I have been a Dita customer for a long time, buying a total of 10 pairs of glasses at various locations around the globe, including Japan, New York, and Melrose, so I was excited to bring my nephew and son to Dita Melrose while picking up a previous purchase to show them how great Dita glasses are. While at the store, my nephew and my son were trying on sunglasses that interested them. While trying on the glasses, the gentlemen there told them in a very unfriendly tone that he had to clean every pair that they tried on, which he did not say to any of the other customers there, to which I assume is because they do not look old enough to buy these specific sunglasses (which is disappointing to see as other Dita locations have provided great service). Luckily, there was another super friendly staff member, Kayli. She was patient and kind to us and ended up saving the day. She had turned our moods around. She was able to locate the Mach 6 I had wanted. Subsequently over the course of three weeks she had been very resourceful and helpful. My nephew ended up buying the pair of Flight 7 while I had bought two pairs of the Mach 6, one pair of the Decade 2, and one pair of Thom Browne eyeglasses for my wife. If it wasn't for Kayli's exceptional customer service we would not have gone back to the Dita on Melrose to make these purchases. Ive got 4 pairs of Dita, 2 prescriptions and 2 sunglasses, not cheap....but the frames get ugly after a year or so, If you pay $500-600 for frames they should last longer than a couple years...And they charge you a fortune to have them fixed... And some of the guys working there, rude son of a guns, you would think after spending thousands of dollars there would be some sort of gratitude. Came in there again the other day....I do love there frames and was hoping for different personal but no, felt rushed and just left. With the competition nowadays you would think they would have better customer service... See eyewear here I come.... read more

I got sunglasses here that I really really love. I don't usually put down money for things like sunglasses but figured that I would when I fell in love with these little things. Dita's are the current trendsetters in designer sunglasses in LA. Remember in 2000, when you where the only one wearing Seven for all Mankind jeans. This is the way you might feel with your Dita's. Wait 3-4 years and every guy or girl will have a pair of Dita sunglasses perched on their head. Even worse, you'll have that Guido-looking character wearing them to the clubs (Je comprende pas?). Having had Lindsey, Nicole, Paris, Brad, Angelina, De Niro wear their sunglasses, Dita's are a fashion must have. The Dita boutique on Melrose is a delight to visit. Not only can you check out the sunglasses, you can also take a look at the accessories (I am beginning to sound like a female here). Now, if only my health insurance covered sunglasses. I bought a pair of glasses over 2 years ago and part of the metal frame broke, so I took them into the store to get them fixed. A week later, they called me to say that my frames were ready, so I went and picked them up yesterday. Much to my surprise, they gave me a brand new pair! I will never buy a pair of glasses anywhere else. I am writing this review 2yrs plus after buying my Thom Browne glasses here. I was a little hesitate to spend so much but now I realize every dollar was worth it. First you are buying something unique. Ray bans fall off trucks in every city but Ditas selection is unique. I came to LA from NYC & SF and while I wish there was Dita you can only find it here. More importantly, you don't just get glasses. Dita provides the best service. It took me two years to figure it out but I just went back to the store and they are fixing my bent frames and even replacing the lenses on my sunglasses for under 50. In addition, just because I don't live in la doesn't mean I have to wait for my repairs. They are shipping me my specs. I can't say enough about what a great place this is. read more

Already bought two for myself, "targa" & "grandmaster II" and bought two other for friends. Recently my targa's temple became lose and I had it for about 5 years. When I took it in for service, they repaired my sunglasses at no-charge, however they had to take it in for about a week or two...this is when I bought my grandmaster II which was about $600. Their service is GREAT!!! I like the how the store look and the quality of their products are just superb! read more

Hidden in the catacombs and rusty hole-in-the-walls of Melrose street is the fascinating and exhilirating Dita Legends store. Bought a belt and Maximillian there. The best I have ever seen. No one else will have my belt I am sure in North America. Loni is sweet. See you soon again. read more

I love the design. But I was recently BLOWN AWAY by the service. Bought my glasses in 2012. Was loading my car, put glasses on trunk, my son closed the trunk - squish. Called DITA. Spoke with Brady Wills. Sent them in. He immediately called with diagnosis. Frame out of production. No replacement parts left. We chatted - agreed he would take best shot to repair - but they may break or stay damaged. I received them back. Nice handwritten note from Brady. FIXED. Included new cloth. NO CHARGE. Less than 10 months ago, I purchased a pair of frames from Dita. Now they are cracking and the lens is about to fall out. Allegedly, there is a guarantee of quality, however multiple attempts to contact them for a replacement pair have resulted in either no response, or an automated one. Given the price point for their frames and the competitive market, I would not recommend their product, minimal value and zero customer service. read more

I bought my pair of Dita's in the store on Melrose. Always loved them, the quality of the frames is noticeably. In this world of high fashion seekers, sometimes you pay for a name. With Dita you pay for quality. I recently decided to treat myself to some "new" glasses by changing the lenses. I switched from very light grey to dark gradient brown. Jason Eyerly at the Melrose store told me to send the frames to him (from Dallas) when he got them he called me and we discussed options: Polarize vs. non, Grey vs. Brown. Cost etc. After one week I called to see where the glasses were. Jason profusely apologized for his "negligence" in not letting me know that the lenses I chose where out of stock. Keep in mind they don't make my glasses as they are 4 years old. I was not mad at all, one week is not a long time to wait. Jason was not done, he insisted on having the lab cut my lenses, upgrade to polarized and FedEx my "new" glasses to me for NEXT morning delivery. Oh, and he said it was complementary since I was inconvenienced. Of course, I was never inconvenienced. I was very impressed. I have NEVER had customer service like this, and I am not a young man. Jason is a prince and should be recognized and cloned. The glasses look completely new and look different, really cool. Dita sent the glasses in a new case and box, all free. It looks like I have new $350 glasses. FYI- the charge would have only been $50 total.
