I walked in at 8 pm on a Sunday and this place was pretty quiet. There are other established dairy bars around - one of them inside like this one so they have local competition. Several places to sit inside with opportunities to get regular ice cream and soft serve. Soft serve selections were vanilla, chocolate and flavor of the day strawberry. I opted for a creamy vanilla chocolate swirl on a cake cone. For 2.95, it was a deal and very tasty. There are plenty of opportunities, as you can see from the menu, sundaes, blizzards, cookie sandwiches, individual birthday sundaes with icing and ice cream cakes. I recommend the soft serve. Great local spot! This place is great bang for your buck! Literally! They have specials all week long to different things! This place does get busy so be mindful especially summer time. I placed a DoorDash order from here. Ordering process was simple and they have a variety of food options available. I ordered a Long Cheese Coney hotdog, with some french fries on the side. I also ordered a BBQ Beef sandwich with pickles and cheese. Delivery was very quick and items arrived warm. The Long Cheese Coney hotdog was very long. I had added relish on it. It was very good. Coney hotdogs usually come with a chili sauce. This did as well. It also is topped with shredded cheese. I did add relish, but if I reorder again, I would skip the extras. The shredded cheese and chili sauce are good enough. The French fries were fried well and not greasy. They are like shoestring style fries. The BBQ beef sandwich I ate today. It is good but nothing spectacular. What is spectacular is they did not skimp on the BBQ Beef. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Prices are very reasonable and the food is really good. I liked the eco-friendly cardboard container the Long Cheese Coney hotdog came in. No condiments came in the bag with the food but there were napkins. Got the large peanutbutter milkshake and regretted it. We should have shared it or got smaller size. It was thick but not as icy as udf. We both get large at udf but couldn't finish this. Decent shake but would get medium. LOTS of flavor choices. read more

Me and my friend came around 15 minutes till closing. We then were ignored for over 25 minutes before finally a old lady came over, looked us dead in the eyes and turned the electric open sign off and turned the open sign around so that it said close. We were denied service I do not know why multiple store workers looked us dead in the eye. I have came here before many times because a friend works here and I wanted to support them. On all of the occasions I have came at many different times and have been ignored for long periods of time either until closing or until I have been there so long I have to leave. I'm extremely disappointed in this business and I recommend that anybody that even considers going to this place erase those ideas out of their mind. Meh. I've driven by this place hundreds of times and have never stopped to even get ice cream. Tonight I decided to try a few food items and a strawberry shortcake. I got a grilled chicken sandwich, mozzarella sticks, and fried pickles. The fried pickles were done. They were still doughy and squishy in the middle, and they were so greasy that they upset my stomach. The mozzarella sticks were just gross. Heinz marinara sauce is gross. I'm assuming they're just getting kind of bulk run of the mill GFS frozen items and popping them in there fryer. I get it, that's what these small places have to do, but just a little something extra could really improve these fried items. The grilled chicken sandwich was gross. I'm not sure if it was the bun or the mayo, or maybe a combination of the two, but I ended up just taking the grilled chicken breast off the sandwich and eating it that way. I did finish the pickles, but the mozzarella sticks went in the trash. I also got a strawberry shortcake sundae. It was melted by the time it got home, fully expected in late July. But the short cake was as hard as a rock. I initially thought that it had just been frozen, but it wasn't cold it was just hard, making me think that it was stale. Not a great for experience. Only issues I've had is they do close at 9!!! A jankie little ice cream shop right on South Dixie. Been here a few times with the granddaughter because it's close to where they live. She seems to like it, but I'm definitely not a fan. It's extremely overpriced and I really question the cleanliness of the serving area inside. I've had the soft serve ice cream cone a couple times. Maybe I've just outgrown ice cream cones but I'm just really unimpressed. Terrible customer service. Dirty run down needs a health and food inspection. Old person at the window had the worst tone acted like you were a problem taking your order, get to the window she's leaning over on her elbow hardly working only taking orders and money, no smile, I get my order and say sorry I wanted that in a cup and the nice young man replaces it and then before I even drive away the old person says shoulda said that when you ordered it. Ordered two footlong cheese coney dogs. Really disappointed. All bun. Hotdogs are about the diameter of a ladies index finger. Maybe about 3 tablespoons of chili on each dog. No onions on either one. Ordered one with mustard. Neither one had mustard even though one box was marked "no mustard". Won't be back for food. Too expensive for poor quality. read more

Dixie Dairy Dreem is the popular place to get ice cream in Moraine. It's probably the coolest thing about this city. Literally the coolest for sure. It has a good selection of ice cream. They also have hot junk like very greasy burgers if you need a meal. It was scorching that day. I had a watermelon slushie. This is about $2 for the regular size. It's big enough. This really cooled me off. It was melty enough that it didn't freeze up right away. They put in the right amount of ice. All the hot food isn't as good. This is the usual fried shit. Kind of a lame area. It doesn't have much else going on around. There's a nice patio and some tables. read more

Throw back to the warmer summer days. Dairy Dream has gigantic soft serve ice cream portions for pretty cheap prices, with all the flavors and mix ins and sundae options. Pretty unassuming little spot, and just a couple of picnic tables. I always drove past it in the way to work and finally decided to swing by and try it out. Glad I did because it's a nice little motorcycle ride up from my house. They have food as well but we will have to try that next summer! read more

