you could be in any decade from the nineteen-fifties till today. It seems timeless. We had the Lunch Special, lasagna, which totally surprised us. Clearly, this is not an Italian cachino, and the garlic bread that accompanied the lasagna was straight from a country kitchen. The garlic toast and the main dish were just what you'd expect at your mom's kitchen table. Wholesome and delicious in a generous portion. As I said, we've had many lunches at Windsor Diner. All were delightful, and all keep bringing us back.

The family were about halfway through our 5+ hour drive north, in desperate need of refueling…read more(literally and figuratively).  Citgo took care of the car, Yelp helped with the food. There weren't many options and the best reviewed was the Windsor Diner.(Yes, consisting of just one review... where that family was adventurous enough to try the lasagna - which is so amusing to me.  And not the last time we'd encounter a Yelp review in this part of the world where people actually order the lasagna from places no one in their right mind would!) Coming from NJ (diner capital of the country) where even my little hometown used to have 3 diners itself... maybe it isn't fair to judge a diner in God's country the same way we do in Jersey. This place is small.  It's decrepit (from the carpeting to the bathroom). There's a really strong odor (maybe old/burnt oil from the fryer?) wafting through the place the whole time we were there. But it's really busy... people coming and going constantly - which we take as a good sign. Waitress - awesome.  We're getting a good vibe from this place now. The Mrs. - really enjoyed her dish. Younger twin - he dug his dish. Older twin - half-and-half, he dug the sandwich but not the side of (clumpy and congealed) mac-and-cheese. Myself - after joking with the rest of my family about someone ordering the lasagna and garlic bread what do I do?  I bravely order their haddock special.  It wasn't "bad" but it definitely wasn't "good".  The (bland) filet was hacked up (either the cook was angry or this was the only way for them to 'know' the fish was cooked through/properly?) and the mashed potatoes were very basic (boring).   Pricing was honestly great.  (Jersey) Diner-size portions and no dish was over $14-ish. Not sure we'd come back but it definitely served its purpose.

Unique mac and cheese and good gnocchi!…read more I am debating giving the rook 3 or 4 stars... I was not a fan of the salmon mousse... far too salty and I wish it was paired with crisped bread or at least something other than Ritz crackers. I did, however, enjoy the presentation and taste of the macaroni au gratin. The square shape is very unique and I liked the cheese sauce. The lamb w gnocchi was also quite good. Pillowy and soft. The lamb was cooked well. Overall, I would maybe return. I enjoyed the macaroni au gratin as well as the lamb w gnocchi!

Loved the Rook's design choices, filled with anthropomorphic art and light yet refined ambiance…read more It wasn't too crowded when we arrived and we were seated immediately. Staff was pleasant and quick. The menu is dominated by drink options (cocktails and wines), and happy hour is 4-5pm, which is perfect for an aperitif. The fried chicken is by far their speciality, with the macaroni coming in as a distant second. But while both were delicious, I'd say the best value and taste goes surprisingly to the simple summer salad, which was crisp, sweet, tangy, and refreshing. It's only $10 for a hefty portion of food and I'd order that again anytime (and that's coming from a guy who'd never normally order a salad). My only criticisms are that the Rook doesn't have many entree choices (which may be a good thing for indecisive diners), and that it's very slightly pricey. Otherwise, it's an easy recommend for me.
