They have boys and girls clothes in racks to the ceiling! They have strollers, costumes, shoes, toys, etc. Literally everything that a kid would need. I was only here to sell however, so I dropped my bin off and completed the check-in process that would text me when they were finished going through my items. I docked one star because my bin was there all day and I finally got notified in the late afternoon, so it took a bit longer than quoted. I had dropped my things off right when they opened at 10am. They took about 75% of the clothes and I got $54 cash. Not bad! I was happy to sell to them and was going to donate the clothes anyway, so I was very pleased. I'll definitely be back to sell more in the future.

This year I let my daughter pick out the design and we ventured outside of our usual brand of hanna andersson to try The Children's Place as they had a bluey design she liked. We ordered them online and they arrived as expected. Except... my husband's was massive. Like comically large on him, so we needed to make an exchange. I loathe doing online exchanges so when I saw there was an in person store here at Oak Park Mall I decided to head over to take care of the return. It was easy enough to find the storefront but when I walked in it was the most chaotic scene I'd ever witness in a retail store. Clothes just jam packed into every nook and cranny, things on the floor because someone bumped into it due to no space to actually move, piles of clothes that should have been folded, and on top of it all an understaffed store with a line nearly out the door and bright fluorescents that just really enhanced the whole situation in the worst possible way. It was honestly a moment that made me really question my decision to purchase from this brand in the first place. Hanna Andersson would never! At any rate, I got in the line and as I was waiting I figured out what the issue was, it was a busy day and there was only one person working who knew how to process returns or do pick up orders, the other two folks really were only trained on a standard transaction. Unfortunately I was not the only one there with a special situation to get worked out. Once I got up to the front of the line I was relieved to find the gal working to be super kind, competent, and trying so hard to get through the long line. I felt for her as for retail, she was really doing a fantastic job. Despite their computer system crashing during the whole ordeal she took care of me, fixed my issue as fast as she could, while managing two folks that needed some hand holding, and trying to keep the whole line feeling taken care of. Someone should give her a raise! Long story short, this isn't a pleasant shopping experience, but the folks working are genuine and do a good job. I'd recommend coming during the week if you can swing it as this weekend visit in November was chaotic at best.

I go back to the fitting room & find they are both locked. I have to go look for a worker which finally I find one. She doesn't say anything but just unlocks the door & slips into the back room. She gave my the tiny room although I had a stroller, my 2yr old & my 5yr old with me & no one else was there. The fitting room is worse than a gas station bathroom. How hard is it to sweep??? The cashier didn't even look at me or say anything. I definitely will not go back to the store. The Children's Place has gone down hill tremendously in the recent years. That person receives a percentage of the profit. The shopping experience was a bit overwhelming, so give yourself plenty of time. The more you put into prepping your consignment items, the more $$ you'll walk away with. If you volunteer time, you can shop earlier than the crowds and have more choices. It's a great way to "level up" your stuff to get rid of the baby supplies and get new-to-you older kid things, but the vast majority of the sale is younger kids/baby things.