I am so sorry for giving this review because when I was a child in East Dayton...we had a shop like this. I loved it. They didn't have flavors like pistachio or some of the concoctions they have now. Then I was a kid and had less expectations in the 80s on icecream shops. I ordered pistachio. I tasted no pistachio. Just not impressed with sift serve flavorless icecream. Average food and ice cream business. This is an older restaurant in a mixed housing/commercial area. The service was fast and courteous. The food was good and the dessert flavor selection great. Both ice cream, malts and shake had 24 flavors to choose from. My wife is particular about French fries and was happy that they were just a notch below what you'd find at McDonald's (a little less salt too). The caramel on my wife's Sunday was thin, and apparently not because it was hot. Not a big deal but a little disappointing. We both have the daily special, which featured sloppy Joe, fries, and a drink for five dollars. Definitely not worth a special trip, but worth stopping by if you're in the area and need to satisfy a sweet tooth! Very bummed today, been eating here over 45 years but today was not good. The cheese coneys always been the same but today it's now has a sweet chili sauce and shredded cheese, comes in a box and when they put it bag, it went sideways and all the chili and cheese were at the edge of the box. My daughter chocolate waffle cone had the paper from the last cone inside so when she ate it there was paper in it. The chicken s as Nd witch was hard, had to order this cause they were out of chicken tenders. I think they must be managed by different company cause they have a new menu sign and painted the outside. We had spent a lot of money here and now we won't be back. So sad, read more

Not nearly as good with a noticed lack of Reeses pieces in the ice cream. Latest was the chicken salad on Texas toast...along with the fries it was the perfect lunch. Not to mention ice cream before you go. The staff is super friendly, but be prepared the lunch hour draws a bit of a crowd. They have a drive thru. But most people do the walk up window. A few tables if you want to eat in. We had chicken fingers, a cheeseburger, fries and Diet Cokes on a Sunday afternoon. The food was made to order and served within minutes. The food was hot and tasty. The young ladies in duty were very polite and responsive; not the usual surly "want fries with that" attitude you find in fast food places. They even gave us a treat for our dog. Being a resident of Moraine, I've grown up with this local stand my entire life. When you grow up with something, you never know how good it is until you get to experience similar items in other places. Now that I'm in college and have traveled throughout much of the US, the ice cream served here is still on the top of my list. The ice cream is much thicker and creamier than a lot of other soft serves and has a very subtle, yet unique flavor to it. If you get ice cream, just get the ice cream!!! The types of sauces (choc, pb, caramel, etc.) are very generic in their taste. The only exception I would say is a hard chocolate shell on a vanilla ice cream cone. Overall I highly recommend this ice cream. It is much different than what you receive at chains such as DQ. read more

I have ate here numerous occasions and have always thoroughly enjoyed. Not this visit. The cost was super high for hotdogs and I did not get what I ordered. In case anyone doesn't know there is a difference between a foot-long hotdog and a short/regular hotdog. Foot-long hotdogs are not as big around as short hotdogs. Foot-long hotdogs allow for extra goodies to be put on top of the hotdog because there is less room Marconi sauce and cheese are always on a foot-long Coney where a regular hotdog you just taste the hotdog and the bread. I paid $18 for hotdogs and I didn't eat them I fed them to my dog I was really craving their delicious goopy messy foot-long Coney. So always ask which one you are getting before you are leaving and have a chance to actually look at it or try it. I'm sure if I would have opened the packaging up and looked at it I would have given it back at tasted like it looked a big hotdog a little bun no cheese no sauce and cold. We went here due to the good reviews. Anyway, my wife ordered some ice cream, while I ordered a hot dog. Yuck !! worst hot dog ever. I think the problem was they have some very young kids who just don't care what kind of food is served. My hot dog was COVERED COMPLETELY WITH RELISH. Not exaggerating - every fraction of an inch on the dog and bun was piled high with relish. As a result, the bun was soggy and the hot dog was garbage, as it was really a relish sandwich. The kid that made the dog should had been supervised as we were the only customers at the time. Should have returned and complain, but didn't feel like turning back. Tried it once and will not return. Places that put out that kind of food should probably just stick to ice cream. read more

I always look forward to this shop opening during the warmer months. It's local, has a drive-thru and has good options. My family and I love their soft serve. I can't give it 5-stars because of the bad customer service I recently experienced. There is an older guy who works here, who I'm assuming is the owner, is incredibly rude to staff and customers. I recently went for my first visit of the season and it left me uneasy. I went through the drive-thru and the young lady who had taken my order over the speaker, took it down wrong. It wasn't a big deal and I was just waiting for her to fix it and give me my total. Most of the staff are teens, with this being their first job. They just opened for the season so I understand they're still learning. Anyways, they got one of my items made and I was waiting on the other. They were simultaneously trying to understand the order of the car behind me. The owner comes into view and looks out at me and I smile and he just gives me a dirty look. He proceeds to yell to the workers, "what is she waiting on so we can get her out of here!". As I'm sitting there, he continues to yell at the workers about different things. You could tell the workers were stressed because of the way he was treating them. Instead of helping them he was just yelling demands and being super mean. The teens are always so nice, but this guy needs to fix his attitude! I'd be surprised if his staff sticks around for long. It's one thing to be rude to your workers, but to do it in front of customers is a bit excessive. read more
