3 stars for the delicious food but should have been 4.25, maybe even 5 stars if not for a disappointing customer service issue on my latest visit So glad Dish N Dash finally opened a location in the Tri-Valley. Used to be a semi-regular customer when I lived in the South Bay. Already visited this new Dublin branch 5 times in July alone between the 8th thru the 30th. Receipts posted. Love the whole menu but what got me excited was how vegetarian friendly the menu was. Got a health scare recently. Hopefully the issue was discovered in time. So I must really be intentional about my food choices, eating more veg and limiting carbs. And while I'm learning to like salads, I really like cooked, tender, crisp veg. My 1st visit, fell head over heels for the vegetarian platter. The falafel were piping hot and delicious. The tabouli salad was yummy but while bulgur is supposed to be a good carb, I chose to use my carb allotment for the pita instead. I used it to scoop up the delicious hummus, babaganoush, and red bell pepper walnut dips. My dad loved eggplant but I never liked it as a kid. The mushy texture and grey slime was off-putting. Times have changed. The babaganoush is to die for. Love the smoky flavor and the slightly warm mash actually makes for a great "scoop"able dip. The falafel wasn't as good on the 2nd visit. It wasn't as hot as the last time. The cooler temp changed the eating experience. The crust was a bit harder and cut up the roof of my mouth a little bit. The texture was crumbly and dry in the mouth. Had to take it home to reheat. Much better hot. My 3rd visit was for takeout. Got some more of the yummy babaganoush and red bell pepper walnut dips. Ignored the pita and made a crudite platter with baby carrots, endive, Persian cucumbers, green beans, jicama, radish, and grape tomatoes. On my 4th visit, shared a lamb wrap with my sister. So yummy. This time again ignored the pita and slathered the babaganoush on the wrap. Also loved the grilled veg side. So colorful chock full of different veg. 5th visit was a little bit of a bummer. Got the grilled salmon which included a carb side of rice or freekeh. Asked to replace the carb side with grilled veg instead. I know freekeh is another good carb but since I have a limited daily carb allowance, I wanted to use it on the grilled veg and not on a starch. The cashier let me have the substitution but gave me a hard time about it. Said they'll do it this time but don't expect the same courtesy in the future. Totally sapped my enjoyment of the yummy food. Do not enjoy being scolded like a child. The rest of the menu is highly customizable but they will draw the line on substituting veg v. starch sides? This is the hill they will die on? Really? Ugh. Dish N Dash please change this policy. Let all sides be equally interchangeable. If cost is the issue, then offer the exchange for a small fee. If it is because staff is new, then they shouldn't be flying solo in a customer-facing job until they are fully trained. The point is to say no without scolding the customer. I'm well into middle age and far from being a child. These swaps were not frivolous. I was not trying to be a jerk but some food could literally affect my health. Dish N Dash is a huge, slow-casual Mediterranean restaurant in the Hacienda Crossings in Dublin, located behind Best Buy and across from Dublin Toyota? By slow-casual, you order from a huge menu and pay first. They'll cook and prepare your food to order and bring to your table. This is not a Chipotle-style assembly line. The food here is outstanding and all three meats we got were seasoned and super moist and juicy. Highly recommend the beef and chicken kabob plates, which each come with tons of sides. Freekah and aged basmati rice are both good. Meats were perfectly cooked, and beef was soft a 6yo kid can chew with no issues. For sides, we liked lentil soup, grilled veggies, hummus, and baba ghanoush. Another healthier option is their salad with a thick, basil-tahini salmon filet. Loaded with contrasting flavors, textures, and color from all the veggies. The Pomegranate dressing was hardly needed. Definitely adding this one to our lunch rotation. I love me some Dish N Dash. First time to this Dublin location and went for a Wednesday lunch. Plenty of parking. Very spacious restaurant with lots of seating and most of the TVs were showing the World Cup match. We ordered at around 11:40 with no line. The lunch rush came after we ordered and the line was almost out the door. I was with some former coworkers