I haven't been in a while but I'm glad I stopped in again. I bought two pairs of jeans and a top that I really liked. They have a good selection of a variety of gently used clothing and a variety of styles and sizes for men, women and teens. They also have accessories like purses, belts, jewelry and shoes and other items. They are clean and well organized, the service was good and friendly. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I don't like the curtain closures of the dressing rooms because it's not as discrete and secure. Also, some of the prices are high for used items. They have a variety of brands that are good brands but just a touch too high from my perspective. I would go again because I like quality jeans that have actually been worn as you know the fit will be the same after washing. read more

Brought in over $500 of merchandise. Purchased within 30 days. All the exact season they said they were buying for. They offered $30. This was all brand new with tags unworn. An absolute crock. They have disgusting used bags they're selling for $100 but offered $30 for three Tuckernuck dresses. read more

I like coming here because they usually have a pretty good selection. Most of their prices are reasonable for second hand clothing. The service is typically not great. No one is overly friendly here. They are mean by any means, but they don't look as if they are ready to jump up and help. They do have a good selection of lululemon, athleta, nike, etc. read more

went in to sell a dress and pair of shoes both of which were never worn and purchased in the past year. There were 3 people at the counter. After interrogating me to verify I had an appointment and was there at the scheduled time, they sent me to the back. The 3 of them stayed where they were giggling for a good ten minutes until one of them spotted me and "remembered" I was there. They took a quick look and told me they only purchase items bought in the past 18 months as if mine were not. They were rude. Would not give them any stars but at least one is required to post. read more

As far as resale shops go, this is a store where there is something for everyone. I found some like new and new items for great prices. While the store largely caters to teens and college students, there are some great finds for work clothes and jeans. Lucky Brand jeans for $20? Yes, thank you. I didn't buy a purse, but I was certainly tempted. There were lots of name brands with little wear. (I'm still thinking about that Marc Jacobs bag.) I had a great time combing through the racks. Then, I went to check out.... What a bunch of snotty punks. The young woman at the counter acted as though I had the plague. I handed over my credit card, and she recoiled in pseudo horror as she told me that they do not accept my particular credit card. Um, ok. That's not a big deal. Why be a jerk about it? When I go to resale shops, I do not expect stellar customer service, nor do I need anyone hovering over me. But when I am standing at the counter with payment in hand, is it too much to ask to be treated with SOME kind of common courtesy? I'll definitely go back. The bargains are worth it. But, please, work on some staff development. I'd like for it to be a tad more Neiman Marcus and a little less Nieman Road. read more

I was briefly impressed when I found this store a year ago or so; the last few times, not so much. The clothes are jammed in so tightly it's hard to look at them. The shoes are scattered and not organized. Customer service? Well, if you consider saying "hi" when I walk in, and "Bye" when I leave customer service, you're set. I carried a few pieces around the store, and had to assist myself to get a dressing room. When I came out to hang my rejects, the employee walked right up to me and didn't say a word. Lower end brands are well represented here; there are a lot of purses, that say they are Coach or another name brand. To be honest? I found better quality (and MUCH better prices) at the area Goodwill store. Many of these were clearly 'shrunk' from washing, and fading. That I would expect at Goodwill for $4.00; not here for $20. And yes, my visit to a similar store in St. Louis (see reviews) did spoil me, but I wouldn't hold all stores to the standard they set. read more

The store was just okay. The shirts mostly seemed out of date, I didn't know see anything I was remotely interested in as far as clothes. They had some cute boots for decent prices, large selection of purses. I've been in there twice and staff was never very friendly, first time noone said a word to me the whole time I was in there, the two girls working were too busy in their own conversation. I kept seeing the same sign at every street corner off Metcalf - and in too many words for a driver to have time to read, it basically described Ditto, a trendy new consignment shop, selling used clothes for sizes from Abercrombie to Express, Pink to Puma - your basic mall clothing. Finally, I found the location, hidden somewhere on 95th and Quivera. While inside I found some things quite expected and others surprising. The clothing is nothing special, most of it is regurgitated sweatshirts from American Eagle or Gap jeans, stuff that people don't feel torn about giving away, things that people easily grow out of, styles that are dated or boring, or both. I found the purses (most placed on the back wall above the shoes, and some hanging on top of the clothing racks) to be worth a look-through. I almost considered purchasing a beautiful Anne Taylor leather satchel, woven - it was something I would love to own for only $23 - and that was on the more expensive end of the purse price tags (most were about $14 or $18). The shoes were disappointing - but I suspect as more people discover Ditto their options will get better. I was eyeing one large shopping bag that someone had brought in and left by the side of the checkout counter and would have looked through it had that not been intrusive. Ditto is special in that it is roomier and nicer-looking than any other consignment shop in KC - it was designed to look like an upscale boutique, with light wood polished floors and recessed lighting. The racks were spread out and there was plenty of room to walk through without feeling like you're in a pile of other people's unwashed clothing (you know how sometimes used clothes can have that 'used' look and feel about them). Also surprising was the selection for every type of shopper: not only mens and womens, but children, plus-size, and maternity - very impressive. It's not perfect, but it's new and changing - it has something going for it and I hope its business continues to climb (it was busy enough during my 15 minute look-through). read more

