Divine Thai is about 15 minutes away, and with a Yelp 4.5 star rating, we decided to give it a try. It is located in a small town and has a free parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. The decor is pleasant and fairly bright with two large windows up front. The front booths are very nice, with large tables and a "main street" view, but the benches are wood, and would benefit from a seat cushion of any type. We were greeted and seated promptly, and immediately provided with menus. My co-diner wanted a glass of white wine and was told there was only one type of cold white wine available. So, she agreed to try it and we ordered our appetizers. * Fried Pork Dumplings - 7 Pieces $5.50 * Shrimp Shumai - 7 Pieces $5.50 The appetizers arrived quickly and were served with two sauces. Both the dumplings and the ginger sauce were delicious. The shumai was good, though we have had better. A pretty good beginning to our dinner, and we moved on to entrees. We ordered: * Pad Woonsen with Duck (glass noodles with egg bean sprouts, carrots, etc.) - $13.95 * Divine Fried Rice (Rice with chicken, shrimp, bean sprouts, carrots, etc.) - $9.95 We thought the Divine Fried Rice dish was the better of the two, though the broccoli had an unappealing taste and the chicken was dry and overcooked. The Pad Woonsen was very disappointing, as the dish was on the dry side, and the duck was very dry and overcooked. We flagged down the waiter and asked for a side of the ginger sauce which helped mitigate the dryness. Went in last night for the first time. My wife and myself ordered chicken padThai, chicken teriyaki with white rice and vegetables Thai spring rolls, and fried pork dumplings. The waitress that took our order was very patient helpful and very personable. For the food everything came out very hot. Which is always a plus in my book. We were told it would be 20 to 25 minutes for a wait as they prepare our food, but it took longer than that but I can't complain because it was almost like everything was fresh and made to order. Ordered takeout from Divine Thai on a Friday evening: Thai Noodle Soup with Chicken was tasty and perfect for a cold night. Country Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp. This version is a bit Spicier variation of Pad Thai, we ordered it heat level 4 out of 5 levels. It had a very nice heat, the shrimp were tender and it was enough to share. Massaman Curry had a slightly creamy broth and was loaded with chicken, peanuts, carrots, onions, and potatoes. We'll definitely be back and eat at the restaurant along with a rum punch. read more

I was so happy when Divine Thai opened in Whitinsville. They were good in the beginning. They are going downhill. We were regular customers probably for the first 5-6 years of the business. .we saw slips. We kept supporting them. Then, on my birthday several years ago, they really just messed up the order. When my husband called Divine Thai with a legitimate objection, the person who answered the phone said..."I am sorry you are in a bad mood on your birthday. We arrived later on a snowy night and asked several times if it was alright that we came in. It wasn't very close to closing time, in fact we saw several to go orders come through while we were there and another table sit after we arrived. Our server was extremely nice, she went above and beyond on certain things. We were very excited to try this place because of the reviews online. Throughout dinner service we were informed of various things that they had run out of, after we'd ordered them. Not a big deal. Our food came out. I ordered chicken choo chee 4 star spicy. My daughter and boyfriend were served their meals, but our server advised that mine had the wrong protein. My boyfriend said he'd take the meal that came out (I would have as well), but the meal was instead returned to the kitchen, so that they would make me a new meal with the correct protein. The new meal came out, fifteen minutes later, with no spice. I had to flag our server down in the kitchen to bring the spice rack. Hot oil at this establishment is not anywhere near the spice level of hot oil I've been used to. My meal was essentially ruined because of how much chili and hot oil I had to add, to get it anywhere close to the spiciness I expect with a "four star" spicy dinner. Our server did offer to bring new rice over to eat with our leftovers, which was an incredibly nice gesture. However, we did have plenty of rice left in the dishes, and the new rice was so hard that we had to cook it on the stove at home anyway before my daughter would eat it (I don't eat much rice). We ended up feeling rushed at the end. Which was, in my mind, not fair. The only reason we were there so long was #1- we were assured that we weren't too late and/or holding them up from going home (after asking MULTIPLE times), and #2- because my dinner took an extra fifteen minutes to even be cooked when we indicated we'd be happy with the erroneous dinner. So happy we came across this place! (Thanks to Yelp!) So difficult to find good Thai when not in the city - this is a VERY welcome spot to the suberbs. We have been back twice, and enjoyed both the wait staff and the food both times. Great service just adds to the experience, and somewhat hard to find these days - so very happy to enjoy it here. Looked on Yelp prior to our visit and Divine exceeded those. Upon entering, it was clear that the restaurant staff are detail oriented. We waited for a quick minute to be seated and they cleared our table, sprayed down and cleaned the chairs, swept the floor and changed the tablecloth. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean. Not common to see this attention to detail today. The server throughout the meal was polite, considerate and friendly. The food was the best part. GREAT food. Not good, GREAT. We started with thai rolls and crap rangoons. Both were fantastic. I had the drunken noodles and my wife had the pad thai. Excellent. Maybe in most towns this would not be a five star restaurant but I've never had a bad experience here and the food is very consistent. Best Thai food I ever had was in ... wait for it ... Kennewick, WA. Huh? I guess the chef used to cook for a very important political figure in Thailand so he had to know what he was doing or get beaten or caned - whatever they do for punishment out there :P Ok back to the review ... I enjoy their sauces, as they are not over-sweetened and appear to be made with the order. They're generally quite generous with with their meat. I did order one meal a while ago that disappointed me (it was almost all onions and peppers and maybe three ounces of meat). It must have been bad day because it hasn't happened since. I enjoy eating in or getting take out. I think eating in you generally get more meat in your dishes; just a helpful hint :) read more

