FRAUD AND SCAMMER ALERT!! He (John) tried to add extra days on the maintenance log to get more money, acting as if he came by to maintenance my spa, but I have cameras all around my home. He signed the maintenance log 3 different dates EXTRA on the log in one setting which he never came on those dates to service. Then he tried to charge me $85 for a whole month he never serviced. You're a LIAR! Bad business! I wish I could give zero stars. He may be good at what he does, or maybe not, but he SURE isn't a stand up guy! Our jacuzzi wasn't working. We paid him $678 to diagnose and repair the problem. He said our circuit board burned up - and said it could be wear and tear or from overflowing the jacuzzi. In passing, he said we may want to get the electric panel looked at, but he certainly never said that was the cause of our issue, nor did our existing electrical setup stop him from proceeding. Less than 48 hours after it was fixed, it burned up again. After weeks of stringing us along and saying he's "working on it", he now refuses to participate in a solution. He now blames us for not fixing the electrical (which was on calendar to be looked at days later) and lies by saying we told him we did fix it. I can't stand a liar. John made a first time visit to our home today to assess our pool which had no pressure at the pump and no water movement. About 15 minutes in, he discovered the problem; a clogged and broken Whisper Flo Pool Pump Basket. I didn't even know there was such a thing. John cleaned out all the debris, fired up the pool and it works like new. For those of us who are not pool scientists, this was a valuable service and relieved a fair amount of anxiety. During Covid outbreak we found that we were unable to read our display plate any longer(lights on panel were going out) and unable to control temp. I wish I would have checked yelp reviews prior to letting John get involved with my Spa. John came to my house 5 weeks ago, took my spa pump to repair at his shop (house) and i have not heard from him since. He told me my pump would be fixed and installed in 1 week from the day he took it. I have called, left voice mails, text and never have I got any response back. I'm very disappointed. Just like one the other reviews, my wife and I have made sacrifices to be available at the house (taking time off work) for the days he said he would show up and he never did and never notified us. I purchased a 4 person spa on 4/17/17 from a private party and 1 of the spa motors was not working so John promptly arrived to remove the motor to fix at his shop. 3 weeks went bye with no communication so I contacted John on a Monday and he told me he would install the motor on Friday so I took the day off to be at my house. NO SHOW AND NO CALL. I texted him my frustration and he said he would keep me updated...4 weeks later and several attempts to call him I have not heard from him. My sister visited from Colorado for 2 weeks and we drank our coffee every morning and looked at the non-operational spa. THANKS JOHN BROOKS FOR KEEPING MY SMALL SPA MOTOR FOR 8 WEEKS AND COUNTING. FYI John Brooks we all have busy schedules in business so what is unique about this job? UPDATE 6/24/2017 John did return the motor after we spoke on 6/21/2017 and he stated the motor was frozen, so I requested for him to not repair and return to me. Advanced Pool & Spa provides outstanding service. I can't even tell you how thrilled I am. One of my pool heater pipes developed a leak and sprayed water all over the side of my house. It turned out that there was a problem with a valve in the heater which over pressured the system with very hot water. Unfortunately the heater had been discontinued by the manufacturer. Advanced Pool & Spa helped me buy a new heater at a discount. They also rebuilt my pump motor that had worn bearings. They installed the new heater and pump and connected everything up. There was a problem with my Aqua Logic control system that Advanced Pool & Spa was unfamiliar with so they proactively got the manufacturer's rep to come out and work with them to solve the problem. Advanced Pool @ Spa came out four times to make sure the system was working properly. Now the whole thing works great and I am extremely happy with the job they did and I felt the cost was very fair. Working with John has been extremely difficult. He's promised to have pump replaced for my spa on three different occasions over a span of 6 weeks. Each time he missed time line, I had to reach out to him and ask what status was. I've been patient with him but he clearly doesn't care about time lines, proactive communication or customer service.
