Long cheese coney and Fries. I cut the coney in half to put it on a plate)

I placed a DoorDash order from here. Ordering process was simple and they have a variety of food options available. I ordered a Long Cheese Coney hotdog, with some french fries on the side. I also ordered a BBQ Beef sandwich with pickles and cheese. Delivery was very quick and items arrived warm. The Long Cheese Coney hotdog was very long. I had added relish on it. It was very good. Coney hotdogs usually come with a chili sauce. This did as well. It also is topped with shredded cheese. I did add relish, but if I reorder again, I would skip the extras. The shredded cheese and chili sauce are good enough. The French fries were fried well and not greasy. They are like shoestring style fries. The BBQ beef sandwich I ate today. It is good but nothing spectacular. What is spectacular is they did not skimp on the BBQ Beef. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Prices are very reasonable and the food is really good. I liked the eco-friendly cardboard container the Long Cheese Coney hotdog came in. No condiments came in the bag with the food but there were napkins. I recommend and would eat from there again.

Got the large peanutbutter milkshake and regretted it. We should have shared it or got smaller size. It was thick but not as icy as udf. We both get large at udf but couldn't finish this. Decent shake but would get medium. LOTS of flavor choices.

Meh. I've driven by this place hundreds of times and have never stopped to even get ice cream. Tonight I decided to try a few food items and a strawberry shortcake. I got a grilled chicken sandwich, mozzarella sticks, and fried pickles. The fried pickles were done. They were still doughy and squishy in the middle, and they were so greasy that they upset my stomach. The mozzarella sticks were just gross. Heinz marinara sauce is gross. I'm assuming they're just getting kind of bulk run of the mill GFS frozen items and popping them in there fryer. I get it, that's what these small places have to do, but just a little something extra could really improve these fried items. The grilled chicken sandwich was gross. I'm not sure if it was the bun or the mayo, or maybe a combination of the two, but I ended up just taking the grilled chicken breast off the sandwich and eating it that way. I did finish the pickles, but the mozzarella sticks went in the trash. I also got a strawberry shortcake sundae. It was melted by the time it got home, fully expected in late July. But the short cake was as hard as a rock. I initially thought that it had just been frozen, but it wasn't cold it was just hard, making me think that it was stale. Not a great for experience. Definitely won't be rushing to go back. Maybe just stick to the ice cream at this place? ‍

My family's favorite place to go around the neighborhood. We always have come for the ice cream. I mean who doesn't like soft serve !!? It looks like the food menu has expanded in previous years but we have always stuck to the ice cream. Can't wait for more evening visits as summer approaches!

Dixie Dairy Dreem is the popular place to get ice cream in Moraine. It's probably the coolest thing about this city. Literally the coolest for sure. It has a good selection of ice cream. They also have hot junk like very greasy burgers if you need a meal. It was scorching that day. I had a watermelon slushie. This is about $2 for the regular size. It's big enough. This really cooled me off. It was melty enough that it didn't freeze up right away. They put in the right amount of ice. All the hot food isn't as good. This is the usual fried shit. Kind of a lame area. It doesn't have much else going on around. There's a nice patio and some tables.

The Dairy Dreem is my favorite ice cream place in Dayton. Service is great, the ice cream is amazing and you gotta love the walk up atmosphere! It is a classic!

