F and I were hankering for some outdoor drinks. I especially wanted to be tasting Bourbon. Hewn opened at 4pm on Friday. It was an exceptionally lovely evening as the sun started to set. The distillery is in an industrial park but it is still a green and comfortable spot. On the night we were there, a pizza food truck served up really good flat bread pizza. There was also a guitarist. I guess my only negative was, I wish they had more inventive cocktails. But I did enjoy the peach tea and Bourbon drink (I did have 2). Another plus, if you aren't into spirits, Buck's County Brewery is right next door for some beer choices. read more

RUN from this garbage. Spent over $3k for an engagement at this place. The drinks were god awful with no alcohol and the service was even worse. The bartender would not serve water, stating we should have brought our own, and would not help with any trash, stating we need to find an outside trash source for our party. I will never give a dime to this establishment again and the owner who is old as dirt will never change the terrible employees. Good luck to this shit brand. read more

Is this really Peddler's Village??? We came across this place a couple of days ago quite by accident. This after seeing that a tap room is coming to PV as well. Mighty fine! The address is for the actual distillery. We got there at shift change, I think, so there were two bubbly, helpful and very attractive bartenders on duty and they know their product. My wife and I chose a specialty drink - vodka for her, rum for me. I also tasted the rye and it was nice. They offer small bottles of Bourbon, Rum, Vodka and Rye whiskey and they are a little on the high side. Certainly will be worth looking into during a future visit. One small recommendation - they should always have two people on duty to prevent unavoidable waiting while specialty drinks are being prepared. read more

Stopped here "by accident" looking for Buck's County Brewery for the Untappd Bucks County Beer Tour Promotion. We were told there was a private party party in progress so we asked to have our "passports" validated since we made the 20 mile trek. The two girls working said they had "no idea what we are talking about" and that they didn't have the code. It wasn't until someone in our group looked for a rest room when they found the Bucks County Brewery IN THE ADJOINING space, sharing the hall and bathroom!!! There is something going on here about Hewn not being a very good neighbor since this is not the first review indicating that Hewn is "blocking" patrons of the Brewery. Get your act together!!!!!! BTW, Tucker, the Brewery Bar Tender was very professional, apologized for the "misunderstanding" and had nothing bad to say about Hewn. read more

Short on pretentiousness, Long on awesome. These dudes are winning at life, operating from an industrial park. Seriously good tiny-batch distillery, which transforms into a pub at night, serving their own cocktails and a big menu of craft beer. Big roll-up garage door, with windows, and picnic tables both in and out, so when the weather is nice the whole operation becomes open-air. We stopped by for the first time on a quiet saturday night, had a great time talking with the staff and playing with their new puppy. We will (WILL) be back for Friday nights, when they bring in gourmet food trucks and serve food and booze all evening. The single malt whiskey and the moonshine are very excellent. Delicious product and incredible service. I needed to buy a bottle of bourbon for a friend's 50th birthday and stopped in at the retail store in Peddler's Village. They were sold out. Knowing that I was leaving town the next morning for the party, one of the managers called the owner and master distiller, Sean Tracy, to see if there were any bottles in stock. Sean took the time to meet me at the distillery after hours to get a bottle for me. What incredible service! I delivered the bourbon to my friend, who is a bit of a bourbon connoisseur, and he absolutely loved it. These guys are the real deal. A small craft distillery tucked away in a small town I didn't know existed...not being a "spirits guy" I didn't know what to expect driving in, but visiting Hewn was an awesome time! They offered a gold rum, moonshine, a rye whiskey, and a single malt whiskey that (if I recall correctly) kind of rotates batch to batch. they are also only a few months away from releasing a bourbon, and that thing is going to be a hit. you heard it here first! all of these spirits were remarkably smooth (I only tried them neat to fully appreciate them IMO), and I was stunned to find out about their process which enables them to go from grain to glass in roughly 6 weeks. honestly, I'm still shocked, but the proof was in my sample glass. they also have a small menu of specialty cocktails, and those with me really enjoyed them. What a fantastic place - Great concept!!!!! We visited Hewn in Peddler's Village. We were greeted by Mike the bartender. A very nice and friendly guy. He was eager and willing to explain all the varieties of spirits and how they are made. We then meet the owner Sean. Also a very nice guy. Also told us about the history of the company and his background and well as the barrels that are used and the process that each variety goes through. The craftsmanship of the bar and the ambiance of the place in general just adds to the experience. The music that they were playing was great. The bourbon was the smoothest I ever ever had and I have had quite of few. It made for a nice end to our afternoon in Peddler's Village. Best of luck to you guys. Keep up the great work. read more

