Back on the day, this was my local mall as a Marylander. I had my first job here, my first kiss, lots of shopping memories, lots of hanging out with friends and adventures. This was the cool mall to go to back in the Golden Days of Marley Station of Limbo Lounge, Contempo Causals, Forever 21, Walden book store, Hot Topic, Spencer's. I took a vacation last month as now I live in Florida to vist this mall right before I went to BWI. Too many empty spaces, too many stores that sill be shut down, odd stores, not that many people at the mall. Very depressing. :( read more

This mall used to be a bop back in the 2000's. Now it's kind of dead. Very liminal. But weirdly enough, this Friday it was poppin. Lots of people. Felt weird because half the stores are closed. There's no real quality stores there. Just a lot of like perfume places. The best places in the mall are the shoe repair, China Bowl, and the new Filipino food shop! read more

Containing signature Taubman architecture and working neon lights, this place has been on my bucket list since 2008! Besides jcpenney, Macy's, the movie theater, the gym, and a few random stores that have somehow managed to stay open, this place is a ghost town. Entire sections of the mall are completely empty. It makes for a great walking route because there are no stores to tempt you to window shop. Particularly hard to see was the empty playground. I used to bring my son there almost weekly when he was younger. There would almost always be 10 kids or more and no seating. Now there was 1 kid, a closed sears, shut down auntie Anne's, and the convenient store (open) Pieces of the structure and worn and not fixed, suggesting a lack of care and pride in it. Sad to think how much joy and fun it brought compared to how empty and sad it is now. read more

This mall is dead. Besides the anchor stores of J.C. Penny's and Macy's there is absolutely no need to go inside the mall. If you want to go to the movies that may be the only reason to enter the actual mall. Most stores are closed. If you want a prom dress or a special event dress there are 2 shops however they may or may not be open so call ahead. read more

The mall has an indoor playground. Also Rita's is inside and an awesome pizza place and bookstore!

How in the world is this mall still functioning?? It's definitely different from 15 years ago. Hopefully they tear it down and start over. I'm not even sure which stores are still there. read more

Now the mall is nearly empty now I came there for an eye appointment looks like Amazon brought part of the former boscov parking lot. when I walked in I was greeted with a musty smell like a basement basically all of the major stores are gone including Sears which recently closed I wanted some chic fil a guess what ? they are gone all that was left was the sbarros that hasn't been updated since I was in elementary school (2005) and some knock off food restaurants and most of the stores in there are knock off jewelry stores or family owned shops the movie theater looked so depressing but looked updated from the outside. Only good thing that's left is bath and body works and yankee candle which looks like they are barely holding on This mall needs to just be torn down and made into something better like a town center or something. read more

Marley Station Mall is in serious need of a makeover. There are some empty stores which are screaming to be filled. Honestly, I live in pretty close proximity to this mall but I only go here if I have to or if I am just bored and would like to browse around, earn some Shopkick points, and get some extra steps in on my FitBit. The one positive thing I can say about this mall is that it is never crowded. Everyone else must be at Arundel Mills which is another place I can't stand. Honestly, my favorite malls in the area are Annapolis and Columbia but this mall contains the basics that you'll find at most other malls. So if you just really want to go to Macy's or JC Penney for something and this mall is closer, why waste the gas? The food court area doesn't offer much either but again, it has the basics such as Chick-fil-A and Sbarro. There is also a Ruby Tuesday here. If Marley Station Mall made a few small changes, it would be a place that I'd love to frequent. And just in case the management of this mall is out there listening/watching us Yelpers, I would like to suggest filling the empty stores, adding another restaurant or two (Chipotle, please), and updating the movie theater. read more

So this is not the most happening mall, but the weekend crowd is 90% less than Arundel Mills, meaning no knife fights for parking! It has the essential stores my family and I go to. It was clean and didn't see much riff raffs running around the mall. Upside its a few miles down the road. Downside is that its an 80's throwback mall! read more

