I sent him a follow-up email with a bullet list of the jobs. 10 days passed and then I got the bill. I was surprised. Rick sent two guys and they were there for three hours. So the four bullet points I listed was equivalent to *6* man hours worth of work? Here's what I requested: *master bathroom toilet taking a long time to fill up (they replaced the tower and flapper and also replaced a flapper in another bathroom) *small water stain on master bedroom ceiling - find out if it is an active or old leak, prime and paint (they went in the attic and looked around. They painted over the stain but it didn't match and the renter had to repaint after they were done) *small water stain on ceiling in foyer above stairs - old leak, prime and paint (They painted over the stain but it didn't match and the renter had to repaint after they were done) *repair drywall in master bedroom closet where shelving fell down (patch up holes and paint) They also caulked 6-8 feet of crown molding (that was not on my list and even the renter said not to do it). All for $395. Still searching for a handyman....too expensive for such minor repairs and does not seem necessary for two guys to be there for 3 hours.

Anyway, we bought a house, and things started to slowly fall apart. First, the latch on the front door broke. Rick sent a guy to our house to evaluate it free of charge. He told us the parts we needed to order, and came back later to install it for a very reasonable rate. A month or two later, a different part of a different door broke, the same night our garbage disposal decided to die on us. I called up Rick again the next morning, and within a few hours a very nice guy was at our house, unscrewing the door handle to fix it. He jumped right over to the garbage disposal, and knocked that out quickly too. He even had time to look at my sad little door bell. He said he could fix it, but offered me a cheap alternative and showed me how to fix it myself with a part from Home Depot. He was here for a good 45 minutes and the cost was only $50 (probably because it required no parts, but still, I was thrilled!) He even took the time to love on my dog :) Everyone I've talked to at the company has been polite, respectful, and helpful. I don't feel like they've taken advantage of me (a young, clueless woman) at all, rather they've really worked to build a good reputation with me. I know when I have bigger jobs I'll be calling them again.

We just had exterior work completed and will be bringing them back for interior work when covid restrictions lift. He then went on to send another text blaming me for not following through as the job was to be done two weeks prior (It was actually on him as he stated in a previous phone call that I made to him that he doesn't like to time jobs as he never knows when materials will be in stock due to shortages). He did great work for me a year ago and thought I would continue to use his services, but his lack of professionalism with this job led me to end his services.

I contacted them in July 2020 to inquire about warranty coverage for rust staining and repairing a piece of the siding that had come loose. They sent a guy out to take a look. He went into my attic, took 4 pictures. Got up near the roof. He took two more pictures and advised my air conditioning unit in the attic was causing the rust stains. Did not address the loose siding at all. He was at my house for 30 minutes. They could have suggested I check the air conditioning unit based on the photos I sent them. Instead they charged me $250 for the inspection. My siding is still loose. I suppose they'll want another $250 to let me know they're not going to fix it. Plus one star for the sales and installation experience.

UPDATE: I encourage everyone to file a complaint with DCRA…read more It's simple enough to complete online. Original Review: I would never use this company for any services ever. I paid for them to replace a flat roof and repair damages caused by the water infiltration including patching where water may enter in the future and patching/replacing sheetrock and painting that was done. I also paid for them to notch, punch, and hang doors. Jenny (owner's wife) submitted a quote after Tim (owner), outlined the work and the materials in August, I paid a deposit and work began in September. The issues immediately started. Tim walks the site for the quote but is rarely if ever found on site to review materials or quality of work. They quoted me for materials that I paid for, and used INFERIOR materials. After I confronted Tim, he lied about the materials, I had to remind him that my boyfriend in fact was an architect and knew that the material in the pictures (I asked for status pictures at EOD) where not what was quoted. He never rectified this issue. My boyfriend and I had to walk the roof and have the workers fix quite a few issues that were scoped out and discussed as a part of the work including a CLEARLY distressed chimney that would have allowed for water penetration upon ANY rain. The roofers had to come back 3 times for the issues to be resolved. Tim? Once. The work inside of the house? Still not done. There are gashes in doors, My ceiling? covered in gray primer for THREE months and counting. Door frames? Split, cracked, and not fixed. I have called. I have attempted to reschedule. I have sent emails. Texted pictures and STILL have not heard back from them. Tim's preferred way of working is to have you the customer GC and quality check the work - because he is not able to or willing to do so. In fact, he attempted to blame me for not correcting the work in real time, as if I am the foreman. You're better off getting a bunch of "handy men" and throwing them in a room to do the work because that is effectively what Tim does. They will promise you the moon, and at the end of it you will have wished you never even asked them for the quote.
