Seeing that the reviews were excellent, we decided to give it a try. We were stunned with the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to help us even though we did not speak French. The food was outstanding beginning with the appetizer - French fries with bacon and cheese. Our mains were even better along with an outstanding bottle of wine picked with the help of our waiter. Poni was a Michelin star restaurant to us!

I was seated in the backroom which was all high tables and very quiet. Notre Pâté en croûte - This was great. A slice of bread with chunks of duck and other meat with pickled items on the side (which I always love!) and a little bit of lettuce. It is not like a spreadable paté. Capra (salade) - this was a large salad with three large fried goat cheese balls. I had to take much of it with me. It has a variety of ingredients which don't necessarily go together but you can mix and match with each bite. They have a QR code to their website for the English menu if you need. I was stopped at the door asking if I paid which was strange because the tables in my section all have QR codes on them to pay before leaving. Do Parisians not use these? Next time: I'll sit upstairs and try some other dishes.

It's a very American-themed breakfast spot in Paris, which was surprising. The restuarant is bright and cheerful, and the staff are all very friendly. While every other restaurant in Paris greets you with "Bonjour," Holybelly greets you with a "hey guys." It stands out. Holybelly is popular so we hada small wait to be seated, but not too long of a line. For food, I had their signature stack wtih all of the trimmings, pancakes (delcious and cooked perfectly), eggs (no subs for sunny side up but got them fried hard), delicious bacon, bourbon syrup, and sauteed mushrooms (excellent), and ordered a side of scrambled eggs since I could not sub the eggs. Everything was really, really good! I also got an iced coffee and mimosa. I highly recommend and would definitely return to Holybelly!

I opted for the orange one which included some carrot and turmeric. There was a line of people waiting out the door for a table, which moved super quickly. The scrambled eggs showed up a little bit runnier than I would've liked, but that's just my personal preference. The hash browns were interesting, in a puck with a crispy outside. All in all, this was a fantastic breakfast. The service was very friendly here.

And that would be very, very sad. It's not only a great place for the usual appetizers, which we saw several enjoying, but is an EXCELLENT place to try French wine without a *sniff* of pretention. Once finding we were from CA, the owner/manager/main person there was not only interested, but clearly noting differences detected by us. Suggesting other wines based on this. Hitting it solidly out of the park when we asked to get *French* wines, and explaining why they were different. He was also friendly and charming, and is a strong reason while we'll be back. That, and his helpful knowledge of the Bandol region's best.

A much different flavor compared to the California wine that I'm used to drinking, but I really liked it. The owner/manager was very interested to hear our take on the wines in France vs. California's. They have a small selection of appetizers, charcuterie plates, and a couple of warm dishes to go with your vino. However, we just stuck with drinking the night we were there. Very reasonable prices on both the wine and food. Cool atmosphere and very pleasant, snob free service. If I lived in Paris I'd probably be a regular.

Fantastic casual and comfortable bar/tapas place with a cool "cave" downstairs that is literally a cave! The Yelp event was all downstairs in the cozy bar with an adjoining lounge next to the gated and padlocked stock of liquor. I had the drink called "Mary Used To Smoke" and it was like drinking a smoky meal in a glass (think a thin gazpacho)! Wonderful for those who don't want something sweet but prefer something aromatic to accompany their food. Some thought it was too strong, but I preferred it to the sweeter fruitier Ruby Caroll. We got tastes of the tapas; bites of croque monsieur, jambon, and tuna. We had one sweet bite I didn't care for, but others loved it (guess you can tell I'm not really a sweet eater)! Definitely an address to go for drinks (they serve coffees too) or bites when you want some place that's unique and fun with nice service (they were swamped and still smiled)!

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, especially considering our low levels of French. The decor is charming and warm, and downstairs is a very cool layout of cozy alcoves for groups. I could sit here for hours - and I think we did sit there for three or so. The aperitivo spread was well worth the wait: all-you-can-eat prosciutto/mortadella, homemade chips and pickles, pickled salad wraps, mustard seed roast potatoes, and an egg tart. Clearly I sampled it all... and it was all so high quality and delicious, I couldn't believe it was free! Cocktails were a euro less during happy hour, and are reasonable for the strength and quantity otherwise.
