I've always heard great things about this shop, so when I finally made the decision to get certified, I knew exactly where to go. The knowledge of the staff and the passion they have for diving is apparent in everything they do. I have learned SO much and felt so confident in my ability to dive by the end of the class that getting in the ocean and applying my skills was no problem at all. They take the time to help you get fitted to the gear that you need for class and any other items you may need. John is the shop owner and he has always been so nice every time I've been in the shop. Brant was the primary person giving lectures and teaching the skills in our class, he is in the process of becoming an instructor and he was so friendly and knowledgeable. Don was observing Brant during our classes to help him get his instructor certification; Don took us on our checkout dive in the Keys as well and you can tell that he is so passionate about his career in diving and instructing. He kept everything fun and explained things in a way that was understandable and made sure that any questions we had were answered without making anyone feel silly for asking. We've also gotten help from Christina, Hector, Tyler, and Ryan(and a few others) but I seriously cannot say enough good things about these people! They have given us skills and knowledge that we will use throughout our whole dive career and I can't wait to continue learning from them!

Unfortunately he was booked…read morefor the time I needed, but we then started talking and he gave me a lot of information on where I might go to do The course. I then told him I was going on a trip, and he recommended that I come to the shop and get a mask and snorkel. As soon as I walked in he was so kind and inviting. And to make it even better the dog, Rusty, was the best greeter ever! I've actually never been in a scuba store so I had no idea what was in there. Lloyd gave me a tour of the facility and even gave me a brief history of his over 30 year stint in Gainesville. He is beyond knowledgeable! He has been a master cave dive instructor for 25 years. What's great about this shop is that Lloyd has tested everything that he sells. He immediately was able to place me in 3 masks and then walked me through which one might be the best for me. He has a 100% satisfaction guarantee and told me that if that mass prove to be not the best fit then I would be able to return it and he would fit me for another. That makes shoving out 70 bucks for a mask a little less daunting. I really enjoyed his shop and he comes highly recommended. I will definitely be going back!

(Most of John H's reviews are 1 star, 10 out of 16 and only one non restaurant business got more than 1). They provide SCUBA classes with actual dives at nearby springs. Most of their dive equipment is Oceanic (BCs and computers). The have a pretty good supply of masks fins, wetsuits, knives and other equipment.
