Nice location with direct beach access. This resort has updated condos with a nice sized hot tub and heated pool. The gym area is roomy and has a side room for children. Along with outdoor grills at every condo they have gas grills in the common area near the pool. If you've stayed at Worldmark you know these are apartment style condos and very spacious. The only thing that can spoil a worldmark stay is attending an "owner update" sales presentation so to enjoy your stay avoid all offers no matter how enticing the offer as it's not worth any amount they could pay.

These are amazing rentals, the seminar was worth sitting through! We spent the weekend in a 2 bedroom suite complete with kitchen and living room( which even had a gas fireplace) the glass patio door opened up to a private BBQ and direct access the the pool. They have a game room with ping pong tables and movies you can check out at the front desk. They recommended some local attractions, we took them up on the horseback beach tour. Definitely recommend this place. It's a time share hotel so unless you get invited to attend a seminar, you'll have to buy into the program to stay. We are considering this as a retirement investment since once you buy in you can stay in any of there location for one convenient fee.

We stayed in the newly remodeled section in an ADA room. It was wonderful! Our patio with gas grill was on the exact level as the beach, just a few steps away.

Not our first stay at a Worldmark by Wyndham. We are owners at another resort and traded a week to stay here. Yes, you have to pay for wifi-- but this is common among the Worldmark resorts. If you don't wish to pay for wifi there's a business center downstairs for you to use free of charge. We lucked out and had a partial view from the 4th floor adjacent to the adrift hotel and the pickled fish restaurant. Overall not a bad place but just a few minor things here and there. First of all our door that led to the balcony stuck. You had to use quite a bit of force to get it open (kick it with your foot pretty hard). The bedroom window doesn't open how you would typically think and not very far. Additionally, the bathroom, while quite spacious, was lacking a garbage can and the kitchen had no recycle bin but we had the bag for it...? The kitchen was stocked with a few disposable spices but not many. There are plenty of saucepans but not any sizeable sauté pans. There is one or two and they're small and terribly abused-- luckily we have brought our own. The gas grill on the balcony could be replaced as it shows age and abuse from weather including rust on the grill. This appears to be a work in progress as other units have new grills. Stacked washer/dryer combo in the room is nice. One elevator by the parking lot for ingress and egress makes things take some time but we're not in a hurry. Pop machine was out of order on the first floor and we couldn't find another so we ran to a corner store to get drinks.

September and October are the best days for travelers. Beautiful weather and very few people.

The property feels like a retreat with a lovely atmosphere that feels a world apart from Long Beach despite being so close in proximity to town. We didn't have time to make full use of the pool, sauna, or pickleball courts - but these amenities would be perfect for a rainy day at the coast and when we come back we'll make more time in our schedule to use them. Check-in/check-out was a breeze and staff was very pleasant. They let me borrow a lighter for a birthday cake which was much appreciated! The walk to the beach is very scenic and beautiful in itself. We have new appliances, new countertop and backsplash, new floors, a larger couch, a huge king bed, a walk-in shower with a new vanity, and everything is just stunning. Very well done! From the bottom units, you have a small deck with a bench, and upper units have a balcony. All rooms overlook the dunes, and the higher ones can catch you a glimpse of the ocean. You spend the evening listening to the roar of the waves. It's so relaxing. There's two TVs - you can stream from your device in the bedroom, or watch cable in the living room. You'll have a gas fireplace, a lounge chair, a couch that folds out into a bed with a nice, squishy mattress, and a two person dining table. The staff here have been here a long time, and it's always nice to see a familiar face when we arrive. Shout out to Kevin! Always friendly and helpful. It's about a five minute drive to downtown Long Beach, where you'll find a bakery, an arcade, and lots of shops and restaurants. Don't forget you can even drive on the beach! You'll love it here.

