Service: sweet gal took our order over the phone, was patient in helping us decide between 2 pizzas as we were first timers and from out of town. She was also courteous when we arrived. Ambiance: it's roadside dinning. We had our dog with us and it was perfect. They have a row of wooden picnic tables but they felt more like for kids. One of the wooden tables is bigger though. I preferred the iron/metal table which we were able to score. Id say it's very family friendly no frills. Experience: we were very grateful to read all the yelpers review which told us about people who loved the pizza but were so angry about the time it took to be served. Because of that, as we were driving back to the city of Virgin after visiting the horseshoe bend in Paige Arizona, we were able to call in well in advance to place that order. What I put together over the phone was they had time slots mapped out. Upon arriving, I saw a sheet made that helps keep things consistent. It was a sheet with time slots and blank spaces below. The business has an algorithm for how fast they can shell out pizzas and you get what you get for how their flow of customers and size orders for the day. There was hardly a line there but a steady flow people coming to pick up or sit down and eat, so do make sure to CALL AHEAD. Pizzas are MADE TO ORDER, no premade items sitting around. The dough was enjoyable, included leoparding (dough rise marks) and had a slight chew in the bite. It was about 14 inches. We had not ate all day and there was 2 of us. No left overs/to-go. We had the Chicken Bacon Ranch but after arriving/ordering I wished I would have saw the "Hurricane". It's a meatier choice. Apparently the yelpers photos were old and didn't reflect all the current pizzas. I'll include photos of the most up-to-date menu on in this review. I'd definite come back again on my next trip to Zion and The Wave. I'd probably try the hurricane and have one of their specialty lemonades. Looking forward!

The pizza here is ridiculously good. I was in town for the weekend and remembered this place was on a list of one of the best pizza quality in the US. I called in and drove 30 min from St. George. Rolled in first thing as they opened. It's a small wood fired outdoor shack. Both workers were very friendly. I ordered a margarite pizza and siciliano with sausages, and the Nutella pizza. All of them were delicious. My kids loved the Nutella pizza. First off, the quality of the bread, cheese and ingredients is high end. And the price is reasonable. You get so much more for what you pay for. Best pizza easily in Utah and probably the best pizza I've ever had. Worth a long drive for!!

My friends and I called ahead before driving to our cabin for the evening, and it was ready in about 30 mins. The wagon is very cute and the owner was super nice - simple yet effective operation! We got 1/2 Margherita, 1/2 BBQ chicken and it was very yummy/perfect after a long day of exploring the parks!

Always love getting pizza here whenever we are in town to hike in Zion! Their pizza is amazing especially the Margherita pizza with the salt rim! It's so easy to place an order by phone or to just swing by. Their location outdoor with string lights and with a brick oven that gives their pizzas a great Smokey flavor.

This place came highly recommended by a friend, so we went out of our way to pay them a visit. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Ordered a Sicilian and Margarita. The Sicilian only had 5-6 pieces of sausage per slice and there were no salt on the margarita's crust. The crust was not 'airy' like other visitors posted here; kind of chewy. How would I rate this place? Perhaps between Little Caesar and Papa John. For $15 per pizza, completely not worth it. I WILL NEVER go out of my way to visit them again, but if I'm in the neighborhood, I would give them another shot. Best of luck.

THIS PIZZA IS BUSSIINNNNN!!!! I got the margarita pizza with pepperoni ($12) and it was soooo good!! They stop taking orders at 8 PM but they continue making the pizza, I got mine at 9:15. Make sure to order ahead they get really busy. 10/10

Great service, the pizza was ready on time, and it was delish!! And awesome prices! We got 1/2 Chicken bacon ranch and 1/2 Sicilian add pepperoni. The CBR was wayyy better (I was nervous about the bbq sauce on it, but it makes it!) 10/10 for sure. The Sicilian was good, but nothing "special" compared to the CBR. $13 total. Can't beat it!

We called in an order ahead of time. Very nice and kind folks running this small oThey gave us a pick up time and they were ON TIME! So we left with two fresh, hot pizzas (14"). Both were very tasty and satisfying! Plus, they are very inexpensive. If you're tired of dropping big bucks on meals while traveling, you should check out the Pizza Wagon!

