I was ecstatic to find a piece of Salem in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Gallows Hill Spirits is an…read moreexcellent distillery. I've had it bookmarked for a while, so I'm glad that we got to visit. It's warm and inviting. It's also aptly named because anyone who grew up in Salem knows that Gallows Hill was the place to go drink. Behind the bar is a replica of Salem's Witch House and there is a replica of the sign by the door, which really provides that Salem feel. The decor provides an overview of the Salem Witch Trials, including naming those who were murdered, which is important. We ordered two drinks, both of which were excellent. Next time we return, we'd like to taste some of the spirits individually. We met with Robert, the proprietor, for a tour, and he provided a high-level yet comprehensive overview of the trials. He started this distillery because he is descended from one of the executed and during the tour, he shares his familial connection and how he discovered it. Robert is very friendly and welcoming. It's wicked cool to find some of Salem outside of New England, especially in my partner's home area, and especially a place that takes our history seriously and shares the truthful version. The delicious drinks are a fun bonus. You absolutely must visit this distillery when in/near the Lehigh Valley.

Well, I just love this place and if you're looking for somewhere to get a drink and soak in the gorgeous Delaware water gap area look no further! First of all the beer here was really darn good, a cut above most places! But on top of that, if you'd rather have wine, well help yourself! They also do wine flights here! Both a beer and wine were terrific and above average! But the location and the views give it an extra star and bring it to five stars! The experience is not to be missed and exactly what I was looking for after a hard day of hiking and sightseeing in the Delaware water camp. On top of that, they got some really nice food. If you're hungry, their pizza is great! Great bar pies to hit the spot! You could sit inside or outside. If you want to sit inside, I highly recommend making a reservation even for the middle of the afternoon! That's right even for the middle of the afternoon! However, even though the inside was full, we sat out back on the patio and had a blast! However, if you want to eat a meal here, you'll need to get a reservation inside. They serve a limited menu outside however pizza was exactly what I was looking for to go with my beer! Super highly recommended to visit when in the area.

From interior to glassware,to actual locally distilled spirits and super welcoming staff as well as modern ambiance inside,I love everything about this place. The cocktail selection-from seasonal to classics-is impeccable (I personally love seasonals as it always surprises me with distinct flavors),and there's a food truck nearby,as well as an option to order food from a nearby venue (you scan a QR code and pay the bill separately from drinks ordered through the waiter, then they bring it to you). As you can tell,I'm a big fan and highly recommend anyone in the area a visit (or several!).

Comfortable, cozy, and thoughtfully arranged. The staff was incredibly accommodating and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The tasting itself was fantastic. The Coffee Liqueur was rich and smooth, and the Hibiscus Aperitivo Liqueur completely surprised me in the best way. It's vibrant, unique, and unlike anything I've ever had before. The Triple Sec / Orange Cello was delicious, and their Limoncello was bright, smooth, and perfectly balanced.Everything was so good that I ended up buying a bottle of each. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and high-quality spirits. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and unique tasting experience

The very friendly Taylor was more than helpful and made various suggestions as to what to try. She made the Smoked Old Fashioned with ease (see my videos!) and my friends said they were excellent. You also get to keep the glasses they come in which have engraving on them. I went with the try six and they had seven to try so I gave up the gin. Tried a vodka, rum, two whiskey, and two honey liquors. Half ounce pours each. Realized I'm just not a whiskey guy but one was super smooth. I did like the honey ones, though. After my set of six, I ended up getting a vodka mixed drink and also got a four-pack of of a vodka canned cocktail which is new for them this year, and they decided to go non-carbonated. I would have preferred it to be carbonated but you can just add seltzer. The place seats a couple dozen and they are included on a lot of bus/trolley tours (a lot of bridesmaids parties) so at times it can get loud and busy. If you are under the influence you will not be served. They have t-shirts, hoodies, glassware, and even sell some pieces of the barrels so you can make your own smoked drinks. I ended up spending about $50 for my tasting flight, cocktail, and a t-shirt. I wished they were allowed to sell some small bite foods. It would make this place even better. I forgot to use my Yelp check-in for a discount!

Parking is somewhat limited, but there is a large lot across the street. When we were there, a bluegrass band was playing. The bartender was very attentive and spends a lot of time making their creations. For example, the Berry Blast which contains their vodka along with simple syrup, pineapple juice, blackberries and raspberries actually uses quite a bit of real fruit and gets muddled into a tasty cocktail. Most of the prices are in the $10-15 range per drink. I believe you can bring your own food and its possible there may be some food trucks close by.
