I want to preface this by saying this is the first negative review I have written in my life and I…read moream so distraught by this situation that I am put off by this entire town now. My boyfriend and I booked one of their listings in Long Beach, Washington back in June. After leaving, they texted him saying the maid service had found a pair of shorts, and asked if we wanted to pay a $25 to ship them back to Portland. We immediately accepted the charges through Airbnb ($25) and waited. Weeks passed, and I texted back asking for an update. This went on for months. It is now the end of August. I checked in every couple weeks asking when I should expect the item to be shipped. Finally, after a handful of generic messages saying "we will look into it," I wrote a message expressing that it had been multiple months now and I would like my item shipped. They responded back that they were "unable to locate the item." I wrote back a long message asking for explicit details about how this could have happened and what exactly has happened to my item. A different person texted back that they would look into it and get back to me. Apparently, my item was put in lost & found, and when a staff member went to ship it, it had vanished into thin air! I am not sure how a pair of shorts could have disappeared from a one-room office on this property. They were clearly hoping I would drop it and they would not have to admit their negligence. It seems clear that a staff member decided to take them, and there is nothing they are willing to do about it. What if this had been a high-value or sentimental item? Regardless, this was a vintage clothing item, and I cannot replace them. I am livid and this company is extremely unprofessional. If I knew they would lose or steal my item, I would have driven the few hours to retrieve them.

If I could give a negative number I would. They claimed they take service animals but apparently…read morediscriminate what kind of animals, which is only dog service animals they allow. They wanted to charge me $1,000 for my two service cats that they previously agreed too a week before the stay. They also wanted to charge me $500 for damage fees for a rug and chair that were ruined before we even got there. AVPID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

We recently booked with Vacasa Arizona-- attached is our review of the rental below…read more This is a really nice rental. Modern, clean, well maintained. Stocked very well as far as blankets, kitchen items, soaps, etc. The decor and furnishings felt higher-end and the beds were very comfortable. The master shower is very big! Not to mention, the backyard was absolutely beautiful, the pool was very clean and it just felt so serene. The house was in a great location-- central to almost everything. There weren't any huge negatives, but a few things to note. Dirty sheets were left in the washer (didn't smell good), the carpet is a bit worn, and the shower curtain liner in the smaller bathroom is pretty ripped and needs replaced. Toilet paper was very low-quality as well. Communication was more automated than I'm used to (large company) but the info provided was helpful and I had no issues. I would definitely consider staying at this spacious and centrally-located rental again. We felt it was decently affordable compared to other options nearby.

I liked how they offered lots of little branded aneminites such as shower packs, kitchen packs and hot tub cleaner. The only thing that I didn't care for was the very strict check in/check out times. Check in is at 4 and you get access by text only. Check out is promptly 10 AM! That seems extremely early especially for the prices you are paying. I asked for either an early check in or late check out and was denied which is fine but if checkout were a little later it would've been extremely helpful.

**BUYER BEWARE -- I would strongly recommend staying away from Meredith Properties.**…read more I rent Airbnbs and vacation homes ALL the time, and I do not leave reviews like this lightly. I understand that rental properties are not hotels, things occasionally break, and photos are naturally going to present a property in its best light. But there is a significant difference between that and what we experienced here. First, the photos were almost laughable compared with the actual condition of the property. This was not a matter of flattering angles or professional photography--the reality simply did not live up to what was represented. Multiple advertised amenities were broken or unusable, and Meredith Properties showed remarkably little interest in actually fixing anything. The house had bugs and spiders throughout it, with cobwebs in multiple areas, and the overall level of upkeep was nowhere near what I would expect from a professionally managed vacation rental. The problems continued inside the house. There weren't even enough plates and glasses for the number of guests the property was supposed to accommodate. I actually CUT MY LIP on a broken glass provided in the home. The so-called essentials felt like someone had gone out and purchased an assortment of random, inexpensive items simply so they could technically say the house was stocked, rather than thoughtfully equipping a property for paying guests. But the condition of the house was only half the problem. What made this experience truly unacceptable was the response from Meredith Properties. When we raised legitimate concerns, there was seemingly no urgency or genuine desire to make things right. At one point I realized I was apparently communicating with an AI chatbot rather than even receiving the courtesy of speaking with a person about the problems we were experiencing. For a company entrusted with people's vacations--and charging real money for these properties--that level of customer service is astonishing. The overall message we received was essentially: **we have your money, these are your problems now.** And prospective guests should pay attention to something else: **read the other reviews.** I am clearly not the only guest who has had serious concerns. I wish I had given those reviews considerably more weight before booking. Again, I travel frequently and rent vacation properties all the time. I know the difference between a minor inconvenience and a genuinely bad rental experience. I also know that problems can happen at ANY property. What separates a good management company from a bad one is how they respond when those problems occur. Meredith Properties had multiple opportunities to show us that they cared about their guests and to make this experience right. In my experience, they chose not to. My advice to anyone considering one of their properties is simple: **look very carefully at the reviews, do not assume the photographs accurately represent what you will find when you arrive, and think twice before trusting Meredith Properties with your vacation.** I certainly will not make that mistake again.