This is a top notch establishment. Their customer service is unbeatable and the pizza is mouth watering delicious. We got pizza two nights in a row the two nights we were in hurricane, that's how insanely good it was. Call ahead to reserve your pizza time cause it's popular and the slots fill up fast. The pizza was ready right when they said it would be and they brought it right to our car. The crust is the perfect amount of chew and crisp to it and their menu is creative and delicious. Do your tastebuds a favor and eat this pizza! Be careful when putting the place in Apple Maps cause it is farther down the street than the address says and is closer to the wagon museum, past the Sinclair gas station.

Really cool family owned business that is basically a pizza oven in a parking lot. They have some tables but it would be smart to call ahead and order so you can pick it up and take it home. Pizzas were not as filling as I thought they'd be but they were really good. Not the best brick oven pizza I've had, but I'd definitely come back! I would just order a few more pizzas. You can do half and half of different pizzas. The 3 cheese was good, really loved the pesto added to it. Italian cowboy was a great bbq pizza. Pepperoni was a little underwhelming (and I love pepperoni so I was kinda bummed). The margarita was great. Overall a great local place to get pizza from! read more

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G ! Just simply amazing wood fire pizza in a parking lot! I love place like this that you can only experience when you travel and one of a kind. This pizza spot seems to run by a family. Piza fire up by the father, and one kid knit the dough and the other take others. They open short hours and we happened to be there at the time that they were opened, so of course we went ahead and try it out. Upon arrival, I saw there was barely anyone there. I thought to myself, "score! No lines!" Sure no lines, but that doesn't mean no wait. The wait time was about an hour. And since our hotel was only few minutes away. We decided to went ahead and order , go back to shower at the hotel and come back to sit down to eat. I am so glad that we waited it out. It was so worth it. It is probably three best pizza I ever had. We ordered half Italian cowboy and half margherita pizza. And it only cost us $9 for a big pizza enough to share with 3 people. Very well worth. The Italian cowboy was so so good. The BBQ sauce with the sauteed onion was delicious. I didn't think I would like that more than the margherita. But it has good flavor to it. And for the margherita, they use fresh mozzarella, so the dough is a bit less dry and cooked as the Italian cowboy. But it is still a very good pizza. I enjoyed every single bite of it. We set there in the parking lot and enjoyed our pizza with the sunset. This is what traveling is for. The fondest memory with amazing food and just a simple sunset . read more

We were visiting friends in a near by town, we decided to head out for the day and try the pizza place because I saw it on a list of "Top 100 pizzas in the US", a yelp blog actually... It was listed at 23/100, so we were super excited to try this pizza. When we got there, we were told it was about a two hour wait. which was disappointing because we were starving. We decided to place an order and then come back to pick it up two hours later. We went and killed some time at walmart, got drinks, etc. Did not realize it was literally a wagon outside that had only a few metal tables to sit at. I should have looked at pictures of this place first. I didn't know that there wasn't any inside seating or tents. I got so sun burnt. For as long as we waited for our food, it wasn't good. It looked okay, but we just felt like it was just missing something. The flavor was off on the sausage too. read more

This is the best pizza in the whole St George/Hurricane area. I bring the family here every Saturday. They are busy so call ahead with your order by a couple hours. It's all outdoors and you can see them cook in the wood fired oven. Our favorite pizzas are the Cowboy and the Margherita. Top it off with the dessert pizza or a shaved ice from the truck next door. read more

Heard great things just haven't eaten there yet. Went there and tried to order; it was a three hour wait!!! So they must be good. They recommend placing order over phone and or go waaaay before you're hungry because you might have to come back to get it hours later. I was coming back from my hike from Zion in Utah and found this little wood fired oven pizza along the highway. I had the Italian Cowboy and Pepperoni Pizza all for $10 only! For the amount you pay and the portion you get, this is really a great value. The flavor on the Italian Cowboy is so good and the classic pepperoni is also spot on. The pizza is cooked in a wood fired oven and you can definitely taste the difference with other chain pizza places. The service is nice and friendly, and a great local family owned business. Highly recommend this pizza place if you are in town. read more