If I could rate this lower than a 1 star I would. I would not recommend wasting your time ordering from this restaurant. I placed an order was told my pick up time would be 4pm. I went to pick up my order and nothing was ready -- they looked at me like I was placing the order for the first time. When asked why they wasted my time driving over to pick up they said sorry for the confusion. What confusion -they was no one else there =certainly no one else picking up an order. I wound up at Divine Thai on a whim while visiting a friend who had recently moved to the Whitinsville, MA area; we were both hungry and not at all familiar with the area, so I hopped on trusty Yelp and found this place. We arrived on the Saturday night after the New Year around 7:30 p.m to an empty house. The restaurant has a decent size dining area with at least 20+ tables varying in size and a small (3 or 4 seat) bar towards the back near the kitchen. We were greeted and seated quickly and after we ordered, our food came out within 10 minutes. I ordered the veggie rice and my friend ordered some sort of chicken and vegetables in an oyster type sauce? I wasn't overly impressed with the items on their menu and for being a Thai restaurant I would've expected to see more vegetarian options, however; the portions we received were enough for both of us to only eat half of what was given and we took the rest home. Their prices are high, the lunch prices seemed more reasonable but that having been said, the quality and freshness of the ingredients was top notch. Can't say I'd go back to Divine Thai. I'm not an expert on Thai food, but I like to eat and this place was great. Our waitress was soft spoken, yet attentive and we felt welcome and comfortable. My wife and I both had chicken Pad Thai, but next time we want to be a little more adventurous. Everything was nice and fresh and tasted great. We also had the appetizer sampler. Prices were entirely reasonable. We were completely satisfied. For a Tuesday I thought they were busy. They sell beer and wine. The restaurant itself has been completely redone and looks great. The kitchen is in open view and the cooks were wearing hair nets which impressed me. Very clean, the restrooms too. Divine Thai has added some much-needed variety to Whitinsville's dining selection (which was previously limited to pizza, fast food, pizza, Chinese, and pizza). Of the three or four times I've come here with friends or family, I've always had excellent food and service at completely reasonable prices. The owners have also shown a lot of creativity in spicing up their menu (literally and figuratively). Every member of my family has a go-to menu item when we come here. The massaman curry with squid is excellent, and the squid is tender (never rubbery). My mom loves the pineapple and mango fried rice dishes, and my dad typically orders the Duck Choo-Chee. Whatever you order, they're great at altering the heat level of a dish to match your personal taste. So don't be afraid to ask! If you make it to dessert, order the coconut ice cream and ask for their peanut sauce / topping. I don't know if this sauce is an official menu item or just something they whip together, but it's INCREDIBLE. A little spicy, a little sweet, and perfectly peanutty. Also, little known fact: While they don't necessarily advertise delivery services, they will deliver to addresses within a certain (limited) radius in town. My friends and I took advantage of this last year: our order was delivered within the hour, and the food quality was just as good as dining in. read more

The best drunken noodles with chicken I've ever had - this place has me addicted! I've tried other Thai restaurants around and this is BY FAR the best there is. Went to Divine Thai last night for a date with my fiance. Lemme tell you this place is fabulous!!! First of all the atmosphere is lovely. Dim lit with nice table decor in a small quaint dining room. Our server was fantastic when I asked questions about the menu. We had golden triangles as an appetizer and they were delicious!!! My fiancé had shrimp pad Thai and I had squid pad Thai at $11 a plate but for the portion size alone it's worth it. We could have split one plate between the two of us. And it was so delicious. I can't get over how good it was. We got their hot tea to drink and I wish I could drink it every day. They were nice enough to even brew us a fresh pot. Then for dessert we got the fried banana rolls which is a perfect dessert if you're not super into sweets. The whole meal was under $40 and plenty to take home. We've eaten at Divine Thai on a handful of times and never was disappointed. I've had the Pad Thai and the Divine Buddies, both were very good. The food always taste fresh with good flavors, which I haven't experienced in other area Thai restaurants (Chim Thai and Pepper Terrace). I'll agree there's not much ambiance in the dining room, but the service makes up for it twofold. Always friendly, smiles on their face, and there when we need them. Food comes quickly and hot. They do offer mixed cocktails in addition to their beer and wine selection. Their wine list is a bit better than the average Thai restaurant. read more

Best restaurant in Whitinsville hands down... Ordered from here for my birthday.The curry rice had excellent flavor is priced well for the amount of nice meat you get. The currys were both nice and flavorful and not too heavy love the strong thai basil taste of the green one. Always happy with my order from here and it's always delicious been a customer for years now. They recently changed their packaging and its a lot more heavy duty compared to their old one. The old packaging wasn't bad but this one I think is the most sturdy packaging I've seen for take out around here. Thai tea was very very sweet but not as bitter as ones from other places around here, I drank half of it and had to give the other half to my fiance because it started to get a little gaggy because of the sweetness but it has a very nice flavor wish there was a boba option but that's ok. My fiance talked to the owners before and said they're very friendly. Love that you can pick your curry's spice level. They've even mixed pineapple fried rice and mango fried rice before when I couldn't decide which is better. Roti is extra greasy but what do you expect for deep fried bread... Calamari was very tender and served on a bed of lettuce to absorb the grease. Sometimes there's small inconsistencies on the spice levels of the curries depending on the day you go but if you just tell them what spice level you'd like they're a lot more consistent. Vegetables and meat taste nice and fresh. Husband says spring rolls had nice flavor but were a little chewy. Crab rangoons were okay I think food work's are better but they're still good they were a little sweet for crab rangoons you can tell they put in little white onions because of the flavor. They taste a lot like the shrimp dip I used to make during the holidays. Love the little drawings on the boxes, so cute! Wonderful birthday dinner. :)) read more