and we weren't doing family style, so I decided to try something new. Our family usually gets Mansaf and a few skewers plates. I went with the Salmon Salad. The salmon is fantastic - tender, flavorful, and a large portion. One of my sides was Baba Ghanoush which I mopped up with my pita bread and Za'atar Lavash Chips. My other side was seasoned Fries. Those had some crispiness but I thought overall were on the soft side and just not super exciting. My coworker got the Spiced Carrots & Walnuts and highly recommended that. That one is not usually in my consideration set, so I'll have to try it next time. The staff was nice enough to let me try both salad dressings. A pomegranate vinaigrette and a lemon oregano vinaigrette. The pomegranate one was quite sweet with some tartness and definitely had pomegranate flavor. The lemon oregano was on the oilier side (seemed like the emulsion was broken). I thought they were both ok, but I might have liked the salad with just the self serve cilantro-mint and yogurt garlic sauces. If you haven't tried Dish N Dash yet, please go check it out! Wow, what an excellent meal and overall dining experience! Made it feel like I was dining at home with family. Food was super tasty, staff were friendly and helpful, and service was super efficient! I can say without a doubt that the food was just as good as my excellent mother-in-laws authentic Lebanese cooking! We ordered two plates, a chicken kabob plate and a sumac chicken salad. For desert we enjoyed a yummy kunafa which was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. Truly blown away by the overall level of hospitality and such a great atmosphere. So glad we finally got a Dish n Dash! Ordered for pickup on a weekday and it was crowded in the parking lot (a good sign!). Husband said it was well organized inside in terms of where to pick up to-go orders, etc. The food was delicious, and the portions were hearty. Hubs got the Beriani Dajaj. It was surprisingly saucy. We thought it would be a drier dish, but it was very good nonetheless. And the extra sauce was so good mixed with the rice. I got the grilled chicken shawarma with garlic dip and tabouli as my sides. It was also very good and so flavorful. I do wish there'd been a little more tabouli, but the garlic dip was fantastic. The shawarma comes with edamame corn salsa, which tasted fine but the I didn't care for the textures. I'd probably ask to exclude the next time if I remember. It wasn't a deal breaker, just more chewing than I wanted. But hey, there are so many other things on the menu we want to try. They even have fresh pressed juices! Came here on a Friday for dinner. This is a counter service type restaurant. You order at the counter, then find a table. Your food will be brought out to you. It was obviously busy as they had just opened the Wednesday prior. The restaurant is nice and new. Aesthetically, not as nice as the Cupertino location, but still fine. Lamb Shwarma grill plate - 4/5: always my favorite with hummus, cabbage and walnuts, with freekah. All very tasty, not overcooked. First time trying the cabbage and walnuts. That was a nice surprise and will order it in the future as a side. Sauces available was yogurt, chipotle yogurt, green and red sauce. Not sure what the last two sauces were called, but those are spicy. Chicken shawarma grill plate - 4/5: very good with a nice spicy, not hot flavor. The combination of tamarind and cumin is nice. Hummus on the side which is always good. Falafel was solid as well and good dipped in chipotle yogurt! Baklava - 4/5: solid offering. Buttery and crisp. Overall, great addition to Dublin. I visited the opening day of the new Dish n Dash location in Dublin, and it was a great first impression. I've tried their other locations like Sunnyvale and Milpitas before, so I was especially excited for their first Tri-Valley opening. The restaurant took over the former Applebee's location and completely redid the space. The ambience is now rustic and chic, a major change from before. There's plenty of seating with both an outdoor patio and an indoor dining area. For the opening, it was nicely decorated with balloons and flowers. The ordering system is fast-casual. You choose your table, order at the front, and the food is brought out to you. It's also self-serve for condiments and extras. For food, we tried a few items. The chicken kabob plate came with basmati rice and a choice of two sides. We chose falafel and babaganoush. We also had the chicken shawarma, which was served inside