This is a nice mall for the staple stores that still reside here. Sears. My go to for everything tools and sometimes patio/outdoor furniture. Sears used to have a nice manager - I guess he left, most employees are still helpful. The movie theater was just redone so It is pretty nice. I like going to movies here to avoid the crowds of Arundel Mills. I also like that there is still a Ruby Tuesday in the back. Penny's offers a good variety of home goods and clothing. The food court is sad and lacking. There is a ton of space for lease. Ownership keeps changing. Sure wish someone would help this place out. Could be a very nice mall. I think Arundel Mills is taking it down though. read more

I would actually give the mall a 2.5 if I could, but I will go with a three. This mall has so much potential, but it is a mall stuck in the late 80's. The three main stores are Macy's, Penny's and Sears. It has more stores, but still a LOT of closed up stores. The ones I went in were nice, but ....dated. The outside of the mall made me sad. The building looks....forgotten. Black stuff on the front of the buildings just needed a good power wash. The signs for the mall enterence , pennys, Macys etc, looked tired. It's a small mall with lots of available space lacking stores. The food court leaves much to be desired but they have Rita's which is nice. The movie theater is decent though with lots of showings and reasonable concession prices. Movies are the main reason friends and I come to this particular mall. Some highlights to mention are Curmudgeon Books, the beauty outlet store with an extensive selection, and the Ruby Tuesdays. read more

I haven't been in a while but used to go alot when I was younger. It has a neat look compared to most malls and they kept the neon and the elevator. They have a Sephora and a Sears and other stuff. The vibes are alot more relaxing than in other malls and I hear the cinema is nice as well. read more

Its not a great mall or even a good one, but it has a great layout and ceilings. The stores are kinda weird. If you want a dress for your quinciniera or a shirt that says something offensive this is the mall to go to. The golds gym is okay but the department stores are pretty gross. My favorite is the empty sections with just an unmanned arcade in a lonely corner. The chick fil a play place (not located near chick fil a) is alright. It was probably nicer when I first started coming but it has a certain charm that keeps you coming back. read more

People really need to stop being so hard on this mall. Don't like it? Go somewhere else. Think about it for a second; there are at least three different much bigger malls in moderately close proximity to this place; the Annapolis Mall, Arundel Mills and the Columbia Mall. Marley Station wasn't built to compete with those three, and shouldn't be expected to. Sure, it's smaller, less aesthetically pleasing and offers less in terms of store selection, but the crime is WAY less, the crowd is WAY less and it does offer at least a few 'essential' locations, such as Macy's and Sears. The mall sucks because it doesn't have a Starbucks? Really? I didn't realize a Starbucks was the main criteria for a great mall. Get outta here with that nonsense. There are some outdated aspects to it, but I feel like that adds a bit of a simple charm. I come here almost every weekend, just as 'something to do'. I always feel safe, it's never crowded and I can always find parking, unlike Arundel Mills and Annapolis. At the end of the day, if you're in the market for serious shopping, go somewhere else. If you just want to do some light shopping, grab a bit to eat and/or let your kids play around without the crowd, this place is great. read more

There are much better malls but they're far away. Annapolis and columbia would be much better for me. Alas, I am stuck with marley station mall. Someone mentioned that the bathrooms are few and far between... so true. There is one in the food court and one in each department store and one upstairs. Seriously I have to dash accross the mall if I have to go, very inconvenient. The play place is ok but i feel like it should be monitored better. Teenagers like to come here and play on the play place which is totally unacceptable to me. There are also other kids who aren't teens but far too large to be playing on the equipment and are not asked to leave. They have a "you must be this short to play" sign and nobody cares. WTF I have two very small kids who want to not be bulldozed by your horse of a child! Anyways, stores are not very clean. The quality of repuitable stores is going down... hechts and boscovs is gone. They just lost a great restaurant who did not renew their lease. It's just not a great mall anymore. Nobody wants to shop at any of the stores they have, they're just not that great. read more

