If you need to turn left to exit, I recommend going through the center to get to the light. The line starts much earlier than opening hour at 8 am. People started lining up at 7 am on the Saturday when I went. I will say coming early is always well worth it! They have 25 tellers so it goes quickly if you have all your paperwork ready. I also liked that when I did have to fill out paperwork, they kept me at the teller. She said we didn't have to leave because we are her customers, which was a different experience than the one in fair oaks where they would make you wait again if you didn't have the paperwork properly filled out.

I drove 35 minutes to this location (instead of the one on Johnston-Willis drive which is a real cluster). It's a small office, pleasant personnel. No one in line. After reviewing my documents I was informed they can't give me a title because I purchased my vehicle "from a big dealership. We don't deal with the big dealerships, you have to go to a main office for that." Like I said, super pleasant folks but I don't get what our tax dollars are going to for this to be open?!

This location is tucked inside the American Legion & is literally a folding table located in their main event room. I thought I walked into the wrong place, as did others behind me, but it's small size was super nice & it was epic to have no line! The person who assisted me was very nice & friendly ~ She's was 5 stars! And the convenience of being able to make an appointment & be seen right away ~ again 5 stars! And being located in close proximity to me ~ another 5 stars! The DMV gets only 1 star because of all the BS involved but it's not this location's fault, it's the way the DMV rolls. I had made an appointment & was confident that I had everything I needed to complete my transaction. Sure enough, I sat down & the lady said I needed another piece of information that was not listed on the website! What does that mean... It means that I could not complete my transaction! I prepared in advance by compiling the required documents, applying online, and scheduling an appointment. There was no one in line to check in on Monday at 3 pm so my documents were reviewed and I was given a number within a minute or so. They called the number out before I could even sit down to wait. I was then informed I was directed to the wrong desk, so that person put my number back in the system and before I could sit down yet again, a different desk number was called out for me. The guy who helped me was pleasant and we engaged in some small talk during the process, which I think is again a first for me at the DMV. I completed the eye test successfully, had my picture taken, paid the fee, and was on my merry way. This all took place within the span of 15 minutes. Enter from the building front center, exit through the side door. So easy.

I have been to this DMV office twice in the past two weeks, for different reasons. I accomplished…read morethree different transactions for me or a family member during these visits. Some with appointment, and some without an appointment. During all visits, and for all transactions, the staff at this office was very helpful and polite. On all occasions, while I stood in line waiting for my turn, I saw employee after employee going out of their way to help customers. In fact, one of my transactions was later in the afternoon and the agent worked diligently to complete my transaction even after they had closed the office to the public. I was the last one out. I offered to go another day so the agent could leave and she refused. Most of the issues that I noticed are: 1) The line for those without appointment is slow. For what I could tell, a lot of this was because people were unprepared and took a lot of the agent's time asking questions and trying to understand what they needed to do and what paperwork to bring. I always saw the agents be extremely patient and helpful. 2) The website is not good. It is not always easy to find information on the website. For example, I wanted to make an appointment to take a pesticide applicator test and I could not find it anywhere on the website. I went to the DMV without an appointment, and I found out there that I needed to make an appointment for something called "Knowledge Test", which is generic for many non-driving related tests and buried deep in the website. I think that people could arrive better prepared if the website is improved.