I have had so many bad experiences with this location, I don't know why I keep trying to go back.. The options are terrible. The staff are unpleasant. When you take clothes in to sell, they wither under-pay or they "can't buy" my items. Not sure why they can't buy my Michael Kors wedges in the middle of summer when they have raggedy, out-of-style shoes on the racks. Do not waste your time here! read more

Ditto is brand new in its Lenxa location, and I stumbled upon it last week on accident(I promise it had nothing to do with me texting while driving and making a wrong turn...) Ditto is your typical young, hip clothing store that buys, sells and trades. I was impressed with their collection of denim and the young man who I spoke with said that they had only been open for a few weeks and getting their presence out there would take a little time. Platos Closet takes items anytime and Ditto only takes current season items. They offer a 40/60 (you get 40 they get 60). I will be back and re-review on my ditto-ing experience.... Ive sorted thru their NEVER organized racks and have found a few gems but when it comes to selling clothes to them its a complete crap shoot! I get that ppl want the latest and greatest, but they buy hose items with stains an holes, and forego buying gently used older items. I havent been to this location for a while, and was a little overwhelmed with all the new racks they had up. It was hard to sort it put before with the full racks, and they disnt do themselves any favors by eating up space to enjoy your reshop experience, with a bunch of new overloaded racks. Oh well i guess i dont have to shop there. Or sell there. read more

I absolutely love thrift shopping!!! Trying out new places I happened upon this store. When you walk in it's cluttered with all of the goodies! I got a very bland welcome, but whatever, I just started walking around looking at items then all of a sudden I felt like I was in a whimsical fairyland because I felt eyes on me.... I turn around and there eyes definitely on me. The associate followed me through every rack in the entire store. I didn't have any bags or n e thing to stuff n e where. I just know I will never spend my money in that establishment at all.... I will make sure that everyone I know knows exactly what I experienced at this store! read more

I am very impressed by the clothing selection at Ditto. It's also a very clean, neat and tidy store. The service however, is NOT SO GREAT. There is something really awkward about being the only customer in the store and the person working at the counter doesn't even say "hi" or "how are you"....Nothing....So I looked around and found a couple cute things. But i have a hard time dealing with unfriendly staff at a NEW store. I have been in there about 3 times now and the same 2 women are always working and they aren't getting any friendlier. You would think after my third time being there they would regognize me. Whatever. I will probably go back. I work close to Ditto and it's easy to swing by and take a look on my lunch break. If the store owner is reading this -GREAT STORE! but the service needs some HELP! read more

DON'T sell clothes here and take store credit as compensation, especially if you aren't going to use all of the store credit that same day. I had over $50 of store credit I received from selling clothing at this location. On the day I made the sale, I asked the employee if I need ed some kind of proof for my store credit. They assured me that the proof would be in their system once they made the entry. When I went in to use it, they said there was no record of my store credit in their system. I could literally point out the clothing I sold them that was currently on display in their store. But because one of their employees is either too lazy or too incompetent to enter the transaction into the system, I was out over fifty bucks in store credit. Dont take them at their word, ask for proof of the sale and store credit or, better yet, sell your clothes to a thrift store that will honor your store credit. read more