This place is never, ever crowded so that's a plus. I actually really like that aspect. I actually dislike Arundel Mills which is almost always crowded, you can never find parking, and according to the media has more crime. It does have good stores: Aero, Forever 21, Victoria's Secret, Yankee Candle, all the cell phone stores, Spencers, the major department stores, Payless, etc. I do wish they'd add a Torrid and a plus size section to Forever 21 (know your audience Marley- it's Glen Burnie!) What's missing is a plus size store which would draw people in. Perhaps a Big and Tall as well? I miss Frederick's of Hollywood. I see one of the business owners is asking people what they would like to see at Marley Station. Well Steve- please bring back Frederick's and put it in a high traffic area! Please please please! I remember when this place opened in the late 1980s - it made such a huge splash that the local television news stations came out to report on it. Everyone, and I mean, EVERYONE, wanted to go to this mall "back in the day". These days... eh, not so much. Marley Station is hanging on, much like Security Square Mall is; it's not dead just yet, but it's on the brink of extinction. It is definitely outdated; the more popular stores are just not here, and most likely won't be. There are signs of encouragement; there's a couple of currently popular places (e.g., Victoria's Secret) and the anchors that they still have (Penney's, Macy's) are maintained very nicely. The Macy's in particular was very attractive. The food court was almost impossible to find, which doesn't help the mall any. We visited on a Saturday evening, so we didn't see any rough-housing or "dangerous" teenagers lurking about - actually, we didn't see ANY teenagers lurking about, for all of that. (Boy, that's evidence that it's no longer 1986, isn't it.) Mainly parents with children and couples like ourselves. For all of this mall is being criticized, there were actually a healthy amount of people there shopping, so it can't be THAT bad. Not a bad option if you live in the area, but it's probably not worth the drive time if you're not local. read more

This is just a review for the movie theater as the only notable thing in the mall is the Forever 21 and the Maryland Speedy Title and Tag. Other than that, I've gotten a watch battery replaced for over $10, and a bag fixed at the leather repair place. We came for a 12:30 showing on a rainy Monday. We were the only ones in the theater which makes sense given the day. While it's been noted before, I have to concur with the smell (is it mold?) when you walk into a theater and the terrible seats. We got there early and attempted to play on our phones only to realize that there is no service at all on AT&T. We wondered if this was on purpose to have people cut off their phones during the movie. The strangest part was when not once, but three times staff came in to "patrol" the place. I don't know if they were trying to catch us eating food we brought in (whoops), or if they were catching people sneaking in. There were only two of us, so I'm pretty sure they could tell if someone else was there. This place makes me so sad. The mall is as old as I am and I'm pretty sure it hasn't been updated at all in the entire time it's been open. I get that when Arundel Mills opened up, competition was fierce and Marley experienced a drop in clientele.. but you think they'd want to keep their customers coming back? The movie theater? I won't even go there. Not stadium seating and the seats they do have are quite possibly the most uncomfortable ones I've ever been in. They'd be better off turning it into a second-run theater because I'm sure they'd get more people coming in. Food court? Non existant. There's a food "area" with multiple fast-food restaurants. We're talking Subway, Chick-fil-a, a new mexican food place, and the Chinese food place that's always been there. The Boardwalk Fries closed. Remember when the mall had Friendly's? or Gloria Jean's coffee? Or other half-decent food options? No? I'm not surprised. It's been SO LONG! Shops? How many "As seen on TV" stores or general "gift" stores with the creepy kimonos and bamboo plants does a mall need? Bring in some modern stores so I don't have to drive to Annapolis or Columbia to do my shopping. An Old Navy, Sephora, Ulta, H&M, Crate and Barrel, J Crew, or SOMETHING resembling upscale. The place needs to get with the times, and a large group of people that live in the area can afford those places.. they just have to go elsewhere to get them. Keep them close by and the money goes to the mall! Shame on the Developers/Owners for letting the place get this way. I gave a +1 star because parking is easy and this place is stress-free compared to Arundel Mills (the bane of my existence) and I'm never worried for my safety. read more