This is some really amazing wood fire pizza!! Super cute little spot. It has a large sign in the front and you park in the parking lot. You can also call ahead and order but we chose to eat around 3 pm and there was no wait when we drove up and ordered. It's cooked right in front of you. Definitely would recommend. read more

Great pizza. Has a crisp thin crust. Be aware tho this place isn't exactly fast. The pizza cooked in a pizza oven so only two pizzas can be cooked at a time. But it's definitely worth the wait. The Nutella dessert pizza is especially good. It's a small little wooden canopy with three outdoor picnic tables for seating. It looks like it's ran by a little family. read more

Fairly-priced, fresh pizza! It's as good as it gets! I'm a bit of a pizza connoisseur (have had all different types across the US and abroad in Italy), and I think this place takes the cake for Toquerville/La Verkin/Hurricane/Washington/St. George. Do they have the best crust I've ever tasted? No, they're probably not importing 00 flour, but I still think it's some darn good pizza! Would definitely recommend this place to others. Located across Dairy Queen! You can get a whole pizza that's cooked with fire for under $10. That is unheard of. I ordered the pepperoni pizza. It tasted good; the way the pepperoni cooked with the cheese was decent. The employees were really friendly and service was great. I'm surprise with pizza that taste better than a chain they don't charge much. Something you want to try if you're in the area. read more

This place is a local favorite!! Considering pizza options in the area, I recommend to check them out. The pizza tastes home made. The ingredients were very fresh. We went with traditional pepperoni, it was delicious. The pizza had a wood fire taste to the dough, and you can tell that it was made with a lot of love. Tip: call them & order your pizza in advance. So so delicious! Such a cool idea for a pizza place. We called ahead and they made our pizza right before they closed. The pizza was very delicious! You must stop here while I'm town. There is a reason the wait to pick up my food was so long: this pizza is the ideal mix of price, quantity, and quality. The crust was incredible, the sauce perfectly seasoned, and the toppings fresh. The menu is simple, no frills, which makes it easy. Highly highly recommend read more

I couldn't ask for anything better, pizza from a stand on the side of road and from really nice people. I was somewhat surprised by how inexpensive it was. I thought she said it was $18.00 when she rang me up but it was ACTUALLY $8. Definitely would pay more. I stopped here at 8:15 pm on Saturday and the we're wrapping up for the day. I was expecting for them to say they were closed and me to go on my way but the young lady offered to make a pizza for me anyways because they were still finishing a couple other orders. WOW! One of the most delicious homemade pizza I have had! Look for a small stand/food truck! My friend and I had a huge pizza craving after our long hike in Zion National Park, and we found this place! It's about 20 miles away from the park (30 min drive) but we were so glad that we came by. This place is amazing because: 1) Pizza is freshly made! They knead the dough in front of ya. 2) Amazing flavors! Recommend their ITALIAN SAUSAGE (if you like BBQ and something on the sweeter side), and SICILIAN (very traditional pizza). 3) You can split the pizza into 2 flavors. Each half is 3 slices. 4) So affordable! Each pizza is $8 or 9. 5) Super friendly and fast service! Our pizza was ready in 8 minutes and the owner even told us to wait in our car and delivered the pizza himself after it was done. Please tip them to keep them there! read more

Having moved here from the West Coast we have been pizza deprived. We were regulars at an amazing Brooklyn style pizza place. We have tried all the top rated pizzas in Southern Utah and they are either over priced and not good enough. We were losing our faith in ever finding good pizza. After closing my eyes and taking a bite of the Pizza Wagons Margherita Pizza I was transported to Italy. So while some of you may already know this as a stop to/from Zion's in Hurricane that is across the road from the DQ and a block up from the Coral Cliffs Cinema -- it's much more than that. They are the only pizza must have in Southern Utah. If you don't care about the taste of your pizza and want cheap pizza go to Costco. The Pizza Wagon pizzas are ten times better and less money than Costco. In summary, the Pizza Wagon dough and toppings make for the best pizza in Southern Utah. read more