a large pita, with fries and hummus on the side. The chicken kabob was slightly dry and a bit chewy, but the falafel and shawarma were flavorful. Both plates also came with extra pita bread. Portions were generous across both plates, and everything was filling. For dessert, we ordered the baklava crumble, which was vanilla ice cream topped with flaky pieces of baklava. It worked really well as a deconstructed dessert and was a nice finish to the meal. Pricing is in the typical range for Mediterranean spots in the Tri-Valley, coming to around $20 per plate, which feels fair given the portion sizes and quality. Where to start when you've been absolutely blown away in every aspect of a dinner experience. The design of the outside looks really good I like it a lot. When you walk in it's even better. Everything is well spaced and not crowded. Everything from the paint to the coloring of the furniture is well done and clean. They have a few TV's which is really nice and outside seating. The amount of seating is great. The staff is amazing and very friendly. I was able to meet some really nice people today. For the food absolutely amazing. Best Middle Eastern food I've ever had. between the wife and I we had the Shawarma Hummus with lamb. Wow what a dish. Next we had the Shawarma lamb and the wife had lamb kabobs. Both dishes we decided on rice and lentil soup. Both those dishes were amazing also. I decided to try the Jasmine Petal tea and that was very good as well. Best lamb outside of my home we have ever had. I do a good amount of lamb cooking at home. We can't wait to go back again but this time we will bring the kids as they love this type of food as well. I'm glad that Dish n Dash finally made it out to the Tri-Valley! We had a group lunch here and it was perfect. Our lunch was at 1 o'clock on a weekday, and when we came in, the place was pretty crowded, but it cleared out fairly quickly. The portions are large and there was plenty enough to take home as leftovers. The Rihan was delicious. My pulled sumac chicken was delicious, but I forgot what a tang that sumac had! This shows it was really authentic as they didn't hold back on the sumac! The falafels were also very very good. I also tried their spiced carrots, which were excellent. When I saw Dish N Dash was coming to Dublin, I was giddy like a schoolgirl! I have had Dish N Dash in Fremont and I have to say I was hoping this new establishment would be equal to, or better than what I had expected. THIS LOCATION IS SO CONVENIENT FOR US AND I WAS BLOWN AWAY BY THE SERVICE. The owner came out to greet us, explain the menu and I gushed to him about how beautiful it was inside. The staff behind the counter had smiles and were very helpful in explaining the menu to the customers that had never been there to dine. M nephew ordered the chicken shawarma wrap. He was stuffed and could barely finish his side of rice. From the lack of conversation during the mean, it is apparent he enjoyed his wrap. Hubs had the kebob meal with lentil soup, falafel, roasted veggies and chicken. This was such a big meal that Hubs had most of his chicken and veggies left to take home for a large snack. My Hubs works in the area of the Fremont location and is a regular customer. He mentioned the small differences in the locations and hopes the Dublin location will get a liquor license and offer beer and wine. The smoothie and drink bar in Dublin is great, but options for beverages for brunch and dinner would be even better. I had the chicken shawarma meal with pita and hummus. For the amount of chicken and hummus, I felt like there should at least be 2 more pieces of pita. I ran out of pita before I was able to finish my chicken and hummus. The hummus was smooth and the spices on the chicken were well balanced. I especially like that the chicken was not dry. No one likes dry chicken, except one of my friends (she likes her meat overcooked and dry as a bone. She will know who she is if she reads this review). We've been loyal fans of their South Bay location for over 25 years, so having them open in the East Bay feels like a dream come true. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by their longtime manager, who even recognized us as repeat customers, along with the owners themselves. That kind of hospitality is rare and truly makes you feel like family. The food is hands down the best Mediterranean cuisine around--fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care it reminds me of home-cooked meals straight from my own kitchen.