Whoever owns this shop might want to teach the girls that work there some good customer service skills. If I could give 0 stars, I would. This place is absolutely horrible. I visited both KC locations, both in Overland Park I believe, and they were absolutely terrible. The staff was extremely rude and acted as if it was an inconvenience to look through the clothes I had brought in. I guess maybe they don't understand that that is their job. The girls who work at these establishments look to be about the same age as me. They need a huge attitude adjustment. Not to mention that they give you practically nothing for your clothes. They bought six pairs of American Eagle jeans and at least 8 AE tops (with the tags still attached) and they offered me $30. Probably better off testing your luck on the Facebook marketplace. I've come here a few times to see if they would buy my stuff. I'm always getting told they are out to date I mean come on it's Victoria Serect bras barely used. I don't even think that they even take the time to look at the stuff one brings in. Talk about out of date their clothes are out of date here. Not a fan- the staff was not that friendly. They reminding me of snotty college kids-they were only looking for serious name brands. i brought in alot of items that were from macys. Mostly INC, they didn't take any of them. they took 1 pair of jeans and 1 belt. I looked thru their stuff, not bad, i saw some stuff had tears in it, there was a dress from target there, and all the plus size jeans were Lane Bryant. Which i don't like Lane Bryant jeans so there was really nothing for me there. i would maybe go back, they had some neat purses. i thought for being a consignment shop their stuff was expensive. Almost every pair of jeans i picked up was like $78. Might as well buy the real thing then! read more

New staff members are friendly and have been helpful when I'm looking for a specific look or brand. Young, fresh employees make it easy to see what's trending. I was so impressed by Ditto's selection of designer clothing and the overall presentation of the boutique. As a resale boutique I was able to find name brand clothing, such as Lululemon, Guess, Michael Kors, etc. that was in great condition and affordable. im a big bargain shopper and if you are too then you know at re-sale shops you dont ALWAYS find something, it depends on what others have brought in. But i will say that every time i have gone into Ditto i think im the luckiest girl in the world, i always find something fabulous and and the price is always right. very clean, organized, and i think the young girls working there where very sweet and helpful. read more

If you're going to sell, go to Plato's closet or really anywhere else. I brought a pair of Frye boots to their location at 119th and Metcalf. Offered me $11 for them and said they would sell them for $46. I have resale shopped for years and their mark ups are obscene. If they want to sell more upscale 2nd hand clothing, they need to employ staff that actually has style and knows what sells. Otherwise you're stuck with hopeless girls in flared American Eagle jeans and lacy camisoles overcharging you for haggy Old Navy clothes. read more

There are some nice clothes, purses, and shoes. The store is so huge that they carry a variety of styles and sizes. There is also a lot of junk and they only buy acutely what they say they will buy on their website. Some of the employees are nice and some more into fashion than working. read more

This thrift store is kinda amazing. Clothes are clean and well-organized. The price is kinda expensive compared to other thrift store but it's okay. I've found a few gems at this specific Ditto, but I love bargain shopping and getting trendy clothing at great prices. They have a lot of clothing to look at, but I've found new in box Prada shoes for work, super comfy and under $100. I also love their shorts and buttoned shirts for work. Girls in my family have also found great Lululemon stuff so I think if you check their clothes often you'll be surprised what you can get while it's there. read more

To think I almost missed the beginning of the Royals game for this mess! I walked in and was not acknowledged by one of the three ladies that were working and just talking amongst themselves. I basically got the same treatment the entire time I was there except for one redhead that was actually trying to help me... a little bit. I stood by the dressing room for a few minutes while the three of them talked and didn't try to help yet again. Maybe I strolled into the middle of a customer service training meeting? Even if I had found something (which I didn't) there is no way I would give that store my hard earned money for that type of treatment. read more

The store has a pretty good selection of items, but some are still priced a little too high for being used. I wouldn't recommend bringing any of your own items here to sell. I brought in three bags of clothes and shoes, walked around in the store for about twenty minutes, was called back to be told that nothing I had could be used in the store. I completely understand this because I figured most of my items weren't 'in season', but what bothered me is that the bags were still in the same place in front of the counter and looked untouched. It seemed as if the girl didn't feel like going through any of the bags. The staff here also isn't exactly rude, but they aren't very friendly either. If your idea of trendy men's clothes is old hollister sweatshirts and Chaps polos, then you're right on the money. Last weekend after a closet thinning I stopped in to sell some shirts that I no longer wear, err fit in. Even though I was the only one in the store the clerk said just leave it on the counter. I did and patiently sifted through the collection outdated hoodies and American Eagle jeans. When she called me over she offered to buy 2 pair of shoes I stuffed in the bag at the last minute. The bag of shirts, she snottily informed me she doesn't buy those brands. She told me with a condescending level of disgust that she had never even heard of those brands. It was then I learned how this store who set out to be a trendy hip resale shop is flooded with Gap and addidas sweatshirts. The brands she'd never heard of were Etro, Helmut Lang, and Roberto Cavalli. She said not to be offended, sometimes they don't even buy some Nautica stuff. It's ok, I'm not offended. read more