Mixed feelings. I'm…read morehandicapped and my mother is an elderly woman with a bad hip, going up the stairs was a killer. The elevator was broken. We stayed at The Brookhaven @ 105 NW 23rd Ave #104 Rockaway Beach OR, 97136 - my sister rented it out for my birthday for approx $200 a night and we stayed 2 nights. The place has great structural appeal, panoramic views from living room and dining room/kitchen. We loved the open floor plan. My sister is an Architect. A 2-bedroom 2 full bathroom setup for 7 adults and 1 dog. 1 Master bedroom with a Queen Bed which my sister and brother in law took. And 1 bedroom with 4 bunk beds with adjacent full bathroom with shower and no tub. Hubby, Mom, brother and I slept in the room of bunk beds. It was hard for mom and I to sit so low. The long hall way to the rooms looks nice, keeping the room doors closed helps to keep the heat in. So, as soon as we called Vacasa to complaint about the heater and hot water issue, they told my sister that we had to use one or the other but not both at the same time. What? Are these the early 1800's when electricity was discovered? It doesn't make sense that a $200 a night place, has an electricity box compromise in this way. The water heater turns OFF when the air heater is Turned ON to warm up the Condo. (????!!!!???) Cold showers in the winter????? Not even in a third world county's villa!!! Totally RETROGRADE. It's difficult to quickly get up in the freezing cold Condo, take a quick cold shower and get out running. And while it may not matter in the summer months, to charge the same price in the winter, is ATROCIOUS!! Fitures look nice, but found out some are just place lightly and fall apart the minute touched. I love the glass door/windows, they can be open like doors or Windows. This is a mixed feelings review, because the negative doesn't outweigh the positive. Meaning, FIX the Negative. This is a WAKE UP call for the management team to do something about it. Do you need me to supply names and #s of Electrician professionals to you, so that you can FIX this matter? I would love to stay here again, but this electrical matter needs to be FIXED and perhaps maybe the elevator too. To management: Please don't bother to respond with a Management Team pathetic email if you are not going to FIX the problem. I don't need your email. While compensation would be nice, it won't fix the problem. YOUR POCKET BOOK needs customers! So, you should think of FIXING the problem. To my Elite and non Elite Yelpers: Would you rent a place in the winter for $200 a night where the electric panel was compromise in such a way that you could ONLY use it EITHER way, to heat the water to take hot showers or to heat the air that warms up the condo?? There is no fireplace, so you depend on body heat and the air heater. So you cannot take a hot bath unless you walk outside the the jacuzzi that is located outside, 4 condos down from 104, you share with the other condos, it's 3 feet high with no handicap access. Meaning you climb in and out, no stairs, no ramp into it. Ok. I am tempted to ask the young snowboarders from next door if their runs to the jacuzzi has anything to do with the cold shower issue. We fell in love with Rockaway Beach and this area of town, so I hope this place is Fixed. Podunk style Condos - have a heater that works and hot water for all guests and all amenities that work, but perhaps not a panoramic view like this, and cost half of the price. There is no VALUE ... Cost for what you get ... when the Basics don't work. So, this place is well OVERPRICED. My friend's dad second home, a million dollars ocean front modern huge house with panoramic views, rents for $350 a night for 6 Master Bedrooms in the Shalishan lodge area, in a locked private drive. While I can't Yelp it because it doesn't rent to the public, I can tell you, it's a dream house. The Brookhaven is a gorgeous 2-bedroom Condo style townhouse, one attached to the other, stairways up to the different apartments, shared hallway entries, etc. It's a great fortress structural building, ready to take on a tsunami or a real World Z war... In comparison, the million dollar house, has more value for the money you pay. It's private, the amenities are private, and the heater and hot water work in unison. Offer and advertise awesomeness, then stick to it, and provide awesomeness. Don't freeze me in the winter, and make me take cold showers! Don't make climb up the stairs when I use a wheelchair. Fix your amenities!!! Make what you charge, a great value.

The gas fireplace…read moredidn't work (no propane), the back porch lights and outlets were out, making it unsafe to use the hot tub or get to the firepit at night. For the price we paid, we expected a safe and functional space. Wouldn't book with them again based on this experience.
