Arguably the best donuts in SaMo. The trifecta of good service, product, and ambiance is in full effect here. I usually come in late, and the smell of fresh donuts wakes your taste buds up. I've tried a wide variety, from classic donuts to bacon donuts and in between. They are the perfect sweet treat, and they're all yummy. Parking is okay, and you're in close proximity of the beach. Definitely a spot to try!
We stopped in today as we are currently on a "Donut Tour" lol. The line was out the door so we had to choose quickly. We had the Famous Glazed donut which was good, light, and a little bit greasy. It was tasty and sugary just like a donut should be. We also had the regular glazed donut that was light and sweet. The store isn't very big so expect a line.
A co-worker was kind enough to bring some donuts to chase away the Monday blues. This 24-hour family-owned shop has been frying up donuts for over 40 years. Batches are made fresh throughout the day and you'll find a selection of over 100 different varieties, including Vegan & Gluten free, in addition to ONuts (like a cronut) & WowNuts (Waffle + donut hybrid). I would have loved to have tried one of those. However, the box contained a dozen of their famous glazed. The donut was large & fluffy and the gaze was light and not too sweet. It was a nice treat to get through the day. I'm intrigued to pay their store a visit and try some of the creative flavor combinations and a WowNut.

Donuts I tried: Ube Purple Yam Donut Crumb Butterfly Taro Matcha Oreo #onut Lychee Carnival Fruity Pebbles Glazed French cruller They are good but pretty sweet. It's hard to tell when each donut is fresh. I probably would limit to just a few at a time if I were a local.
This place is fantastic!!! Definitely a wonderful go-to local donut shop with the best flavors of donuts, the friendliest staff, and the cutest and coziest vibe!!
Ordered: DK'S Famous Glazed O-Nut (~$5) Aya's take: After watching The Donut King documentary, I knew I had to swing by the next time I was in SoCal. The rags to riches story of owner Ted Ngoy was intriguing enough but DK's Donut also offers their Famous Glazed O-Nut which is Los Angeles' first twist on the popular croissant and donut hybrid. They're open 24/7 and despite getting there a little before 8pm, the donut was surprisingly soft & fresh! I love the croissant/donut hybrid which makes it more pillowy and airy. As far as the glaze, it's a nostalgic, comforting, and delicately sweet layer that won't make you feel overindulgent. They have an insane selection to choose from. Worth a try if you're in the area!
This place has been here for decades, even better, now The owners are usually there, all hours. The employee told me the owners cover the late nite hours. Everything is now made to order & huge. I ordered avocado buritto & my friend got a ham egg & avocado croissant sandwich, highly recommend, away from the tourists don't be intimidated by the homeless out front.....
We got the glazed, biscoff, DKs special glazed, girl scount samoa and cinnamon roll. All were amazing and there was a many options to choose from. Only reason it's not a 5 star it's because they weren't warm unfortunately, but they were so soft and delicious
I heard a patron say she drives all the way here JUST for their donuts!! Service is awesome! Staff is welcoming and friendly. Private parking lot and also easy walk up. Place has pictures of food items and bakery display looks mouth watering delicious! This is the spot for main foods and sweet treats. I had a burger and a donut and they were so so fresh and tasty! One can eat in the place or take to go. I really plan to go again next time I am in town. And I will say just like the previous patron stated. Food is yummingly great!
We were celebrating a birthday, and wanted to make it extra special. While a lot of donut shops make good donuts, especially in various pockets of LA, none make them look quite as creative as DK's Donuts does. They have the Cookie Monster donut, and other interesting flavors such as strawberry shortcake, mango, pistachio, blueberry, and so many other creative specialty donuts, I had to drive all the way here at 7:15am on a Saturday morning. They also have regular donuts. I bought a half-a-dozen of specialty and half-a-dozen of regular options (which I could get at any donut shops). The staff here is polite, not pushy, and efficient. This place doesn't have any seating, but then again, does any donut shop? I can see myself coming here again.
Service is fast and donut options are endless! Donuts are fresh and delicious and they have their own lot for parking. They also have great hours of service!
This donut shop is open 24 hours and has a wide selection to choose from. They have donuts, breakfast, and lunch as well. Their specialty donuts are really cute!! The service is efficient . I like getting the #13 which is a croissant sandwich that comes with eggs, bacon and cheese. I pay an additional charge to get avocado and sausage added to that, and it is so delicious. It's very filling so I usually just eat half. I tried the strawberry banana smoothie, and it was decent. Since this place is open 24hrs, I'm not sure when they make the donuts and how fresh they are.
Though LA has some tough competition, DK's is vying for my top donut shop in the city, especially when it comes to specialty donuts. The Captain Crunch donut? Yum. The strawberry Nutella donut? Delicious. The chocolate chip cookie cro-nuts? To die for! When I have family or friends in town and need a treat or mid-day snack, DK's is one of my best options. Would definitely recommend to anyone! read more

