Liver was delicious. Service was spectacular. Love that 'ole time feel..very nostalgic

Exterior and interior are clean and in good repair. I held the door for a LOL and she thanked me warmly. Maitre d' greeted me warmly and apologized for the short delay while she seated the preceding diners. The waitress was amazing! Like always. She was attentive, but not intrusive. She took my order and repeated my two special requests to ensure they were correct. I barely had enough time to savor the cornbread when she returned with my meal. The presentation is very good. The aromas are superb! The flavors were phenom! The waitress brought a to-go box before I asked. A gentleman was about to enter. I waited so I wouldn't hit him with the door. He was exceptionally gracious, said thank you, held the door for me, and wished me a great TEXAS day! DC is a great place to dine!

Texarkana!! If you can handle the pictures of our 45 President dressed up as Rocky, them I guess your stomach it stronger than mine. CFS was good. Mashed potatoes, mac and cheese were mediocre at best. Pie was from and can. Covid protocols were surprisingly in place. Good enough for midnight grub.

Salmon croquettes, turnip greens, and fried okra.

The chicken fried steak is excellent as is the cream gravy. The vegetables, salads and other sides leave a lot to be desired.

Portions are huge, the staff greet you the moment you walk in, and after a few visits, I swear they'll have to roll me out the door (and I'll be smiling the whole way). The fried pickles and cheese curds? Absolutely incredible--perfectly crispy on the outside and addictive. The pancakes are massive yet light and fluffy, the bacon is perfectly crispy, and my coffee cup never runs dry. Honestly, with all this good food, they were seducing me into doing a happy dance right there at the table. Now, back to the star of the show: that chicken fried steak. It's huge, the meat is melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the coating is seasoned perfectly--crispy enough that even my leftovers stayed crunchy after days in the fridge and a spin in the microwave. Pure comfort food bliss. And let's not forget the biscuits and gravy--heavenly! I got my gravy on the side so I could dip both my biscuit and my chicken fried steak. Best decision ever. Texas Chuck Wagon is comfort food done right, with service that makes you feel like family. I'll be back... again and again (and again).

A Must-Try Spot for Brunch Lovers!…read more This place quickly became one of my favorite spots for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The atmosphere is upbeat and welcoming--perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a solo meal with great vibes. The food? Fantastic. The menu is creative, fresh, and full of unique flavors that set it apart from your typical brunch fare. There are tons of thoughtful gluten-free options that actually taste amazing--not just the bare minimum. From inventive egg dishes to seasonal veggie sides, every bite felt intentional and flavorful. The service was equally impressive--friendly, knowledgeable, and super accommodating. Our server made great suggestions and made sure everything was just right, including pointing out which dishes could be made gluten-free. Bottom line: If you're looking for a fun, flavorful, and welcoming place for brunch or lunch, this one is worth every visit. I'll definitely be coming back!

Ignore the lower star reviews bc they have nothing to do with quality (and no, the food is not bland)! If you want fancy highly processed and over seasoned gut burning food, don't go here - go to an impersonal restaurant serving commercial processed foods. Mother Kelley's is true homestyle flavors, meaning it's not fancy but it's home cooked comfort food (real ingredients) like my grandmother's was (mid 20th century); you'll love it!

Need breakfast, snacks, gas, or fuel for your mower or camper? Apparently this is your stop. We visited while in town from Florida seeing family, and two locals in our group specifically recommended it. Even they commented that service was unusually slow that morning and apologized on behalf of the restaurant because apparently this wasn't the norm. It took about 10 minutes for someone to greet us and take drink orders, and probably another 30 minutes for food to arrive. Thankfully, the staff was very friendly throughout the experience. The food itself was delicious. The pancakes were massive -- literally the size of an adult's head -- fluffy, sweet, buttery, and almost tasted lightly fried around the edges in the best possible way with that little bit of crisp texture. Eggs were cooked perfectly, and I appreciated that the bacon was clearly made to each person's preference since some in our group ordered extra crispy while others preferred traditional-style bacon. Not a fancy place by any means, but definitely one of those local spots that feels woven into the community.
