Sandwich on terrible bland bread - not good and I would not recommend. I expected better. Disappointed for a place to eat in Boulder

After awful (no) service at Cured, we walked over to Dish. A shop we've enjoyed for years. Service was ok, but timely given the crowd and our food was great. The "Chook" was a perfect sandwich for today. I look forward to trying it again soon. Biggest complaint about Dish is the tight space and limited outside seating. read more

Yummo is all I can say about this place. I can't wait to go back and when I do, I may bump it up to five stars, but right now Dish is a very solid four. I went with friends on Saturday and we all really liked what we got. I had the Chook which was chicken, mozzarella, pesto, and maybe a few other delicious things on ciabatta. OMG it was good, and huge, so I didn't mind that it was almost ten bucks because had I actually eaten the leftovers I would have gotten two meals out of it. Sandwich and chips will cost you about 9 dollars. That makes it about a dollar more than a regular sandwich joint. Since everything is made fresh in the kitchen, including the bread, I think it is worth the extra expense. Food is good too. I normally go for the chicken and tarragon sandwich on a baguette. Another nice thing is the kitchen is spotless and is visible from the place you order or from large windows facing Pearl St - do you really want to know what Salvaggios or Snarfs kitchens look like? One drawback I see is the fact they are located on east Pearl st, too far from the walking mall and parking during lunch can be a chore. read more

This is one of my new favorite sandwich shops in Boulder. They have an insanely massive selection of sandwiches so you can always try something new. However, it gets harder and harder to branch out as everything I've tried is so tasty! I would highly recommend any of the fish sandwiches- Scuba Steve is like a fish taco in a sandwich, and the Kenai is a fresh take on the classic bagel and lox. They also have a a delicious selection of sides to pick from- the sweet and sour brusselsprouts I had last week were delicious and so unique. The wait after you order can be a little long, so make sure you have plenty of time if you come during lunch. But order an iced tea and relax on the sunny patio with a friend! read more

This place has amazing sandwiches, salads, and soups. They're very accommodating even when it comes to large, last minute take out orders. Everyone in our office loves the variety and quick turnaround of ordering here. You really can't go wrong! They're cookies are also amazing if you have a sweet tooth. Today we had a last minute meeting and when I called my order was made and set within just a few minutes and with a great attitude! delicious sandwiches. i go here at least once a week. i tend to always get one of two sandwiches and they're always consistently great. their soup is amazing - i've had it once - as are their sides. the various quinoa sides are my favorite. their sandwiches are huge, however i always will usually save half for later or you can simply order 1/2 sandwich, which i do often. i highly recommend this place! read more

As I write this review, I regret to remember that I no longer live in Boulder, but whenever I make it back, my first stop is Dish. The gourment deli, that is conveniently tucked away on the east end of Pearl Street, boasts quality artisan and local ingredients. Every sandwich I've tried is indulgent and affordable - though I'm quite smitten with The Piglet (you are what you eat?). I came here with my boyfriend on a Wednesday, and our experience was awful. I ordered a BLAT and when it came, there wasnt any avocado on it, so I very politely asked one of the sandwich makers to fix it. When I got It back the sandwich had blackened, rotting avocado that was obviously passed it's prime smeared all over one half of the sandwich with all of the lettuce and tomato piled on top, leaving only bacon on the other half. It was sloppy, ruined, and looked disgusting, and given that I paid 8 bucks for such a simple sandwich, it was utterly ridiculous. I dont know what I did to offend the man making my food, but if you don't like working in the food service industry and feel the need to take it out on your customers, you should work elsewhere. read more

Great quality food, feels light. Ordered: The Globber - turkey sandwich. The bread was tasty but the turkey lacked a little flavor. Salad and homemade dressing was great. I found another place that I can keep going back to in Boulder! Dish is awesome because of their fresh food made from scratch (and you can really taste it) and everything is tasty. Their large selection of sandwiches, deli side dishes and their soup of the day are all very well thought out. Their French Chocolate Cookie (I think it was called...) was really good with a gooey, chocolaty center inside. I think I'm going to be one of their regulars now. It's that kind of a place. All of their food is top notch, but I've recently been extremely impressed with their Piglet samich. Not normally a huge ham fan, but still a lover of all things pig, their Long Farm ham is awesomo! So soft, so tender, so supple. Ciabatta is also not my first bread choice, and the piglet rides upon one that makes this thing oh so tasty. I'll be a regular just for this menu selection. read more

I stumbled along Dish one day while walking along Pearl St. and couldn't have been more grateful. Dish serves gourmet type sandwiches but with a casual atmosphere. My personal favorites are the East End, the Gobbler and the Chook. All of the sides in the display case are also delicious!! read more