I much prefer Annapolis or Columbia Mall to this one but this is the one that is closest to me. I feel they COULD do more with it but won't for some reason. Every time I come here it is always slow, including on weekends. The one good thing is that I can always find parking. Another is that there are some good stores still left like Macy's, JC Penny, Sears, American Eagle, Bath and Body Works, AT&T, Victoria's Secret, and a Chic Filet. I feel like if they brought more to the mall, then they could pull it out of the dump. Maybe an updated movie theater and some more upscale stores like a Nordstrom's or Sephora's. I can still remember being a teenager and having someone good memories of this place with friends and family. The mall really went down hill quickly and has become nothing more than a vacant shell. I left the 3 stars due to it's a hangout for criminal activity now and should be torn down. read more

I came in tonight to get a price for 5 lines to switch to AT&T , but the lady working was rude and gave me an attitude because I'm asking questions about the plans. The mall is just getting old and it doesn't have the stores that appeal to the masses anymore. I used to come here a lot as a kid and I also worked here. Traffic is pretty much always low. It seems as if the big stores Sears, Macy's and JCPenny are what's keeping the place opened. There's better choices within driving distance. Arundel Mills is probably your best bet. read more

This is still my favorite mall to go to. Marley has all the stores I go to and it's never crowded. The food court isn't too big but they have a Chick-Fil-A and that is all that is needed. The only thing keeping this just 4 stars is the movie theatre needs some remodeling and some popular stores are leaving this mall. read more

I actually quite love the Marley Station Mall and visit it almost weekly. I live in the apartments across from Marley Station and walk there daily for small things to buying multiple things for my closet, heck I've been there to just get the heels of my boots fixed. Over the past couple years living at the apartments and walking over there I see Marley Station has been trying to update itself. It's been bought by someone and I can tell they are trying to make it look more modern and add stores that might help bring people in. There's a Victoria's Secret, Hollister, American Eagle and Bath and Body Works all in one area. They have a variety of stores like the shoes repair main (Kapo's Leather and Shoe Repair) to barber shops, tattoo parlors and Jcpennys who is actually building a Sephora. This mall has slowly become my one place for everything. It's never as crowded as Annapolis and Arundel Mills and that's what I love about it. They always have sales going on and I can tell the new owners are trying to revamp it which I love. I hope they add something like urban outfitters or something that isn't common in Maryland to go to. I know with urban outfitters there is one in Towson and the inner harbor. I would like some stores that you wouldn't typically see at Annapolis or Arundel. The LED sign outside I believe does bring attention to people passing by and the listing of the stores does help with showing what is there and coming soon. The movie theater is small and needs some work but is great if you want to see a midnight premiere of a movie as the theater won't be packed but will still have people. I think something that would help improve tickets being sold is being able to buy on fandango or online. I typically look for movies on fandango and like to buy my tickets there. The food court could be improved by adding a few popular places like Starbucks or another small restaurant. I haven't been to Ruby Tuesday so I can't say anything about it I like that it is still there as I do want to go one day. As for the empty stores in the mall they need a variety of many things not just retail stores. They have a great start to this with the shoe repair, hollister, and bath and body works along with the tattoo parlor. I do with they would fill in the empty wing of the mall with some more stores and possibly a bigger store to fill in at the end like Nordstorm or Lord and Taylor, something a little bit more high end then Macy's or JcPennys just for some choice. Overall I think the mall is doing its best to upgrade itself and make it more modern and I hope the best to the new owners and hope they are able to update the Marley Station mall so I can go there for everything I need even more. This is the second most depressing mall I've ever seen in my life (the first was in Fairbanks, AK). There are very few stores...none even worth mentioning. My wife and I only come here for the movie theatre and it's not that great either. I suppose if you aren't particular about where you're shopping for clothes and you hate the eternal battle that is parking at Arundel Mills, this mall might do for you. I, personally, would rather fight that battle for the superior selection of basically everything. I've been told this used to be the place to shop back in the day (how far back, I'm not sure), but it has clearly become the place to avoid these days. This Mall is always slow and doesn't offer much for men. There are a few good shoe stores, jewelry stores, macy's, and the food court isn't terrible. It seems to be slower and slower each time I go which makes me wonder how long it will continue to be around. read more
