St. Louis style ribs with onion rings, Mac n' cheese and a fountain drink at $35
Jeff E.

When District BBQ first opened I heard great things about it but never made it to the restaurant, and bet the years that chatter died down and I stopped hearing about it all together. I happened to be over in the area and needed to grab lunch so I thought now would be a good time. I drove over expecting to see a lunch rush but that was not the case and it was empty except for 1 table of about 5 people that were eating and talking. The restaurant is nice plenty of lighting, seating, and pictures of BBQ with award banners all over and that great smell of wood burning so could it be all that bad and maybe I missed the lunch rush? So I head to the counter and see menu above and it's a limited menu and feels like it's geared towards more of a large family/ catering clientele. As I am looking it over I hear a voice from somewhere behind the counter yell that they will be there in a minute. So after a minute or so a tall employee appears and asks, "do I know what I want"? No welcome or hello and I proceed to to ask a few questions about the menu and he seems irritated but my questions so I wrap it up quickly and order a half rack of St. Louis Ribs (6 bone), onion rings, Mac n' cheese, and a drink for $35. I paid and grabbed my cup and he said he will call me when it's ready. About 10 minutes later he yells out my number and I go grab my meal. The meal look great but I felt it might be a bit expensive for the portions but I dug right in. The ribs were dry, lightly seasoned, and not very meaty and I mean like they were cut thin to use the meat elsewhere. The sauces helped give the ribs some flavor. The onion were what you would expect and the Mac n' cheese had good flavor but was nothing special. All in all between the employee with the dry, I don't want to be here personality, the quality of the food, and the cost to portion ratio I won't return to District BBQ anytime soon. There are better chain BBQ restaurants around that don't cost as much and have better portions and better menu items.

I visited District KC BBQ the first week they were open. There was a long ass line to get up to the counter to order. The dining area was packed. I ordered 'cue to go: Brisket, pulled pork, burnt ends, a sausage link, green beans, and Mac n' cheese. Plus some small soufflé cups with spicy sauces. Everything was pretty good! I will be back! #DistrictKCBBQ

An excuse for a Brisket sandwich

New to VA, love BBQ so I figured I'd give this place a try. It definitely looks cool on the inside. Although the guy working was very friendly to the customer in-front of me, he was pretty dry with me. Didn't say hello/thank you and just handed me my bag at the end. While making my food, I saw them bring out a bag where my brisket was in. They then put in some sort of stirring thing than gave me my brisket sandwich. The buns on my sandwich were warm, but the brisket was COLD. Not room temperature, but COLD. Even if it was warm, I noticed that it was way too salty. I've never had this issue with any kind of brisket before. I couldn't eat half of it before realizing this couldn't be right and decided to get something else. If you're in VA, and want BBQ, I highly recommend The Bone BBQ in Manassas. Minus their pulled pork (wasn't a big fan) their BBQ was some of the best I've had in my life. And if you go there; their Mac and cheese is a MUST try. And a friendly staff, unlike this place. And don't be fooled by the menu prices on the pics posted here or their website.

Two meat dinner--burnt ends and pulled chicken $12 rip-off!

Was visiting family in Bristow VA and decided to bring food. Popped into to District KC BBQ and ordered (2) "Two meat dinner plates". Never checked the bag. The portions were so small and I was so embarrassed, ended up taking my family member out to a late lunch instead. Have had free samples at Costco that were larger than District's portions. Definitely a lesson learned! Don't waist your time with this place. Look for Mission instead!

Legit KC BBQ. Had it 5 times while working in Manassas. I live in KC and it was like I was home. Thank you!

Tried this place last week. The ribs were pretty good as well as the baked beans, but the macaroni and cheese was horrible.

I've been a customer here for over 2 years and have LOVED not only the experiences I have when…read moreshopping here, but also their selection, customer service and knowledge of smoking, BBQ'ing and seasonings!! I even came here to buy my XL BGE over a year ago! But, one thing we definitely do is have a pantry stocked with DP seasonings! I seriously don't know of any other brand of seasoning that is better (across the board of flavors) than DizzyPig! Recently, we attended their DizzyFest, the 2nd one we've ever attended and it was AWESOME! If you get a chance to go - GO!!!! But seriously, if you're seeking amazing BBQ'ing/Smoking help or knowledge and all the equipment needed to smoke meats (or veggies) properly, this is the place!

Stopped in after I was done conducting my business in the neighborhood - was not sure if I was going to find a place selling BBQ meats or what. What I did find was a place selling The Green Egg, grilling tools and accessories, wood chips, and all sorts of rubs, spices, and sauces. I'm a sucker for grilling and so found a few kitchen/grilling tools I decided I must have - a new grill spatula, a pair of grill tongs, a Jalapeño corer, and a fruit coring tool. Check Dizzy Pig out if you are in the area - although it has a Manassas address, I think it's closer to Gainesville, VA...

Saw another TT that they were at Lorton Station so I stopped by! I would recommend pre-ordering if you want to try their food or get there early so they don't sell out. We had pre-ordered our food for pickup at 5 and didn't get it until 5:30, but that's just because they were busy and trying to fulfill orders before us. It did kind of suck waiting, but it was delicious. My ribs were tender, seasoned with the approval of the ancestors. The mac was warm, cheesy, and a bit creamy all in one bite. The yams were just sweet, cinnamon goodness. And the green beans were smothered in a gravy of yumminess. My husband had the fish which unfortunately was a little too fried but he still enjoyed the food. While we waited, we did overhear him tell a few customers they were sold out of some things, so if you are thinking of trying them, get them when you see them, don't wait...especially at an event or pre-order if you have a chance. I will be back.

Tap water tasted funny. Service wasn't so stellar as it was before. Not very helpful and one person had long hair flying everywhere. If I'm cruising through the neighborhood and have a taste for chicken, maybe. The place isn't horrible. Seemed pretty clean & the food tastes good, but the texture isn't what you may expect. It's definitely not a spot where you wouldn't want to hang out if you're anything other than a local group of teenagers or people stopping for a quick lunch.

I'll have to come back check out the rest of the menu, the dumplings were 10/10 as well. Only ding is I spent $40 for med boneless order with dumplings and a drink, expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. The chicken is very meaty and I probably should've gotten a small but, omg it was so worth it! Like any self respecting Korean chicken spot they have the Kpop running on the TV's. And the nice staff actually brought the food to the table which was a nice touch The have some sauces for dipping over by the napkins, I got some honey mustard just to try it, I bet if you get the original golden (no sauce) it goes well with that Only real complaint is the price, but it's not really a complaint so call it 4.5 stars, highly recommend
