    Bedroom Fireplace Tile
    Alanson- H.

Dave installed tile around a two way (open in two rooms) gas fireplace in both the living room side and the bedroom side. The fireplace was not installed correctly, so he first replaced the existing sheetrock with cement board. He then replaced the existing tile hearth (which was all cracked) because it had been glued directly to the slab. He mounted the new hearth tile on a mastic which would protect it from cracking as the house settled. He removed the illegally placed mantel (too close the the fireplace) and installed tile around the fireplace. He cleaned up after his work every day. He talked extensively with us about what we wanted done, explaining fully what his process was. We had to make two changes to what we originally agreed on and he charged us very little for the changes (which he did cheerfully). He had to work two days longer than he thought he would, but this is a man who wants things to be perfect, not just good, with a totally satisfied customer. His finished work is beautiful. Thank you Dave.

DJ Tile did a brick racing backsplash in our guest bathroom and a tile floor in another bathroom. Excellent work! Dave is a really nice guy, takes his time to do quality work.

    Finished

Great work and great attention to detail. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He even worked with the fabricators for the granite to get something fixed we would have never known about without his help. His work came out amazing and I would recommend him any day. We have more projects down the road and will definitely be calling Dave back.

Dave did a fantastic job installing our tile floor. He was helpful when it came to finding the tiles we liked. He was professional from start to finish. Thank you Dave.

    Kitchen backsplash 9-2016.

Bill did various remodeling items including: 1) Complete bathroom remodel in 1 bath, 2) remodel and convert a 1/2 bath into a full bath by adding a shower, 3) adding new windows, 4) paint interior, 5) new water heater. All throughout the process he was very easy to communicate with and listened to what we were looking for and provided awesome suggestions, many that we implemented. I was very particular about the type of windows to be installed, due to thermal / sun / heat ratings and he worked with me and his supplier to ensure I received the windows that met my specifications. I made several changes after our original contract was signed, and Bill was fair in his change order pricing and was good about documenting the changes so there were no surprises at the end. Bill handled all of the permit issues, including engineered drawings, submission of permits, and inspections. Very smooth process. Bill is a professional and I'd certainly hire him again for any future work needs.

The initial consult was professionally conducted, and we were happy to sign right then and there to get things moving. Everything, start to finish, went like clockwork. Communication was good, cleanliness was maintained from demo to last touches, and the employees were top of the line in their professionalism. We had Aleksei Alaev do the construction and installation work and he was just the best. Handled everything really well, and his work is top shelf. Clean lines everywhere, nothing rushed or half-done. Highly recommend anyone thinking of a bathroom remodel - call Rose! Edited to add photograph and also add that we did the painting ourselves, after Rose's team were done. So any imperfections in the paint are on us! LOL PS: We call this room the Bath Cave because it was built into one part of a framed in porch on our very old (1890) house. The window is just for light and will be covered with a privacy film too.

A few years ago, I chose Rose Remodeling to do a full remodel of my primary bathroom. I was so…read moretraumatized by the nightmare experience that I couldn't bring myself to write a review, even though I felt prospective customers should hear from all sides, including those with horrible experiences. I got duped by the rosy reviews, not realizing those high ratings weren't necessarily representative of all their clients. Their bid was far higher than other contractors', but I mistakenly believed a higher price meant higher quality, and the sales rep, Justice, was very nice, so I chose this company. However, once the contract was signed, my bathroom was assigned to a project manager who seemed primarily focused on making sure I paid at each stage of the remodel. To my surprise, he never once stepped into my house to check the work. Rose Remodeling advertised itself as family-run, so I thought they would be involved in the work or at least oversee it closely. Boy, was I wrong. They subcontract to people who spoke limited English, so I couldn't communicate with them properly. To make matters worse, they let a trainee do most of the grout work on my shower wall, floor, and wainscoting. The grout lines were bumpy and uneven, with bubbles and cracks. When I complained, the project manager pointed out that grout lines are never perfect, implying I was the problem and a perfectionist, when 99% of the work was so bad that an average DIYer could have done better. I was forced to monitor the so-called subcontractors and contact the project manager (via phone or email because he never once came to the job site or meet me in person) again and again to redo sections. They never reviewed all their work and simply fixed everything. Each time, they only fixed the specific spot I marked with painter's tape. It felt like they were always trying to get away with shoddy work. I had to point out every grossly flawed detail for them to fix that one detail. They simply didn't want to do the right thing, which was to deliver quality work. It was such a hassle working with them. Another example: my mirror was higher on one side, and I had to fight with them to redo it multiple times until it looked level. These are just a few examples of the struggles. A week after I paid in full and began walking on the new tile floor, cracks started showing up immediately. I was so distraught after exhausting all my energy getting other parts of the remodel up to par that I just couldn't deal with them. It took a year, and a friend's help confronting them, before I finally got them to fix more grout issues. A year later, I finally met a competent contractor at their office, who came to my house the next day to inspect my issues. He was shocked at the lack of quality in my job, and for the first time, I got an apology and an acknowledgment of the nightmare I'd lived through. (The original project manager, Graham, never apologized for the problems and never took the time to supervise the subcontractors. Apparently, it was my job if I didn't want crappy workmanship.) In summary, if you want to pay extra high price to gamble on Rose Remodeling, you may get lucky and be assigned a better subcontractor and better project manager or you may end up with ones like those assigned to my bathroom. In the end they did finally fix most things but i should not have paid a high price to suffer this nightmare remodel. Ps I have too many photos to post but this is example of the workmanship they tried to dump on me.

From day one, we were impressed with Eric who came to look at our project and give us an estimate. He was very professional, prompt, friendly, organized, knowledgeable about products, scope of work, and gave us a very impressive timeline. When we received our contract, it was just as he said it would be, and the scope of work included everything we requested. After the contract was signed, the owner of Vostok, Alex, arrived with the demolition crew. The crew was very careful to cover the adjacent bedroom furniture and flooring. The bathroom work area was closed off with plastic, and the crew was very tidy while they worked. The old bathroom was demolished ASAP. Alex is very knowledgeable and skilled. Being here was several weeks, I worked from hime to let them have access to the backyard and inside the house for their needed repairs. They all worked without issue and concern, and provided necessary updates when available. Communication with the city for permits was at issue at first, and an initial inspection was missed. As myself and the team weren't aware it was taking place at that specific time. 2nd inspection, the inspector was several hrs late and made the contractors wait all day, and no work could get done that day. Inspections after were good. Only issues I noted were a number of nails left out in my yard, all in the same area vicinity. Where my dog also goes out to walk, so that was a little concern. But there was nothing else that occured, and clean up for was good before and after. Total work - $18k+