BEST. PIZZA. EVER. Who would have thought that this little hole in the wall would make such delicious pizza?? My friend and I were in the area for a few days to visit Zion National Park, and we came here multiple days in a row, and I am still craving it! The service was friendly, fast, and consistent. The pizzas were creative, fresh, and expertly made. What more could someone want?! As a cherry on top, the prices were extremely reasonable. At about $9 per pizza, the portion was enough for two, and the toppings were generous. I crave the pizza from here all the time now, and I am already looking forward to the next time I can stop by this town to get some pizza. read more

I love pizza so I am biased however for a stone fire pizza cart it was pretty good on the side of the road in hurricane downtown. However, I am far less picky than my dad and he didn't really like it. Mostly because I think the pricing is a bit high for what you get. Eat it there in the parking lot, the condensation kills the pizza making it extremely soggy. The BBQ pizza is the only thing carrying this as '4th in the nation'. read more

The pizza-y sauce and mozzarella stayed in the background and let the greek side takeover. The feta cheese, tzatziki sauce and fresh tomatoes are added on top after baking. I asked for no tomatoes (don't like them fresh/uncooked). After 2 pieces I had my fill of the gyro pizza. I was losing track of the individual gyro flavors by that time. (I think I had the same flavor overload while trying the Greek pizza). Hope it will reheat well tomorrow but there might be a culinary reason they wait to put the tzatziki sauce & feta on after baking. The pizza crust here is as good as a pita to carry the greek gyro fixings to my mouth. Always have encountered friendly staff here and Kenedy P at the counter was efficient in taking our order. Love the little outdoor patio since we usually bring our dog. Wow they are ready to cook a lot of pizzas with all the firewood that's stacked up there! Yum yum. Can't wait but I'll either go back to my prior "usual " of a Margheroni or try another of their tasty offerings.

He showed up at the time promised (2 hours before service) to set up his equipment and as soon as service started, the pizzas kept coming out for 2 hours. As recommended, I also had some other food items for my guests (Green salad, pasta salad, fruit). Everyone loved the pizzas! It was really fun to watch Grant make the pizzas - it was entertainment for both the kids and the adults! We booked the Vespa Party, which included 4 types of pizzas (Margherita, Pepperoni, Cheese, Margh-a-Meata - which is a combination of the Margherita & Pepperoni Pizzas.) I understand that this was the least expensive package, but I still wish that there was more variety on the menu. Essentially, the pizzas in this package were made of all the same ingredients so everything just started tasting the same after a couple of slices. For $100 more, you can add two specialty pizzas to the menu which provides more variety for your guests. It would just be great if there was another pizza on the vespa menu that used different ingredients (sausage for example). And the only issue I had with the pizzas was that some were burnt on the bottom. And that burnt taste was extremely bitter and unpleasant. Overall, I would definitely recommend Pettola Pizza. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again. They have recently added "pig roast" to their menu and being the porker that I am, I definitely want to try it! Maybe for a luau themed party.

i saw the yelp feedback and decided to go to this place for pizza and discovered that this business is a roadside food stand located in a parking lot.... it was cold outside but we ordered three pies. while waiting and watching the pizzas being made from scratch, I spoke to the man operating the oven. he told me about the secrets to great pizzas and had some wise words about family and life in southern utah. we grabbed the pizzas and walked back across the road to our hotel. when i took my first bite i was amazed at the incredible fresh flavor, crispy and slightly chewy crust and the perfect ratio of sauce to ingredients to crust. if you find yourself in hurricane, you owe it to yourself to try dixie pizza. read more

Wood fire pizza oven this will get you four star by itself. They put the pizza over the firewood at the end to get the wood chip flavor around the edge. The amount of toppings are fair. I had the Hawaiian Pizza, my favorite. This is simply a one cart operation. Do they have a health permit? At $8 with tax $9, this is fair. I like this place. It is simply not love. read more