I got some donuts from here off Too Good To Go and they were good, but a bit too oily for me. They were so oily that the oil bled out of the bag they were in. Other than that, the donuts were pretty, unique, and tasty. The staff member helping me out was also super nice. They also have their own designated free parking lot. Stopped by after visiting Malibu. Very good donuts and they use good ingredients too. I use to work at a donut shop for summer and winter breaks for years. Came around 4:30 pm and donut still tasted fresh. Plenty of variety of specialty donuts and some vegan options. Their DK original was my fav. read more

Wide variety of donuts. Taro - little flavor Protein - not sure how much protein is within, just tasted like a blander red velvet cake donut (really good if there actually is a lot of protein) Ube - solid light flavored cake donut Matcha cronut - little oily in flavor, frosting and oreo on top was a bit much, but it was a good size Strawberry cheesecake - really light yeast donut with strong cheesecake flavor! Classic glazed - airy and light, a little chewy! Reminds me of stans donuts in Santa Clara but a little drier. Sesame - extremely aromatic and strong flavor Rose pistachio - similar to the sesame, great flavor! Service was nice and quick. Mainly a takeout place, but there's a little bar counter for coffee customizations/napkins that we stood at to eat a few donuts quickly. read more

Service at this place is crazy i swear if your black and walk in this place they take 5 mins to ask you for help But if your white they jump to you Ive came to this donut shop since a kid I grew up in santa monica born and raised its just sick to see this is not the first time ethier i just left after my friend got his order i didnt buy anything because i refused to pay for horrible service plus 4.75 for a simple donut with additude service im good If your black stay away dont spend your money here read more
This place has the cutest looking donuts you can't find anywhere else. They're really good too. However this review is for my order from Too Good To Go. It's an app that gives you a deal for the food that's leftover at the end of the day and you get to help prevent food waste. Pretty cool concept. This place is on there for a $7 surprise bag. I got 8 different donuts in the bag. You don't get to choose the store chooses for you. 3 of them were cronuts. I was super excited because that's a great deal! However it was the worst deal lol. All of the donuts were so stale!!! I took one bite of some of them, the others were so stale I didn't want to take a bite! All of the donuts went straight into the trash. They felt like 2 day old donuts instead of donuts from the end of the day. I did coke pretty late at night like 11pm so not sure if that's why they were so bad? Maybe if you come earlier in the day it's better quality? But if you're thinking of doing the too good to go deal here I wouldn't do it again so order at your own risk. A shame because their donuts are really good when they're not rock hard old lol. read more

I have to be honest; this place has huge variety to choose from and most of the time they are good. The staff are eager to help and make good suggestions. I will return, often. Street Parking and Lot parking. Competitive Prices and they sell burgers too, which smell delicious. read more

Nice establishment. Staff is nice. First time here. Donuts are okay but I was really disappointed with the Ube donut. It didn't have a strong Ube flavor. The double dipped chocolate donut was very chocolaty but I was hoping for a double dip in the chocolate glaze. I might come back and try other flavors but they don't have any orange flavor.. just orange creamsicle. I like orange without the creamsicle. Worth another look. read more
They have something for everyone. Really great selection of donuts. I've already been here twice and I will definitely come back. I have fond memories of waking up early on Saturday morning and going to the mom and pop hardware store with my Dad and they would have donuts for their customers. I always got the french cruller. Still to this day, I must get a french cruller. Dk's makes a great french cruller. All of their donuts hit the spot! My favorites were: the cronut, cinnamon roll and french cruller. My wife really liked the Thai tea and my son liked his strawberry sprinkle. Like I said, there's really something for everyone here. I will definitely be back. Sometimes I go through a donut phase. Usually it's years in the making. Stopped by and ordered a Bavarian Cream, Mini Apple Fritter, Chocolate Raised, and a Red Velvet. All delicious, moist, and perfect. The Bavarian is a real treat. Dks' remains Santa Monica's premier spot for Artisan Doughnuts, just as it has since debuting over 4 decades ago. The donut prices are reasonable but they do have those fancy creative ones which will cost you more. Want something to savory? Their selection of sandwiches offered are varied and delicious as are their omelettes. read more

I've only come here for Too Good to Go bags, but I've noticed they always have lots of fresh donuts available, the variety is amazing, I'm always tempted to order more. Their TGTG bag is amazing, it's not just plain donuts, you get to try some of the specialty flavors too. It's helping me figure out my faves for when I get a fresh dozen. The lavender is great, strawberry cake is deliciously moist even day old, the maple bacon hits. No wonder this place is busy at all times of day! read more
The donut boxes here read "Welcome to Donut Heaven", and it's true. The most gorgeous donuts. They taste good, too. Great prices compared to some of the other gourmet donut shops. Such an incredible selection of all these exotic and delicious donuts. One of the standouts is the "lavender sky donut" with edible flowers on top. They also make a giant donut, which looks amazing for birthdays. Easy free parking in front. Fast service. A dozen of these beautiful donuts make a great gift in the pink box. It's just so difficult to choose one because they're all so pretty. read more
