We stayed from Saturday to Monday for my birthday weekend. Our room was on the third floor, and we parked right in front of the stairs that took us straight up to it. We booked a room with two bedrooms and two bathrooms which were super spacious, clean, and comfy. We loved the ocean and sunset views from the balcony. There's a grill downstairs, a pool, fitness center, and play area. This place is just steps away from the beach, with a mini-mart right across the street which seemed to be closed during our entire stay and a golf course in front. Only downside, no free Wi-Fi, you have to pay if you want to use it. And they have a no pet policy. read more

Checked in and checked out in the same day. Was placed on the first floor, and the layout is very tight. Back slider door when opened has spiderwebs all in the corner, dirty floors in both of the bathrooms, tub had dirt, and sink was just nasty. For using points as a timeshare owner was very disappointed with our experience and atmosphere. Staff is very sweet and one of them had made cotton candy for guests. The staff were the only enjoyable part of this experience for us. read more

The 2nd original TrendWest Worldmark (now by Wyndham) is unassuming at first. However, the condo style One and Two bedroom units are super clean, maintained to WM standards and the location is excellent. This the only "multi-unit" resort style location on this in demand location. The customer service was impeccable, thoughtful, and communicative during a stormy winter visit that included power outages. The multi unit takeover of a classic hotel is not the full resort like their Seaside or Long Beach properties. The local population, through HOA regulations keeps them from expanding. But in typical Worldmark fashion, the property and attention makes this property a great stay one block off the ocean with a view. read more

My family would come here every year when I was a kid and man was this place in need of a renovation. Since Worldmark took over, it looks a lot better. We enjoyed our time there and the room was comfortable. They have Murphy beds instead of their old couch hideaways which was a nice upgrade. They also have tons of board games in the lobby that you can take back to your room. The TVs are nice and they have a great variety of channels. They also have a laundry room, but beware - I washed a load of clothes and it came out of the washer smelling like fish. Whoever used it before me probably washed their clamming gear or something. They also do not provide you with dryer sheets (even though they give you laundry soap) so bring your own. Down sides: you have to walk outside/down a ton of stairs to get to the pool, no cell service (but you can use the room phone for free), no bathroom fans, no view of the ocean from the bottom units, and some of the flooring was obviously worn. When we first came into the room, there were some gross spots on the bathroom floor so the front desk staff came and cleaned it up. There was also a gigantic silverfish in the bedroom bath but that was the one and only I saw the rest of the visit. 5 stars for the staff - they were helpful and the ladies in the morning were really nice. 3 stars for the facility - it's older and needs some upgrades (especially the pool). Better than it used to be, though! read more

