These guys are the epitome of shady auto shops. After I got my car back (3 days later than they said it would be ready) $70 worth of coupons were missing from my car. After already being unsatisfied with their services my battery was dead the next day, and the 'maintenance required' light was blinking on my dashboard. ON TOP of all that, the front desk lady was disrespectful and demeaning. But I will give the owner Doug credit. He was very kind. Took my vehicle in for a small repair at the right rear panel. I paid D&D in advance for the work. 3 months later the work was only partially done. The owner kept making excuses, he could not keep any help, I'll have it done new week etc. Seems he would only work on the vehicles that had to be done so he could collect his money. When I decided to take my car to another shop, Doug hurried to finish his work but did a terrible job. He dented my hood and did nothing about it. He let it go out that way and told me I didn't give him enough time. 3 months not enough time? An experience I would not wish on anyone. read more

I think we can all agree we hate insurance. My truck got rear ended and while it initially drove away from the accident okay, it was binding up and honestly not safe to drive. The adjuster who came to assess it for the insurance did not take that into account for his estimate. The insurance said to take it to a body shop and they could bill for a supplement since it was not addresses in the initial assessment. When I came to D & D, I told him about the driving issue I was having and that it wasn't in the initial assessment but it needed to be. The owner told me they have a great mechanic and would get it taken care of. He also told me about how he will fight for you with insurance. He made me feel like he would help me get this all taken care of. He did not. When I dropped the vehicle off, I reminded him of the issue and he said he remembered. The work was done really quickly! Then I went to pick it up. When I went to pick it up, they were a hot mess barely holding it together! They could barely give me the time of day. Come to find out, they never addressed the driving issue. When I was trying to voice my concerns about picking it up and no longer having it under an insurance claim, they told me that couldn't do anything. They had lost 2 employees that day and I understand that is hard, but I need this situation remedied. The receptionist even told me that she didn't take notes while doing the assessment so she never wrote down my concerns about the driving issues. So no one felt the need to take care of them. I left the vehicle there because they said they'd take it for an assessment with the mechanic. They didn't. They called me the next day and told me to pick up my truck or they'd charge me storage fees. I come to pick it up and they won't release it to me. Originally they told me they would bill everything through insurance. I get there and they said they needed my voided check. Why would I even keep a voided check? It's past 90 days so it's a voided check and it's addressed to me. How am I intuitively supposed to know you want that check? And if you did want it, why didn't you tell me that on the phone? Before I left work and had to wait 45 for you to get confirmation from the insurance. That way you could have checked with the insurance before I got there and I could have immediately left with my vehicle. Overall, I think this business lacks some serious professionalism. They talk a big game and under deliver. I would recommend avoiding this place at all costs. read more

Poor workmanship and poor customer service. My paint job has runs, body parts had broken fasteners where there was no damage from being removed. Didn't order a moulding they damaged during repairs although they said they did. Just not pleased with the final results. The owner is so negative about the business and just complains to his customers about wanting to retire if he can find someone to buy him out. His heart is just not into pleasing his customers. read more

This is the second time I've been to D&D and BOTH times they have done an excellent job with my vehicles. They have always been so quick and diligent in the turnaround process and respectful of my time and needs as well. They kept the damaged rocker at the shop, so I was able to continue using my vehicle in the meantime. Kirsten continued to update me throughout the process. The next thing I know, two days after taking my car in, Kirsten calls and the part is painted, fixed up, and ready to be installed! As soon as I arrived, they took my car in, attached the part, and I drove right off the lot, not 20 minutes later! The paint match was flawless as well! It's a shame you can't do negative stars. These people are shisters! We went in for an insurance claim. They knew we were having engine troubles that needed to be repaired as well as body work repairs. They call us several days later to pick it up and the only work done was the body work and even that was subpar. For that they claimed the entire insurance estimate of $3400+. Two other shops claimed the bodywork should run under $1,200. Did they even look at the engine? ...Nope this is where a slew of excuses start rattling off, I've only been here a year, I started after my divorce, I never got trained, I don't know what I'm doing, I was a stay at home Mom of 3 before this.... Don't tell my boss. We lost 3 employees today, I didn't make notes when you first came in and we don't even have a mechanic here, we can send it out to an outside company... All along no-one was coming out of the office to address our problems or resolve the issues. Too, too many more excuses to mention here. We leave the vehicle to be assessed and within 20 minutes get a call from the insurance company stating that D&D called them to say that none of the mechanical issues were related to the wreck. Interesting, they don't have a mechanic to do diagnostics and 20 minutes would never given them enough time to take it to an outside mechanic to get a diagnostic. We never had an exhaust or brake problem before this accident! Per the insurance company, they already submitted their claim which came out to the penny, the full amount of the estimate, they needed to support their valuation for the work done. Now it is up to us to prove the issues are due to the accident. Bottom line DO NOT use D&D Autoworks and Collision unless you have a lot of extra time and money to waste on crappy, unprofessional service. They provide minimal effort and produce less than satisfactory work. I like to support small, independent companies, but not this one. They need new people to run their operations. My only hope is that this warning will cost D&D more money than they cost me and that those of you reading this won't make the same mistake that I did. read more

