Parking can be a hit or miss and you must park on the street with no garage nearby. A small restaurant with a small bakery as I could smell the fresh bread being made today, 01/03/25. The tables and floor need better care. I understand it's busy during lunch time due to their almuerzo that comes with soup and main dish but a bit more of an eye on cleaning could be done. I still give it three stars because there was only one waitress/cashier so I understand why it could be hard to keep up. The food from the updated menu was good. For some reason all the dishes I ordered came with beet salad which looked like it had better days. The guatita was tasty, camarón encocado as well. The hornado mixto was okay. The meat was tender, llapingachos a bit bland but overall a decent meal considering I do not have any other Ecuadorian options nearby. The churrasco was decent too with tender meat with tomatoes and onions. Will I come back? Yes. No other Ecuadorian options around here do I I'll settle for this place once in a while. A little taste of home with some areas for improvement. Oh and jugo de tomate de árbol... yum!

IFYKYK. I don't think Latin food is all that good around Baltimore so I've been dodging them all since I got here except for 2-3 places. Baltimore doesn't exactly attract as a multicultural crowd as dc, nyc, or la so you'd be lucky if you find a banh mi with pate within city limits. I took a chance with this place and I'm glad I did because it's just like what I had in Ecuador. As we know homemade food reigns supreme but like this almost reached the levels of the amazing Christmas dinner I had down in Ecuador with a former partners extended Ecuadorian family. And these prices are unreal. I hesitated to even review because with popularity comes price hikes but I want these folks to succeed. Don't sleep on this one, Baltimore!

Awesome..encebollado and sopa marinera..love caldo de bolas as well..la bandeja la taverna, lunch specials, empanadas de harina con queso y quaker..

Lunch special is from 11am-3:30pm. When I came on Wednesday it was sopa de cebada and Tallarin de pollo con arroz blanco. It came with agua de jaimaca. My husband order guatita. The food is favorable. The portion for the guatita was small. The service was nice. Ambiance is chill. Doesn't get packed. Street parking available. I would come back because it's the only Ecuadorian restaurant available in the whole dmv :( also my mom is in NY :( i miss her Ecuadorian food! I love guatita. Chucha!

I ordered inside for carry out. It was my first time visiting this restaurant and the cashier was very helpful with the menu. My favorite part of the meal was the shrimp; it had so much flavor that I almost ignored the rest of the food. I was excited to try the ceviche but they forgot to pack it with my food

Great little spot! I'm very familiar with with Peruvian (studied there) and Bolivian (married to one!) food but Ecuadorian was new to me and I enjoyed it a lot. The restaurant is pretty humble, it's on a corner in a neighborhood near Hopkins Bayview and from the outside looks a bit like a typical Baltimore neighborhood dive bar, but the food is excellent with big portions and excellent prices! Horneado equatoriano is my recommendation; especially if you like Caribbean/Filipino lechón. I hope to go back soon!

Sweet, cheerful, little corner restaurant serving (obviously) Ecuadorian food. I'm not familiar with this cuisine, but I am familiar with ceviche, and the variation I had they was que rico! It was more of a cold soup than the version I'm familiar with, but was fresh and bright. I wouldn't hesitate to order again, and look forward to trying some of their other dishes. As far as atmosphere, service was friendly and there was no trouble communicating. Focus in the restaurant seems to head towards the TV playing a Spanish-language station. Overall, a nice choice a few blocks north from the heart of Greektown.

La bandeja has steak, chicken, chorizo shrimp and shrimp ceviche with rice and salad, delicious and highly recommended, good price

So it cost me $10-15 to for a plastic takeout container. Had I not looked at the customer copy of the bill I would have not only not known but I would have tipped based on the total which already included the additional gratuity charge (which was not disclosed on the merchant copy). This is so unnecessary and ruined what would have been a good experience. They said it was a "sharing charge" which I have experienced and applies when u have another diner with you and u decide to split an entree. Had they disclosed I would at least had the option to finish the meal. The saying "stepping over dollars to pick up pennies " seems to apply as this left such a bad taste I doubt I will return despite the fact the crab cake was delicious and the loaded baked potato was average (hardly loaded) Beware of the hidden gratuity for take home leftovers!!! Update to above: I did follow up with Angie this morning and she was very kind and offered to credit back my card for the extra gratuity. She also explained that I was misled about the "sharing charge" but they do automatically add 15% gratuity regardless of party size or quality of service. So I would give 4 stars for the food quality and 1 star for the way in which they present and charge gratuity. Tipping should remain at the discretion of the diner based on service and food quality otherwise just get rid of tipping and raise your prices

Seating: Indoor seating with room for about 20 people inside the market. Vibes: You're right in the heart of Old Town / Fells Point -- the touristy but charming part of Baltimore. I dig the vintage brick roads, the historic feel, and the mix of locals and visitors passing through. The space sits inside a lively market (1640 Aliceanna St) with that true Baltimore seafood vibe -- casual, approachable, and full of movement. It's not fine dining; it's flavor-first, no-nonsense, and welcoming. Great for a quick grab-and-go or to sit down for a casual meal. FOOD/DRINKS: Crab Soup (A-Ok) Simple but hearty. It reminded me of a tomato-based soup with crab mixed in -- nothing too fancy, but warm and satisfying. I appreciated the richness and good amount of crab meat. I'm more of a clam chowder fan, so next time I might go that route, but this was still solid. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Quick, friendly, and efficient. The staff clearly know what they're doing and keep things moving without losing that personal touch. TL; DR OVERALL: 4 Stars. Good prices, solid flavors, and a classic Baltimore seafood feel. Sal and Son's Seafood isn't flashy, but it's genuine -- a go-to for a comforting bowl and a true local experience. I'll be back to try their other dishes next time I'm in the area. The shrimp and chicken jambalaya was also executed well. Also, I highly recommend trying the fresh fruit drinks. We got watermelon and pineapple, and "refreshing" doesn't begin to describe how good they were. The service was straightforward and to the point, which works for me. The establishment is located inside of a market. We went on a Sunday, so this was one of the few eateries open. I'm imagining that it is probably more jumping on other days. If I'm in Baltimore again, I'll definitely consider visiting again and exploring more of the menu.

Being ambitious, we did ask the server to leave the menu behind, just in case. There was so much deliciousness to choose from But alas, we were satiated. To drink, we skipped the bottomless Mimosa and Bloody Mary and opted instead for a Blood Orange Margarita (which was more berry-like in color) and a Passion Fruit Mezcal Sour. We ordered the small raw seafood tower, the steamed seafood platter, and the lobster pasta from the large plates section. We are a family of four with a pretty big appetite, and it ended up being the perfect amount of food for us. Everything was delicious and incredibly fresh. The raw tower came with cocktail sauce, mignonette, horseradish, and lemon slices, and the steamed platter was served with melted butter and nicely seasoned spices. There was also hot sauce and Old Bay seasoning on the table so you could customize everything to your taste. Once the seafood arrived we got fully busy with our hands and all the tools provided, which honestly made the whole experience even more fun. I genuinely cannot pick a favorite because we enjoyed every single thing we ordered. I also tried the Orange Crush, which I learned is a Maryland vodka drink made with freshly crushed fruit juice. That drink was dangerous because it tasted just like orange juice, but the vodka definitely sneaks up on you. Since we were celebrating, dessert was on the house, which was such a thoughtful touch. We shared the cast iron baked cookie with salted caramel ice cream and it was the perfect ending to the meal.