The hotel staff greeted us with a welcome package for our dog, which she was completely obsessed with. Branded tennis ball and everything. The owner and staff gave us great, specific recommendations for places to see during our trip, including fantastic hiking and biking locations. The food at the hotel restaurant was DELICIOUS. The beach, which is right next to the hotel, was wonderfully open, with none of the intensity of Canon Beach (which I also love, but for very different reasons). The pool and saunas were lovely and clean. And we had to go home with multiple bottles from Adrift Distillery. If you're looking for a truly relaxing, fun, romantic getaway, this is it. There's definitely a cool, curated vibe, and the coffee/tea setup in the lobby is a nice touch. I also appreciated the complimentary bikes and the ease of using them. That said, the rooms didn't quite live up to the price point (around $400+ for two weekend nights). The building itself feels older and a bit worn beneath the cosmetic updates. Our room, in particular, showed signs of heavy use -- the bed was noticeably worn and dipped in the middle, and some of the finishes felt a bit cheap or improvised. Noise was also an issue. Despite requesting a top-floor room, we were placed directly under the restaurant, and we could hear footsteps, banging, and general activity until about midnight each night. Soundproofing overall seemed pretty minimal, which made it hard to fully relax. There were also a few small inconveniences -- no hotel phone, no central air, limited trash space, and some quirky (but not very functional) design choices like exposed cable management. The spa had potential but fell short during our visit. One sauna door didn't close properly, another wasn't working at all, and the overall experience felt underwhelming given the atmosphere they're going for. I can see the appeal of this place -- especially for families or those drawn to its aesthetic -- but for the price and volume of guests they accommodate, I expected a bit more attention to detail and upkeep. With some improvements, it could really shine.

The stained glass, antique furniture and fixtures were fascinating to look at. The grounds were very pretty, lots of beautiful plants in bloom. There was booklet in the room speaking of the history being it's the oldest consistantly running hotel in Washington state. It even went in depth about spirits that have some presence but sadly I did not see one. The bed was comfortable, the towels were soft and fresh and parking was a breeze. The reason I am giving 4/5 stars is because the lighting, although pretty..I just couldn't see! Putting my makeup on in the morning was a challenge. We thought it looked like a fun place to stay considering we love all things vintage and staying in a vintage RV sounded like the kind of nostalgia we would appreciate. A few months pass and we decided to book a 3 night trip for our 12th wedding anniversary. We arrived on Saturday afternoon right at check in and we found the staff friendly and attentive. After check in we drove down to our camp site. They leave the doors unlocked after check out/"cleaning" so the key was sitting in the unit. This also means anyone can come into your unit before you even check in. The outside of the RV was, as expected, worn down but that's a part of the charm. Upon entering, we were hit with the smell of mildew/mold and a extremely warm trailer due to the heater being left on and it being late June. We turned off the heater and attempted to open up the windows, but alas they were'nt all fuctioning. Our 3 dogs couldnt even be in the unit without over heating so we set up their playpen outside. Half the flooring was either peeling up or gone all together. The walls had'nt been cleaned and had a film on them. The seating area did'nt fold down into additional bedding (another broken item), the toilet was dirty and still had urine on it and the bathroon walls were peeling. We weren't looking for a 5 star hotel but for the price we were paying per night we expected more. We settled in for the evening and tried to make the most of it and chalk it up to a new experience. The next day, after waking up and taking the dogs for a walk to the beach we decided to relax at the campsite and decided we could set up out tent (other camp sites had tents on them) to add additional living space. As we were lying out the tent in our area a woman approached us. She didn't introduce herself just started making comments about the tent, and the dogs, and the playpen. Again, no introduction, no pleasantries, just came in HOT. My husband tried to deescalate the conversation however the woman kept interrupting him and talking over him. He reached out his hand to introduce himself and thats when she finally paused and offered her name, Mary. She let us know if we wanted to put up a tent we would need to pay an additional $35.00. We explained to her we weren't expecting additional guests and that the tent was meerely for additional outdoor space. Again, she was coming in hot like we were trying to pull a fast one over on her. I explained that no where was I told tents were additional. I was not paying them any additional money due to the price we already paid and the comfort of the unit. Mary contiously spoke to my husband ignoring me all together. She was telling him what to do and how to do it and she came off extremely aggressive. We said we would speak to management and that's when Mary let us know she was the manager but was off duty so we could take it up with another manager. My husband is a POC and Mary presented as white and while the lodging advertised itself as diverse and inclusive we did not have that experience with Mary. My husband asked Mary for some space and it took asking several repeated times for her to finally leave. After she left, we decided this was not a place for us to stay. My husband started packing and I went to let reception know what had happened and that we were checking out. The staff at reception was very accommodating. I told them what had happened and they were confused as to why a tent would be such an issue with Mary. They tried offering additional things for us to stay and I refused. They asked if I wanted to speak to Mary again, and I said no. I did not want to speak to her ever again. The staff said they would talk it over with a manager but I let them know we were definitely leaving. We drove the 2 hours home. On our anniversary with cancelled dinner reservations and hurt in our hearts. Do better. Understand how you come across as a person of privilege when speaking down to a POC. I hope this is a learning experience for Mary. I checked my email today and she refunded our entire amount.

