We had a really good experience at Ditch the Itch. My daughter had been itchy for a few weeks, but I didn't think high schoolers still got lice and blamed it on dry scalp. Well I was wrong. I found Ditch the Itch here on Yelp. The ladies were so professional and kind. They fit us in on a Sunday afternoon. I liked that the location was in a private spot so we weren't embarrassed to go in. My daughter had two one hour treatments and is feeling great. Here hair looks and feels nice. I got the call from my girls school no parents want to get "your child has lice" I immediately picked her up and went on Yelp for a place to help. I came across Ditch the itch. When I called I talked to Mary and she got me in with in an hour and a half. I rushed my daughters over and had the pleasure of meeting Maria who was taking care of these pests for us. She checked my youngest and she had 5 tiny eggs. So I decided my oldest and myself needed to get check out as well (better safe then sorry) neither me nor my oldest had it so I know it came from school. (First week of kindergarten) she treated my youngest and removed the lice eggs (nits) she was absolutely amazing! She was so sweet and gave me amazing tips on how to prevent it in the future as well as how to clean all the beds and couches. If your like me and bugs are just not your thing I 100% recommend this place. Hands down the best experience for a situation that just sucks to be in. I purchased their take home kit for the second treatment for persecution which surprising my kids love the smell. They also have a prevention spray for everyday use which now I spray all the time. Thank you so much to ditch the itch my daughter had gotten lice three times this year. They are very knowledgeable and three treatment over the counter at the cvs is all it cost to have them do it. The over the counter stuff nix is junk an I spent hours. They did it in an hour and even show you how to do the second treatment yourself with enough product to do five treatment. Oh wow! Around 4 pm today (yesterday) I was glancing at my 4 year year old daughters head and noticed not one bug, but 2 or 3 crawling around. I am a crazy mother and freaked out refused to remove the live myself and immediately started looking on yelp for lice treatment salons. I came across ditch the itch, called and had 2 technicians sent to my home by 6:30 pm. It's been over 20 years since I've had or dealt with lice and both technicians were both extremely reassuring and non-judgmental. My daughter apparently had lice for about 2 months and I can't believe I never noticed! She never itched, and around 60 hair washings, I never once saw a single bug. I figured I would be labeled after expressing that, but nope. Not even a single negative comment. So, last Friday one of my twins, (who was home sick anyway) tells us she thinks she has lice. Upon inspection....yep. Called the school, all kids in her class were checked and checked o.k. except for one....my other twin. Ugh! Went to drug store, bought treatment. Used treatment and that cheap little comb they give, (which doesn't work!). By Saturday night when I was still finding live lice, and having read all the internet horror stories of people dealing with this for MONTHS, I quickly realized I was in over my head. I googled "professional lice removal" and found these guys. Oh, am I so glad I did. I called on SUNDAY morning. Mary answered the phone. She answered all my questions and put me at ease, as I was totally freaking out, (I HATE BUGS!). Unfortunately, she didn't have anyone who could come out to my home that day, but could book me a same day appointment at the salon. Upon arriving I was greeted by Sophia. She is just the kindest, sweetest lady ever. She checked my girls, me and my husband. Well, my husband didn't have them, but I had the dang critters too! Ugh! Did I mention I hate bugs? Sophia told me not to worry, she would have us bug free in no time. She took great care in combing out all of our hair, and I must say other than the reason I was there it was actually an enjoyable experience. It felt nice. She even got through my daughters' thick curly hair with ease and no pain to my kids. She did say we will need a follow up in 3 to 4 days just to make sure, (which I will definitely be doing....I SERIOUSLY HATE BUGS). Oh and I almost forgot to mention they don't us harsh chemicals on your head. It's all natural, this is a big bonus in my book. I came in today with my step-daughter and she was so excited. Obviously didn't have a clue on why we were there but Sophia made her comfortable in assuring her we were there to make her hair beautiful.
