All of these folks were amazing and so down to Earth. We had an excellent experience learning with Jeff. We are fairly new to diving and had never dove fresh water. What makes Jeff stand out is his teaching style; calm, observant, and confidence-building. He gives you space to find your own way while subtly guiding you toward doing things correctly. He uses small mistakes as a teaching opportunity and will never let you get in the water without checking that you're sure about what you've done is right. You never feel micromanaged, instead, you feel supported, capable, safe, and empowered. His gentle, relaxed voice and steady presence create the perfect environment to learn from your errors, and truly understand what you're doing. This event for my wife & I began our re-entry into Scuba and our daughters introduction. The 'vibe' and customer experience lead to us buying the necessary snorkeling gear for the Hawaii trip (Spring 2022) to getting our daughters open water certified (Labor Day 2022) on our youngest's 10th birthday. My wife and I went through an In-Active diver refresher along with the girls. The instruction was excellent, and scaled to the kids pace. We, without exception, enjoy the entire staff, had great interactions and have met/been introduced to some other locals who enjoy diving in and around the Sunshine State. Rodney was "drivin the boat" with style & class, while also being our handy dandy pool noodle handler. Austin was the man, he told us all about the manatees and marinated wet suits. I guess manatees are actually buff like body builders, ultimate sleeper build. Taking us to the hot spots we were finally in the water with what looked like giant turds; gentle turds. They kinda just live life, eating and sleeping while you stare at their muscles and watch them breathe. The amount of mental discipline you have to have is , you want to scream and squirm but can't. It might startle the manatees, the struggle was real. It was nice to get out with kind, genuine people, we were vibing. So all in all get ur butt over here and make some memories you'll never forget. I then told him I was going on a trip, and he recommended that I come to the shop and get a mask and snorkel. As soon as I walked in he was so kind and inviting. And to make it even better the dog, Rusty, was the best greeter ever! I've actually never been in a scuba store so I had no idea what was in there. Lloyd gave me a tour of the facility and even gave me a brief history of his over 30 year stint in Gainesville. He is beyond knowledgeable! He has been a master cave dive instructor for 25 years. What's great about this shop is that Lloyd has tested everything that he sells. He immediately was able to place me in 3 masks and then walked me through which one might be the best for me. He has a 100% satisfaction guarantee and told me that if that mass prove to be not the best fit then I would be able to return it and he would fit me for another. That makes shoving out 70 bucks for a mask a little less daunting. I really enjoyed his shop and he comes highly recommended. I will definitely be going back!