Upon arrival to check-in, I observed one person at the reception desk being helped by the sole staff member, plus several folks hanging out in the lobby. After checking that no one else was waiting, I sat down to wait. They all left and I was the only person waiting. Of course, a white woman strolled right up to the desk from outside just as the other guest left, and instead of telling her I was there first, or even acknowledging me at all, the white staff person just helped her. 2. They say that pets names are on a welcome board when you arrive. My dog's name was not there and the board was tucked away against a wall. 3. I'm traveling alone with a dog, so I unload everything before bringing my dog into the room. After lugging everything to the door, my key cards did not work. When I went back to reception, there was no apology, or anything about accountability. Simply "oh let me fix that." 4. The room says that the TV is equipped with AppleTV, and even has a special button for it. Does not actually work. 5. They say they provided cookies in the lobby between 4-6pm. I checked in just after 4pm and there were none. 6. I took my dog out to sightsee and when we same back, again with my hands full, the key cards did not work again. So, I have to leave my belongings at the door, and run to the lobby with my dog in tow, to get the fixed AGAIN. funny how that happened again. 7. When we did open the door to the room the first few times, the smell of "old lady perfume" was so strong. I asked the front desk if that was intentional and she said it must be a cleaning product. It is way too strong and I can still smell it on day 2, even after airing the room out as much as possible. 8. The shower head is covered with lime, and the spray options do not all fully function due to how clogged the shower head is. 9. The bedding is way too light for the climate. So then you run the heater, and get too hot in the night. 10. The outdated fridge runs loudly at random times in the night. I'm on a long road trip with my dog as we move to Canada, and we've been on the road for 2 weeks and been to 5 states. I decided to splash out on this hotel because I'm a huge Goonies fan, and my dog loves the beach. Overall, I'm disappointed and I'd say this hotel is not worth it at all. I will not stay here again. For this amount of $$$, plus dog fees for me, this value is abysmal.

We always seek out places with kitchens or kitchenettes so we can cook in our unit are won't have to eat out every meal. One slight word of caution, though: these kitchenettes have a microwave and a stove top but no oven; and the refrigerator is pretty small. *The living room couch is also a hideabed, so the rooms technically sleep four each. There is a TV in both the living room and the bedroom. *The view of the bay is NOT a view of a beach, but there are some very positive things about this. First, the nightly rates are reasonable regardless of the time of year. Second, beyond a grassy area in front of the motel are tide flats, which fill up with water twice every 24 hours, at high tide. It's really fun to see the change when you're paying attention. Beyond the tide flats is the man-made Shoalwater Bay Berm, created to save Tokeland from the long term effects of increasingly severe weather events. The tide flats area between the hotel and the berm, that gets filled with water, is called Empire Spit. Google the area's tides for the day(s) you are there and you will know when to look for when the tide flats fill with sea water, as it doesn't stay full for very long. *The hotel is owned by the Shoalwater Bay Tribe and is on their land, as is the Shoalwater Bay Casino (the smallest casino I have ever been in). If you get a Players Club Card from the casino, which you do not have to do any gambling in the casino to get, you can use it to get 10% off your hotel booking. *The hotel has an outdoor pool that is heated, and a hot tub that is protected from the elements by a clear dome. There were no storms the two nights we stayed there, but I bet it would be fun to watch one from that hot tub. There is also a communal kitchen space for larger parties that can be booked for an extra fee. *I have seen other reviews complain about the lack of regular housekeeping, but this was not a big deal to us. And if you need fresh linens or toiletries, all you have to do is ask and the incredibly friendly staff will happily hook you up. In short, Tradewinds on the Bay is a modest place to stay that is also quite the hidden gem. (Video tour of the hotel and our unit that I tried to upload got cut off at 12 seconds, so you can view the whole video here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/machu_picchu/53932930625/in/album-72177720319641764.)