I have been to this store twice, the first time to shop and the second time to try and sell some items. Neither time was staff overly friendly, just a "hi" when I walked in. When I went back the second time to try and sell some items, I called ahead to ask if they were buying and what season they were buying. I was told that they were buying for spring and summer, so I made sure to take shorts, sandals, and summer dress tops. I also made sure I had brands they said they would accept; Loft, Ann Taylor, Gap, and Banana Republic. Several of the items either still had tags or were only worn a couple times and still looked new. I looked around the store while they went through the items I brought in. Most of the clothes on their racks were very worn; nubby material, stains and a LOT of cheaper brands like Target that they say they will not accept. The girl took less than 5 minutes to look through the basket full of clothes and shoes I brought and told me they couldn't take anything because they were already really full and some of the brands I brought the do not carry. They do not carry Loft? Ann Taylor? Banana Republic? That's funny because their website and the flyer they give at checkout says that they do accept these brands. Plus you will find these brands for sale on their racks. I was mainly annoyed because I had called ahead first to not waste my time if they weren't buying. If they are only going to buy a few specific items like coach bags or Miss Me jeans then they need to tell people this so people don't waste their time. I did not end up purchasing anything either because the one decent top I found had a stain on the sleeve when I looked closer. I won't be going back to shop or sell. Had a really bad experience trying to return a Christmas gift. No store credit, no refund, no nothing even though I had the receipt and it is less than 10 days after Christmas. They gave me 20% back on the original purchase, so I lost money and they lost a customer. They were talking real hard about their return policy, obviously I'm not the only one who didn't feel like they'd been made aware of the limited time available to return an item even for store credit. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I used to love this place (located in Overland Park, Kansas), I always recommended them to other people instead of Plato's Closet because the clothes and prices were great, but also the customer service was great as well. I went there today and had the worst experience I have ever had there. I brought in a formal dress that I bought there a few years ago, because I wanted to get rid of it, I honestly wasn't looking to make that much off of it. When I went in, there was a sign that said to go to the back desk for anyone wanting to sell clothes. I go to the back desk and two girls are back there talking to each other and on their cell phones, so I could not tell if they were working there or just waiting for someone to come out of the dressing room. I stood there looking around to find someone that worked there, they both were staring at me and didn't ask if I needed help. I asked what I need to do to sell the dress that was in my hand, one of the girls pointed to a clip board and said to just sign in. I signed in and then I had to ask what I do with my dress, because they both continued to stare at me and not help me. The girl said to just place it on the bench next to desk, I did, and they still did not tell me what to do. So I walked away to look at clothes to wait and see what would happen. They eventually called my name and the girl that had helped me with my dress said "We don't take formal dresses." I told her that I got the dress here awhile back and she just laughed and said "oh." So I told her that's fine and tried not to be rude, since she could have told me that at the beginning when I clearly brought in a formal dress. I continued to shop, I even tried on a dress(that I bought even though the customer service was terrible). I came out of the dressing room to the desk and told one of the girls standing there that there was not a price tag. She looked at it and said I think it's $16 and then looked down at her phone. I stood there because I thought maybe she was being a professional retail associate and maybe looking up a price or something. I don't know why else she would have her cell phone out in front of a customer while she was working. She then looked up at me and said there is no computer back here, you will have to take it up to the front to pay for it and then continued to text. I was completely disappointed on how unprofessional and rude they were. I will not be recommending this store to anyone. I used to say this about Plato's Closet, but I would rather go there than Ditto ever again. I understand that this is not a Macy's or a Nordstrom's, so I wasn't expecting 5 star customer service. But I did expect the employees to be aware of the customers in the store and to not treat their customers like they are idiots when they ask questions.
