This deserves a full retelling of my experience here. As soon as I saw this beautifully decorated, colorful store packed wall to wall with cool trinkets, I knew it was just going to be amazing. It was a small store with about 10 tables and a good amount of families and solo diners inside at 2pm. Oh my god I knew I was in for such a TREAT!! The burritos looked amazing but we settled on the chilaquiles, and I have to say that I only had chilaquiles once before, but this absolutely blew everything I've ever had and ever will have out of the water. First of all, the CHICKEN was... I mean look at the picture. It was so tender and flavorful, grilled AND SEASONED to utter perfection. The seasoning on it was incredibly pronounced and you could still taste it even if your mouth was tingling from their roasted green salsa. The abundance of chips remained crispy despite being drenched in sauce and cojita cheese. The first bite I almost burned my tongue but it was worth it. We got the eggs over medium but it was on the runny side for sure, but to me I didn't mind. Just the flavor of the chips in the egg yolk made me ascend to heaven. The plate was huge and filling and just COOKED WITH LOVE. I cannot appreciate everyone there enough. The service was so friendly, shoutout to our lovely server, she was so helpful! Been here a couple times for breakfast. The people in the kitchen move quick! The food comes out fast and is sold authentic Mexican food. This latest time I tried their chilaquiles. Half red half green. The green salsa was so good. Traditional tomatillo with the perfect amount of heat. I added their roasted salsa on top for an extra kick and it paired perfectly with everything! The red salsa I didn't love, it was tomato based and lacked a little something. Still ate it and enjoyed my quick meal in the fashion district. read more

Dona Inez has been the best addition to my Downtown lunch rotation. I first tried their food when Soy, the foodie influencer did a chilaquiles collaboration with Dona Inez. The turn out was so heart warming, chilaquiles were so full of flavor and people were generous with tipping the team! The quality and taste of their food is consistent and portions are incredibly generous and finally their salsa packs a solid punch!! Service was mediocre, food was overpriced and not authentic. Drinks are all bottles (including water) and the agua fresca powder. Coffee is not authentic de la holla just regular Instant coffee. Got 3 burritos 2 waters and a small horchata for $50. Food took long and table that got there after me got served before me. The chorizo burrito was a ratio of mainly rice and beans and the chorizo was mixed heavily with mainly egg could barely taste chorizo. Food was not great or authentic tasting. The workers were nice and very efficient making the food didn't wait long, got two different burritos but both were extremely bland. The salsa on the side was great and spicy, very overpowering but the rest of the components were COMPLETELY lacking flavor. I was shocked to take a bite out of my burrito and taste nothing. Since our stomachs were grumbling, we found Dona Inez a few stores down from the corner of Broken Mouth. The interior made this restaurant intriguing and worth trying. Looked authentic and walking inside you'll feel like you're in Mexico. Waitress indicated that chilaquiles were popular. So we decided to try the bistek chilaquile which we ordered in green sauce and consisting of corn tortillas lightly fried with cilantro, onion, cheese, and sour cream. Sounds really basic but all together delicious and made to order. For $8.50, it's a steal. Will definitely come back to rest of their menu consisting of caldos, burritos, sopes, huaraches, fajitas and seafood. read more

No joke, Dona Inez makes some of the best breakfast burritos in town! I only stumbled upon them after quarantine started in spring 2020 and am SO glad I found them. If only I knew they existed sooner! Their chorizo burrito is absolutely phenomenal and is my go-to. The salsa that comes with it is perfectly seasoned and just a bit spicy. Their chilaquiles and huevos rancheros are also delicious. Free delivery on orders over $20. Each time I've ordered (countless times lol), it's always arrived within the expected window and has been contactless and seamless because of covid. (4:30 pm Monday to Saturday) I had their quesadilla with pulled chicken in red sauce and my husband had their fish in garlic butter sauce. Both our dishes were freshly prepared and extremely well made. However the flavors didn't knock our socks off. Could def used more chicken and cheese in my quesadilla. And the garlic butter sauce could had used a bit more seasoning. Nevertheless, the portion and price were very reasonable. We were beyond satisfied. Came here with my family to grab a quick bite before hitting the road. We asked for all the food to go, we had never been here before but figured it would be okay as the place had solid reviews. We got three burritos, a california, vegetarian, and a asada burrito. I want to state that we are Mexican, grew up in mexico and cross back and forth to Tijuana every other weekend. These burritos were not good at all, while the tortilla and the salsa was pretty good, the contents of the burrito were unlike anything I have ever seen. Our burritos came with white rice and black beans, and while I love black beans I expect pinto beans in a burrito and never even expect white rice. My vegetarian burrito had cut pieces of cucumber and cut slices of tomato, it was terrible. The asada burrito had shredded carrot in it, was not able to get a picture of it before throwing it away, and the california which compared to the other two was not as bad was also not good. We took our inicial bites and after we realized what was in them we threw them away. While their other dishes might be good, I do not all recommend that you get the burritos from this place, just save your money. Give this place two stars because the people working there where nice and their salsa was good. read more