GREAT PLACE FOR A PARTY! My husband and I stumbled upon Hewn Spirits in Peddlers Village on New Years Eve day. I'm a bourbon lover and this was an awesome find. I had been searching for the right venue to celebrate my big 60th birthday that would appeal to all ages, and surprisingly I had accidentally walked into the perfect place! It has a great atmosphere, cozy and rustic with plenty of parking across the street for guests. I reserved the entire place for a Saturday evening party in March for 40 people. I worked with the manager, Dana, who is the friendliest person you will ever meet. She was completely knowledgeable and so helpful in providing recommendations and suggestions. She helped to set up and decorate for the party allowing me to pretty much do anything I wanted to make my party personalized. I hired a band, the Regan Duo Brothers, who really created a fun atmosphere. They played the songs I requested as well as songs from the 70's to current artists - my guests raved about them for days afterwards. I also hired a young artist, Lauren Walsh, who did unbelievable caricatures that were a party hit! I decided to make it a cocktail party with passed hor dourves catered by Modern Palate out of Colmar. They provided everything necessary including the chef and waitresses, and the food was unique and delicious. In lieu of a typical birthday cake, I opted for "cocktail" cupcakes from the Lucky Cupcake bakery also located in Peddlers Village-they were fabulous. Most importantly the drinks were so, so, so good. Hewn spirits are wonderful with Dark Hollow bourbon my favorite, and their rye, whiskey, rum and vodka were enjoyed by many. Oh and I don't want to leave out kudos to Mike the bartender who kept the drinks (and shots) flowing all night. Request Mike if you have a party as he is extremely attentive to insure the guests are well treated. Well, if you can't tell, I had so much fun. With all of the passion and attention to detail and quality you would expect from a local small batch distillery, and none of hipster aggression towards newcomers, Hewn Spirits makes craft spirits accessible and fun. I have had the opportunity to tour their Pipersville distillery, as well imbibe at both the Pipersville and Peddlar's Village locations, and they have found a lifetime patron in me. Alex was my tour guide and bartender on both occasions, and this girl knows her stuff! I won't even take the time to speak in detail about their offerings, because Alex and the rest of the staff will happily take the time to ask you what you like, explain the different spirits, and match you up with the perfect cocktail for your taste and mood. Having tasted all of their specialty cocktails, I can tell you there is not a bad one on the menu. Step outside of your comfort zone, accept a recommendation and prepare to look at small batch distillation in a whole new light. My husband and I recently had an opportunity to visit Hewn Spirits in Peddlers Village and we had such a great experience that I felt compelled to write a review. We had some of their specialty cocktails with the rum and bourbon and sampled the moonshine. "Wow!" This stuff is awesome. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the cocktail selections were innovative. If you are lucky enough to pop in when Alex is working, you are in for a real treat. She is friendly, knowledgeable and makes a wonderful cocktail. Peddlers village location: this place used to be great. Was one of my favorite discoveries, drinks are delicious, but now just one bartender a shift for a ton of people. One of the main draws here was the bartenders and I found out my favorite, Alex, no longer works here. She was very knowledgable and fun. Tonight the bartender was fantastic and hustling, but cleaning up spilled drinks and serving hand mixed specialty cocktails is a tough job especially with a private party going on. The bar itself is tilted downwards. Quite obviously needs a lip on the end. Peoples drinks slide off pretty often despite warning. I had a drink smashed all over me tonight and saw two others spilled on others. Also they ran out of bourbon.... How do you run out of 1 of 3 liquors that you serve??? People kept asking for special concoctions since there was no bourbon, which took up more time. There is no food so the drinks really are the main focus. Seems like it may be going downhill despite a strong start. Gave 3 stars anyways solely because entertainment was awesome. I got his card Tony Alosi. Great talent. I'll return again and see how it is and let you know. A lot of potential. read more
