    Chorizo Bacon Empanada

Oh my gosh!! Delicious! My friend and I were grabbing coffee on a Saturday morning and happened upon the Fells point farmers market where we smelled this amazing stall. She got the spicy chicken and I got the chorizo bacon; both were delicious and saucy. The service was great as the lady behind the register was pointing out what flavors were popular. We'll definitely be back!

The #1, #2, and #16 empanadas. It doesn't really matter which you choose because they're all phenomenal.

After I took my first bite of one of the empanadas, my first words were, "Holy ****!" I like to think of myself as a bit of an empanada connoisseur--these empanadas are in contention for the best I've ever had in my life. I had the ground beef, chicken, and spicy chicken empanadas. It doesn't really matter which you choose because they're all phenomenal. I can't wait to go back!

Bit more expensive than their farmers market location, but same flavor. + Empanada Bowl ($18): chicken, shrimp old bay, and masaco empanadas cut in half and over a bed of romaine and spring mix. Regular salsa sauce and this green goddess-like dressing. The chicken was the best, nice savory and sweet blend from the potato and raisin (8/10). Shrimp old bay was ok, the shrimps were really small but it was the most savory (7/10). Masaco was a better sweet and savory combo of plantain and pork, but leans to the sweetest side (7.3/10)

Happened upon DMV Empanadas after finding So Beachy closed in Cross Street Market yesterday. I was starving and this seemed like the best option. The young man behind the register was a peach and helped me work through the many empanada options. I ended up ordering two #2s and one #10. I wanted to order a side, but there were none that I could see. The only thing other than just empanadas was an empanada salad. I considered it, but decided no. The food was ready quickly after I paid. I took the container and went to find a spot to eat in the market. The empanadas were too hot to eat for some time. When I did finally bite in, the #2 tasted pretty good. I didn't like the #10 and didn't eat more than half. Also didn't like the spicy sauce. Overall, I could have skipped eating here. The #2 empanada is decent though if you're in the mood.

Delightful little empanada place at Fed Hill's Cross Street Market. Friendly service and large-size empanada. I has a ground beef one. Delish!

Deeeee-li-cious empanadas inside Cross St Market! The menu features over a dozen different flavors, both savory and sweet. Love the chicken, ground beef, and ham. These empanadas are nice and hearty - great as a snack but will also work as a quick meal. Can order ahead via their website. Pro-Tip: grab a to-go order while you're enjoying drinks at One Star - they'll let you eat these at the bar!

The cheeseburger empanadas are freaking bomb.com! I tried it once and then went four times in one week. I was obsessed.

HOW did I not know this place existed?!…read more I went to Franklin Street Social with a few friends on a random Wednesday evening a few weeks ago, and I am not exaggerating when I say my mind was BLOWN the second I walked in. Let me set the scene: 13 restaurants. FULL commercial kitchens. One central bar. A historic factory turned into a warm, vibey, eclectic gathering space. And yes...an actual slide for adults that delivers pure, unfiltered joy. We arrived just before closing and had no issues with parking -- plenty of spaces right outside and well-lit, which is always appreciated. But the second we walked in? Game over. This place is STUNNING. Think warm string lights, wood accents, quirky design details, and little surprises everywhere you look. There's even a book vending machine. Like...what?! And then comes the real challenge: choosing what to eat. With 13 options, this was honestly the hardest part of the night. I strongly considered just committing to chaos and getting one item from every vendor, but maturity (barely) prevailed. For my first visit, I went with a tempura shrimp bowl from one vendor and grabbed a kiwi strawberry drink from another so I could at least pretend I sampled the variety. My adventure buddies did the same -- everyone ordered from different spots and we met in the middle at a shared table. That's one of the best parts of this place. No negotiating menus, no compromising -- everyone gets exactly what they want and you still get to share the experience together. The food? Delicious. No notes. The vibe? Immaculate. And yes... I went down the slide. Obviously. And you should too. Do not skip it. Pro tip: have someone waiting at the bottom to capture the moment because the smile you'll have coming down that thing is 100% genuine joy! Also -- and I can't believe I'm saying this -- check out the bathrooms. I know, I know...weird Yelp detail. But trust me. Each one is uniquely themed, and the one I ended up in had animals wearing wild outfits. It was chaotic, hilarious, and somehow completely on brand for the space. Franklin Street Social isn't just a place to eat. It's a place to hang out. To explore. To people-watch. To linger. I could have easily spent hours there just soaking it all in. If you haven't been yet, make it a destination. Seriously! I'll absolutely be back -- probably with a bigger appetite and slightly less self-control next time.
