Our 6-year-old son, who has a speech delay, started out very timid--but in just a few sessions he went from hesitantly putting his face in the water to swimming independently. Out of the 3 sessions we attended, 2 were noticeably outstanding, and we're already planning to return every summer as long as we're in California. Her pool is heated, has a safety gate around it, and she's incredibly attentive. You can tell she takes safety seriously and catches things quickly, which gives us so much peace of mind. I also loved being able to sit and watch, and I noticed her working so patiently with a wide range of kids, including those with special needs. She truly meets each child where they're at. As a pediatric ICU respiratory therapist, I can't stress enough how important water safety is--there's no second chance in the water. Please, parents, prioritize swim lessons for your children. Colleen and her team make it such a positive, safe, and confidence-building experience. Highly recommend!

My son enjoyed his lessons so much that we signed him up for a second session. He's now totally comfortable with water on his face and even feels confident swimming in the deep end--huge progress for him! Highly recommend these lessons to any parent looking for a fun and supportive swim program.

Aquaguard Pool Fences - Safe Fence Around Our Pool

Unfortunately an erratic driver crashed into our backyard and damage parts of it. I called Matthew to see if he could repair it for us and within two days he came and replaced all the damaged pieces. We have two toddlers so time was of an essence and we really appreciate Matthew coming out so fast. The best customer service and genuinely a kind person.

From the start, he was honest, transparent, and never once used high-pressure sales tactics (which I really appreciate). His quote came in fair compared to others I received, and he took the time to really understand our needs. We needed the fence as part of the process to become resource parents for San Diego County foster youth, and Matthew was incredibly thoughtful in helping us make sure everything aligned with CA code requirements. He even encouraged us to confirm details with our social worker and was flexible when we hit a small curveball with elevation changes from a nearby step. Installation day was seamless, about 4 hours for 136 feet of 5-foot fencing, and the finished product looks amazing (pictures don't lie!). He also went above and beyond by cleaning up the area, walking us through how everything works, and making sure we felt comfortable using the gate and removable sections. What really stood out was how easy and genuine he was to work with, it felt more like talking to a friend than a vendor. Plus, the lifetime warranty is a huge bonus and something we didn't see with other companies. I highly recommend Aquaguard and Matthew if you're looking for quality work, professionalism, and someone who truly cares about getting it right.

You must join but the annual fee is reasonable. They have two major events and these help hem be low cost to the community. But due to work, I have only been able to take a few classes throughout the years. But I do love the variety of classes that they offer and how constant their schedule is. If you are looking for a Japanese school for your child to attend, they offer that. If you would like to just learn more about the community through the different cultural classes, just sign up for the emails and you can be alerted for upcoming classes that they offer. I've taken amigurumi (crochet), ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement), and a cooking class. All of the instructors are great and mostly volunteers. So it just shows you what a great community there is. They have festivals through the year and also help put on the West Covina Cherry Blossom Festival. They also host the West Covina obon at the center but it is organized by the Buddhist church which is based out of the community center. So there is just a lot of activities that you can get involved with.