I'm a big salad person and this place has GREAT salads. I've only had 2 so far, but always happy. I've gotten the Bloody Good Salad a few times, and it's definitely yummy. But today I had the Mediterranean Salad and - OMG - that was downright AMAZING. I love salads with lots of "stuff" in them, which Meds usually don't have a ton of. But this one was JUST DELICIOUS. I basically licked the to-go box. I'm sure the rest of their food is amazing. One of my favorite sandwich shops in Boulder. They have a wide menu of items to select from. Plenty of seating inside and out. I tend to get the piglet and a mexi-coke. The only downfall is they are NOT open on Sunday. So, I only get one day to enjoy their delicious food. read more

They put together my salad without using protective gloves! When I told them about it they looked at me like I was crazy and gave me some vague answer. I really wanted to love this place. My husband and I decided to check this place out because so many people gave great reviews to their gluten free bread. I will say I loved the sandwich toppings. If I could eat gluten I am sure this would have been 5 stars for me. However, their gluten free bread is pretty ordinary. It would have been considered good gluten free about five years ago. However, in the current market it isn't very good. The flavor is good but the bread is very crumbly. It falls apart as you are eating it. The texture is grainy and off-putting. I give them props for making it however, if you can't produce something as good as can be bought at the grocery store then you should provide something from another company. I get that this company tries to source a much as possible from local companies but in this case that is no excuse since there are a number of local companies that have great gluten free bread. I don't mean to be well mean but anyone who considers this good gluten free bread hasn't tried much gluten free bread. read more

I love this place! They make a great sandwich. I love when I walk in, I am greeted by name by Matt. I am pretty sure it is his shop, and you can tell by the amount of pride he has for the place. He is always attentive, and usually remembers what I get! I love that Half Acre! Not many places cater to the vegetarian sandwich eater, but Matt did! I'm going to go with four stars, though I think my husband would go with three. We both loved the peppermint brownie we got here (that was 5-star worthy for sure!) but our sandwiches were just OK. They were, however, HUGE... But honestly I'd rather have something that tastes really, really incredible than something that's huge. Anyway, I liked my sandwich (The Tuscan) and my husband liked his enough (The Halfacre, which he got warm). My husband's main complaint was that there were not enough mushrooms on the sandwich (even though it was supposed to be mainly a mushroom sandwich). We both thought his side of sweet potato salad was really good, though. The pickles they put on the side of the meal were really not all that good. I wanted to love mine, since I generally like homemade-ish pickles, but it was weird-tasting & not good. I hate throwing away food, but I did throw away my pickle :(. Anyway, I really want to try the Caprese sandwich here (since I'm a big fan of Caprese sandwiches elsewhere) and I could probably convince my husband to go back, even if all he gets is a brownie. We'll probably re-visit on another trip to Boulder, and would recommend checking this place out... Especially for baked goods! read more

Not sure what is going on at Dish, but I waited 30 minutes for a $9.00 sandwich that was two pieces of bread, three field greens, a slice of tomato, a sliced mushroom and a piece of asparagus you would need a microscope to identfiy. My company has used them for catering boxed lunches for a few years. They need more competition. Customer service is lacking; it feels like they're doing us a favor by honoring our order IF it is placed 48 hours in advance. They will not deliver if there isn't at least 48hrs advance notice. Another thing, If you're using lox (smoked/raw salmon) on your salads, CALL IT SUCH. There is nothing appetizing about being surprised by raw fish on your salad when you're not prepared for it and expecting cooked salmon (Salad boxed lunch w/ raw salmon was $17). Also, I like good lox, especially after living in NYC for the past several years before moving here, but the last few times we've used them, the lox on my sandwich has been fishy, and other colleagues complained about the food being mediocre compared to past experiences, and I concur. read more

Dish is a regular go-to for me. Delicious gourmet food using lots of fresh, sustainably grown, often local ingredients. Pricing is reasonable for the quality of the food and portions are good size... Many sandwiches and salads to choose from. For sandwiches, the turkey with stuffing and cranberry is one of my favorites, also like the BBQ. My husband likes the Tuscan white bean with avo and other veggies. But what I usually get is a few side dishes. There is always a good rotating/seasonal selection of sides with and without meat. They post ingredient information (GF, Veg, Vegan, Dairy Free...). They used to have a glass counter case where you could see all the sides. Now they just have them listed on a board. I liked it better when you could see the sides, but it hasn't changed how delicious they all are. At lunch time it can take a while to move through the line and get your food because it is popular. Highly recommend for carry out or a quick casual bite. read more
