There's hazmat fee... which by the way, is not state law. It's just something they tack onto every customer and another fee cannot figure out which took me from one $169 to a whopping $195 it was not worth my time to debate or bring it up, I guess its a common practice to slide in the additional charges in the auto repair industry at the end, and I think like many I'll just never go back there ever. Being transparent with the final price would be appropriate, especially when I brought it up in terms of my experiences in the past in brief. It is just the ethical thing to do. But perhaps it's worth it to them to just get one off customers who won't ever return because they felt like there was low level deception occurring You should be completely transparent in the final price or lose a potentially loyal customer.