What a great experience to work with Doug and his crew. My issue was a seat that reappolstered by a local vendor but they could not get the drivers seat back into the car and function properly (move forward and back). Doug embraced the challenge and successfully got the seat installed in a matter of two hours. I took my dented and scraped up Toyota Camry Hybrid to Doug at D&D due to Yelp reviews and Nextdoor Reviews as well as word of mouth. Ten years of Hospital parking lots as I worked ER in Commiefornia, had built up a lot of scrapes and dents from stoned or angry 'customers' taking out frustrations on Nurses and Doctors vehicles. Earlier cars were totaled by angry and/or stoned customers as well. This vehicle I paid cash as nothing major was incurred and $3200 seemed reasonable. Doug was very personable and professional and his employees were very helpful and professional as well. Front Desk person Kirsten even gave me a ride home. (I was going to walk 7 miles home, which is easy Peasy for me.) So I left car on Monday and started my walk to pick up my car on Friday after the phone call that car was ready. I made it about 4 miles before Kirsten picked me up on her lunch break! (Way above and beyond the call of duty! Doug had told her to keep an eye out for me!) My car was immaculately detailed, repaired and even washed thoroughly! Excellent job overall! Only negative was the $100 extra charge for credit card and Wells Fargo was temporarily closed (wasted walking time.) So if not using Auto Insurance? Cashiers Check or Cash. (Not sure if same for deductible on insurance?) Overall I highly recommend D&D for all your auto body repair, painting and detailing needs! read more

Got a new custom grill and hood for my jeep, needed to get it painted to match. Doug and his team were quick to give me a quote and fast turnaround. The paint matches the Jeep's paint job flawlessly and they were so quick to get it done and back to us in no time! They are the best and most honest to work with in sourthern utah! I have had my vehicles at a couple of different shops here in St. George over the years, and never had the quality of service and craftsmanship that you get from D&D. It starts from the minute you walk in the door and look around and realize this is no regular shop, the whole front area is clean and comfortable not like most of the other places. The help that is provided is not just to get your Insurance money and run they care about the work that is going to be done on your car. The knowledge of the staff is the best I have run into in many years. I hope to never have a car that is in any type of accident again but if it is I would not take my car anywhere else. Jason at D & D was great to work with from the minute I walked in the door. Professional and helpful. Looked at damage explained what they would do and time frame. Decided to use them though they weren't on our insurance providers list. They should be! They used Toyota parts, the body work was amazing. The car was ready and waiting at the agreed upon time. And to top it off it was washed and cleaned inside and out. Jason handled everything with our insurance carrier. He was efficient and helpful. And to top things off as we were picking up the car the owner happened to be walking by and stopped to make sure we were happy with repairs and to thank us for using them for repairs. Doug and Jason did everything they could to make sure that my classic Cj-7 paint job turned out perfectly. I explained to them I want a color close to the sandstone in Zion and they knocked it out of the park. Called me to check in once in a while, and even painted the spare dash and had me come in to check out the color. I have worked with many paint shops in several different states and D and D is by far the best shop to work with. I never thought I would be happy to get my car hit, but D&D Auto made it look better than it did before the accident. Not only did they take car of my car but they took care of me. They talked to me on the phone till all of my questions were answered (at least 20 minutes) before I even committed to be a customer. I took my car in to have them look at it they told me everything I needed and I gave them the insurance information and they took care of everything. I no longer had to talk to the insurance company because they handled it all. My car was even finished ahead of schedule. Being a single female it is easy to be taken advantage of in the situation but not here, here they treat you like a good friend or close family member. We had to have some repairs done due to a minor accident. When the auto body shop in Mesquite, where we live, never got back to us after 2 attempts to contact them, we called D and D. They were very professional and kept to their time schedule, keeping us updated on the progress. Highly recommend them. The only down side is that obnoxious dog that greets you as you walk in! read more

I don't understand their rating history for D&D Autoworks. I went to them last fall and they gave me a quote. I when to them because of the ratings online on YELP and GOOGLE. Well, my experience was very different from everyone else's experience. I brought my car to them on a Friday, they said bring it back on Monday for them to get started. I was quoted a week, so that was what i had planned. Come that following Friday when the car was supposed to have been picked up. I was informed then, on the day of the pick up, that the car was not ready. They were waiting on the "custom hinges" that was ordered for the car. The next day they quoted me was Tuesday. Come that Tuesday, I went there with a friend but I still could not get my car. I was know informed that another part had not come into the shop. I asked about the custom hinges story that they gave me and they did not recall telling me that. I asked when i could pick up the car and they said that Friday. So it took the shop a total of 2 weeks to complete a job. We took the car home and come to find out it was leaking. We took the car back and found out they messed up on the connection of the radiator. :( Wasted TIME and Wasted MONEY with these guys. I would say go elsewhere and don't use them. read more

I backed into a rock and damaged the rear side fender of my 2014 Subaru Forester. That passenger side mirror isn't kidding when it says objects are closer than they appear. The fender was hanging partially off so my husband put a zip tie to hold it and I went online to find a body shop. D&D Autoworks in St George had the highest Yelp rating so I called them. I am so happy I did. Doug and Jason were awesome. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and they came right out into the parking lot, cut the zip tie off, popped the fender off, went back in for a few parts and had my fender reattached and as good as new within a few minutes. Doug even wiped off the fingerprints they left. Excellent customer service and knowledgable workers. The cost for the service was extremely reasonable. I highly recommend D&D Autoworks! read more

These guys are amazing! I "brushed" my husband's brand new truck against a fence post and left a pretty ugly mark along the entire side of the bed.
