I came across Sweet Sensations and thought I would give it a try. This is a relatively small place but it does offer a lot of indoor seating. My first thought when I ordered was that the price per donut was high for the size and style of donut. For example, a classic blueberry donut was over $1, which I thought was pretty pricey for a basic donut. I left with 4 donuts for around $6. I also didn't love the size of the classic donuts, they are relatively small. However, once I tried my donuts I was pleasantly surprised on their taste and consistency. My search for classic donuts will not end here.

Despite this, I was able to find one that looked pretty good, so I tried the Alice in Wonderland. The difference being the toppings -- the vegan ones have toppings that are, well, vegan. They also have a handful of gluten free donuts. My donut was pretty good, but I wish they would've offered to heat it up just for a few seconds, especially since I ate it in-house. The inside is pretty spacious with some interesting art. In addition to donuts, they offer avocado toast, two types of burritos and a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. Overall, worth checking out especially if you're undecided between trying the donuts or more traditional breakfast items.

The service (thanks to Riggen) was as sparkling as the donut case and interior of the shop is clean and although we planned to share a donut, we found much to our surprise that they make cinnamon rolls too. Have they always and we just didn't notice? Regardless, today one of those was our choice. My 100% Italian heritage husband who grew up in an Italian neighborhood in Brooklyn never has quite warmed up to cinnamon rolls, a staple of my WASP Portland-Seattle upbringing so it is usual that if we order one to share then I will get the lion's share. But as we sipped our Americano's and enjoyed this one, I nearly had to stab his hand with my plastic fork to keep him from eating some of my half. Another great surprise on this visit was their donut holes, offered in a bag and little clear container, made with their sour cream cake donut batter! Samples were offered on the counter and SO good that I thought about picking up a container before we left but a woman came in while we were eating and sipping, tasted the sample and bought the bag and every one of the six or seven containers of them to take away with her. Yes, they are that good. Other details in my previous review comments from 2023.