Since it was Father's Day I treated myself to the Peanut Butter Heart Attack Sundae and wow, it was full of Peanut Butter flavor. If you're a nut for Peanut Butter, you'll go nutty for this terrific sundae that peanut butter sauce is amazing. They have about 20 ice cream flavors from Buckeye Fever, to Raspberry Sorbet and coffee to s'mores, it's really a good selection. They also have 30 soft serve ice cream flavors including the famous KI Blue (KI stands for King's Island, remember King's Island during their Smurf years?), which I'm totally trying next time for nostalgia reasons only. They have dole whip, I've heard their Ice Cream Nachos are very good (they have a cult following). They have slushies and smoothies and their rendition of the flurry, called "The Cyclone". Just walk up, ring the bell, grab a seat (seating is limited outside, there is no indoor seating) and wait for the staff to come who will order on a tablet and within minutes your order is ready. The price is good, the scoops are massive (look at my raspberry sorbet picture, that is the kiddie 1 scoop) and make the cost worth it. Enjoy this local of locals, it's awesome. Just wish the drive thru wasn't right next to the sitting area with no wall or fence or railing or nothing, with kids it felt a little unsafe, but hey at least it will teach your kids to pay attention. Sweet Retreat is sweet enjoy, check it out and enjoy...

Grannies Cookie Jar & Ice Cream Parlor is a Metamora, Indiana icon, though it may be weird to call…read moreanything in this historic Franklin County town an actual "icon." There's quite a bit you know about me if you've followed my reviews for any length of time. This likely includes my long friendship with fellow Yelp Elites Rick G. and Holly G. - in fact, I performed their wedding ceremony! The three of us have actually collaborated on quite a few projects over the years, either due to Rick's music and comedy or because of my long history of activism and charity work. Frequently, our collaborations combine Rick and Holly's creativity with my activist spirit. For a couple years, Rick and Holly owned a shop in Metamora called Mosaic Learn & Play - I, in turn, owned a small charity bookstore within the walls of Mosaic. While I never spent nearly as much time in Metamora as did Rick and Holly, I spent my fair share of time there and grew to appreciate the picturesque, friendly town. Rick and Holly's wedding was even in Metamora! As is true of most historic towns, accessibility can definitely be an issue in Metamora. Truthfully, I'd say there's more that's not accessible than there actually is accessible in the town. Grannies is most certainly not perfect, a step greeting you at the front door and a crowded shop making even the most experienced wheelchair user more than a little paranoid. It's possible, I've been to Grannies more than once, but it's definitely a shop where I take my time wheeling and I am super careful everywhere I turn. Grannies, first of all, is an official world record holder. Granny owns over 2600 cookie jars - and I believe they're all actually here in this shop. She's held the record since 2012, as I recall. Grannies is, of course, an ice cream shop. Granny even makes all of her waffle cones by hand. Each one has a Hershey kiss at the bottom. She puts a whole lot of love in her waffle cones. The ice cream is pretty incredible, too. She has quite a few flavors and they're at reasonable prices for pretty darn amazing servings. Grannies is open 7 days a week throughout the year. While I can't say I'd drive all the way to Metamora for her ice cream, if I am in the Metamora there's no way I'm leaving without stopping at Grannies. Metamora is a beautiful little canal town. It has definitely been impacted by the pandemic, but the people are also hanging in there. I'm not quite going to say that time stands still here, but it's sure not a place you go to speed up. Metamora is a surprisingly easy drive from Indy and the entire Franklin County area could easily be a relaxing, fairly isolated day trip with Brookville also nearby as the seat of the county. There are even a couple places you can stay in Metamora, though they aren't particularly strong with access and you'd probably want to go to Brookville if that's needed. If you get a chance, head south to Metamora and be sure to stop in at Grannies for some ice cream and definitely check out those cookie jars!

Not just wall to wall... there are added sections in the middle, too! That's not mentioning the back room also has a ton of cookie jars! There are cookie jars shaped like fruit. There are cookie jars shaped like iconic characters. There are cookie jars with Coca Cola theme. Christmas. Animals. Just seriously, so. Many. Cookie. Jars. They do also have some coffee mugs and salt and pepper shakers. Bottom line, this shop is so quirky that I can't help but stop in when I'm in town. I just watch my step and make sure my purse won't knock the shelves. In Grannie's, if you break it, you buy it! PS -- there is a bathroom in the hall between the front room and back room, should you need one. They can be difficult to locate in Metamora if you don't know where they are.
