I just recently moved to Orlando and decided it was finally time to get my scuba certification. That's when I found Diver's Direct. Being less than ten minutes from my house, I was excited to go and see what scuba is all about. I was filled with joy when I opened the doors. To see so much potential and future possibilities. My first impression of the store itself was that it was uplifting with bright colors all around and had an open floor plan to walk freely between the aisles looking at all the different products. I was in awe and that's when I met Walt and Gabe. Gabe signed me up for my open water certification and helped me pick out my gear. Knowing absolutely nothing about scuba he went into detail and explained the pros and cons of each item I needed to start out and set me up for my first dive. Additionally, Walt and I started talking and he really took an interest in what I wanted to do with scuba and relayed my options to be able to achieve my goals. After purchasing my gear I left feeling confident and ecstatic for my class. Then comes the weekend of my OWC. There I met Matt, my instructor. Being a fairly new Instructor, I was a little hesitant but eager nonetheless to see if his teaching style and my learning capabilities would match, and they did. Matt's way of teaching is practical and to the point but, he also goes into detail about the science of why you are doing what you are doing rather than just showing you what to do and then moving on to the next exercise. He is very confident, trustworthy and a dependable dive buddy/instructor. I would recommend him to anyone to get their certification through Matt. And lastly...Manny...of House Figueroa, first of his name, the man, the legend, like really #heisabigdeal #doyouevenknowhim, only mermaid instructor in the central florida region, and father of two. Oh Manny... from the first time I met him, I knew he was going to be fun to be around. Manny is an incredible instructor; with his charismatic personality and his simple and to the point teaching style, Manny is by far the #1 instructor of Central Florida and should get more than five stars. Heck the whole team of Diver's Direct Orlando should get more than 5 stars. My dives with Manny have been educational and very eventful. I look forward to working with him more and the rest of Diver's Direct Orlando in continuing my education towards Dive Master. I can say with certainty that Divers Direct Orlando is MY dive shop and I will only purchase my gear here. This is my full review. Lots of stuff which made it fun to explore, but lots of the same brands. I was surprised to see nearly a hundred wetsuits but most were all the same thing. But what made it a bad experience was the staff. One guy kept following me around like a used car salesman and he just wouldn't stop talking. Usually about himself or his adventures. Then he would joke or tease me in front of my wife and laugh. Really!? I hate to say this but he was so obnoxious. I wanted to explore the store and had lots of time and money to do so. But my wife and I literally were doing all we could to stay away from this guy. I later tried connecting with another sales clerk thinking that help. But after a few minutes of talking and seeing his eyes glaze over, he stopped me and said, "I have to tell you I'm new here" which meant, I don't know what your talking about sir. In summary, I spent about an hour or more at the store. Tried on and bought a shorty because the sale price was great. I wanted to get much more but It was too uncomfortable & labor some. This is one if the reasons buying online could be so much better. I was hoping for so much more. I won't go back. read more

VERY BAD Experience. Purchased a BC and was told to test it out and if I didn't like it I could bring it back After I tried it out within 30 days. I tested it for 10 minutes in my backyard pool. It was too loose and didn't like that you could only put 1 weight bag in. Brought it back- Asked for store credit to exchange. Manager was Rude and Unprofessional- said he couldn't give me full credit because I used it?! Yeah- how do you test it without using it? I will Never buy from them again after being treated so poorly. They price gouge as I found identical items at another store for 30 percent less after I had to go buy a new BC at another store. They didn't even give me a manual for the BC- said I should look for it online. Tanks are overpriced- course is double the price anywhere else. If you want to get treated like crap then shop here- otherwise go Anywhere Else! Tourist Trap Big Time! read more

My wife & I were on our way to Grand Caymen & decided to purchase our own snorkel gear. Even with extensive research we had lots of questions and expected the worst, as in high pressure sales, etc... We were quickly assisted by the GM Rachael in what turned out to be perhaps the best purchasing experience we've ever encountered. She test fitted dozens of different masks on each of us until she determined the ones with the perfect fit. She also made and explained in detail several recommendations on the rest of the necessary gear. None of the equipment we ended up with, (masks/fins/snorkels/rash guards/bag/etc...), was the most expensive but all performed perfectly on our trip. We snorkeled for hours at a time, several different locations a day for a week with no issues. I can't recommend the store and staff enough. read more

Having only just qualified with my advance open water in November, I went into the shop to have a look at what there is to offer, after having 10minutes to have a look about the shop your friendly staff member Walt came over. After having a chat with Walt which I was nervous to tell him about only just qualifying he spent all the time I wanted going over all the products having a chat about anything and everything. I walked out the shop with a handful of goodies, plus some knowledge which will help me and when I go back to Florida for the next holiday I will deffo be asking Walt where I can dive. DIVERS DIRECT are great to go to they are knowledgeable at all aspects of diving. Rachel is great to work with got so comfortable with them went to Honduras this year with WALTER he was great made sure that my wife and myself were never in need of anything....plan on going next year just because of how we were treated...MANNY is a great instructor he makes you feel very confident and comfortable in the water....I have got lifelong friends because of these people if your thinking about diving you might want to stop over to DIVERS DIRECT THEY WILL TREAT YOU GREAT.... the good: they have a lot of merchandise. the bad: horrible customer service. there has been 2 times that I went in there and have gotten outraged. If you are not there to buy snorkles and masks as tourists then they treat you like garbage. I would rec any other place but here. I have spent thousands of dollars in this location and unless you get lucky and get Walter to help you then you are screwed. I am sorry but there are way too many other places to buy overpriced equipment. I won;t be buying anymore there. read more
