I have a bit of a bias against this place and it's not really against THIS place at all. After my…read morefather died my mom spent a lot of time here to cope when it used to be Freddy's. Some might say too much time. Some might say. So I just typically avoid the area because it brings back so much...stuff. When it transitioned to Stateside sometime during the early days of the pandemic we did get take out once and it was delicious - I still dream about the Brussels sprouts. But it was a bit expensive when everyone was dying and all. Like am I really gonna risk my life for $16 sprouts? I think not. Now I think it's under new - new management. My cousin stopped by there about a month ago when she was in the area and gave it great reviews. I was feeling A Kind of Way a couple of weekends ago and just really wanted a cold beer. So me and huzzo stopped in. Service was good and beer was solid. This week I wanted another beer. Blame your president as he insists upon annihilating everyone and sending our collective pressure through the roof. We arrived about 20 minutes before the end of Happy Hour and snagged a couple of beers as well as wings and a shrimp quesadilla. The food was great but the service was the real stunner. I found myself stuck between two beers and the bartender suggested Arnold Palmering it and going halfsies on both. Fantastic decision - the mixed drink was refreshing and tart without being too pedestrian or too far afield. Food came out quickly and deliciously. Saved $15 on food prices alone during Happy Hour. Fat things: The bar stools are excellent - steel with a wide seat and a foot bar so your legs don't fall asleep. And they don't pack too many of them in so it's easy to get into and out of your seat without bumping someone else. Other stuff: They have regular indoor seating and an outdoor seating area on the side with couches, high table, and heat lamps. Overall, the space is open, airy, bright, and clean. It's pretty packed when the temps warm up but shoulder season is very nice for us right now. Be advised: Regular menu prices still seem steep - like everything else these days. But the food is good and they have a very nice craft beer selection. If you can't make happy hour and are looking to treat yourself this might be it. We'll def return!

It is low quality food and mixed drinks, and it's not cheap, either. First of all, they do have a happy hour...stick to beer and wine. The top shelf mixed drinks are made weak, so skip those. Salad bar add-on, $6.99, can be worth it...the greens were fresh. However, skip any of the mixed pasta salads or broccoli salads. The mixes are rather strangely flavored. Skip the soup. Skip the super thin steak, which is so thin that it's difficult to achieve a medium rare grilling. Skip the grilled chicken breast- they are very brined and teeny tiny, not worth the $18.99 plate. Skip the mashed potatoes, opt for rice or fries instead. Skip the fried shrimp. What CAN I recommend? The ribs. Those were worth the $22 price tag. The fries were good. Our bill, for two entrees, and four alcoholic beverages (wine, one mixed drink), came to $120+. No joke. We joined their "club" to get one entree free. While the server was generally on top of things, he really failed to give us good ordering advice. I'd rate him a 5/10. I still left a 20% tip, but I did politely let him know that the steak was unacceptable, even after specifically asking about the thickness of the steak. I hope he accepted my advice. Ruby Tuesday - you used to offer a pretty good salad bar back in the day. Now, it's very basic, too basic. You have raised your prices and your food quality is low, and portion sizes are very small. Upgrade the size of your chicken breast to a normal size. Your dollop of mashed potatoes was sad, and you subbed a tiny bit of overcooked broccoli for the advertised zuccini without even a word. Your glossy photos on the menu do not even come close to looking like the actual plate of food.

Besides the classics fried seafood and hot dogs, they're also doing chicken wings, cheesesteaks, pastrami sandwiches, even a half-chicken with fries. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The foot-long delivers and the regular dogs are fine, if not a little salty. The chicken wings are great, but I always get them naked and then dip in sweet chili, sriracha,Nashville hot, bbq, or another half-dozen sauces. I had the half chicken there and enjoyed it. My mother was happy to find a place still doing fish and chips around here, and we got it several times. The fries are crinkle cut, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and kind of addictive. The whitefish fried filet is not bad, but the fried shrimp steal the show. Those are crunchy and also a bit addictive. Hard to eat just a few. I would go back there just for the fried shrimp. The hush puppies are the lowest point: too dense and dry. They also do burgers there but I haven't tried those yet. Overall, good experience there, the chicken dishes are the standouts.