We stayed here in early August of this year. It was a lovely site, with a view of the ocean from our second floor room. All of the rooms face the ocean, and all rooms can hear the waves, but I think only the second and third floors can actually see the waves. It is a short walk to a very, very long beach. When we arrived at our room we could tell that they had recently cleaned and it smelled like the light scent of bleach. I appreciate their efforts to keep us safe. We opened the sliding glass door onto the balcony and within a few minutes the bleach scent had dissipated. It was very clean, and very well maintained. With two bathrooms and one bedroom, plus a Murphy bed there was plenty of space for our family of three to spread out at night and in the mornings to get ready for the day. The Murphy bed that folds down from the wall was perfectly comfortable for our teenage daughter. It has a large and comfortable traditional mattress on it. It is nothing like a fold out sofa bed! It is like a platform mattress bed. I am not sure whether it was a double bed or a queen, but it would have easily accommodated two people. It was perfect! The bedroom and living room areas are roomy. Our family of three left the Murphy bed down the entire time and still had room to move around. If you have a larger family, it is easy to put the bed away and move the dining chairs into the living space. The table and chairs on the balcony were a nice place to relax. The gas fireplace was a comforting and gentle addition to the ambiance in the evenings. The staff was very, very responsive to our requests for a simple needs like an extra blanket and toilet paper. they have a swimming pool down the hill along a path and down some stairs, and are working hard to allow guests to use the space. Each room could have the pool to themselves if they wished. The system for reserving the space is to call the front desk at 8:00 in the morning and get your name on the list. (Tip: call a couple of minutes early! Sometimes the pool was completely reserved by 8:03 a.m.!) They cleaned in between each use of the pool. We went twice during our week-long stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Unfortunately amenities like exercise space and the playground are off limits right now and they were not serving any food. But I understand this. We went into town to one of the local grocery stores and bought breakfast foods to prepare in our lovely and well supplied kitchen. They even supplied little spice packets of varying types so that you could make food and season it pretty well! The kitchen has a dishwasher and they provide dish soap. Their laundry room is clean, free, and they supply laundry soap in a basket. Again, for use of the laundry room each room can call and request a time to do laundry. We did run one load of laundry during our stay and it was very nice to have private use of the room one morning. Remember that this facility is WAYYYY out on the peninsula. It is easily 30 minutes north side of the Astoria bridge. If you intend to explore the Washington and Oregon coast, you will have at least 40 minutes of driving to and from the hotel each day. We were fine with that and enjoyed exploring the peninsula each day. The hotel is about 15 min north of the touristy town of Long beach. It is the only hotel this far up on the peninsula. An easy (15 min) drive to tourist shops and restaurants without the noise and bustle of a tourist town. There is WiFi for a daily fee, so we skipped that, but in one teeny corner of our room I could get the tiniest of bars (ATT), so I was able to message family or look up a few bits of info about where to go and what to see. I believe there is ok reception out in the parking lot. We were fine with the opportunity to (mostly) disconnect for the week. All in all, a lovely and relaxing place to disconnect with Facebook and reconnect with family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. read more

Spent a week on the coast at the Surfside Inn. We were a little sceptical at first because our GPS had us driving down this dirt road (J something) but once we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. It is much smaller than the other Worldmark/Windham resorts that we have stayed in. The town of Surfside is almost entirely residential, it's a 10 minute drive to Ocean Park which has groceries, gas and restaurants. The boardwalk and tourist area are in Long Beach, about 15 minutes away. It is a couple blocks to the beach but it is a nice little walk. What really made our entire vacation was Christopher, the customer service manager. He had solutions before we even knew we had problems. Anything from AA batteries to a Phillips head screw driver. He is a treasure and was a great source of knowledge on everything local. He was very sweet with our kids and always listened when they talked to him. for Christopher for the resort. read more

The unit we are in, very nice but one of the few we've been to without a Washer/Dryer. Beautiful view of the Ocean though!! Nice room and just a warning, if you want to be in town, go with the Worldmark Long Beach, that one is in town. This Worldmark is more in a residential area, about 20 miles from downtown Long Beach. read more

First, we'd like to say that the people that run Surfside are amazing....super kind and helpful. No problem there! And, our murphy bed was comfy. But, the property is in need. This is our least favorite WorldMark resort we've stayed in. It's easier for us to list the cons: *They don't have a grill in each unit anymore because of safety codes. Two of the four grills available were broken: one doesn't heat high enough, and the other has a broken temperature gauge. It's super dark where the grills are located, so you can't see if your steak is cooked. *Something is wrong with the water pressure. After one flush of the loud toilet, we couldn't push the handle down again. It wouldn't budge. The water pressure is bad in the shower too. *There's one mobile fan and one ceiling fan in the bedroom. You can't open the window in the bedroom because of noise in the breezeway. *There are no ventilation fans in the bathrooms. *The furniture is sticky. *There is no washer and dryer in the units, only a laundry area available. *There's no pool table, no arcade. They have a tether ball pole, but no tether ball. *Some of our silverware, cups, & plates were dirty. We had to wash them before we used them. There was a huge yucky spot on our refrigerator (see picture). Also, the knives are dull. *The units are small, with small bathrooms. *The pillows smell bad. *The Wi-Fi is weak. There's not good cell service. read more

This place is fine. But it isn't the best hotel there is out there. There is always the downtown area hotels. But since I have just bought an extra property near Surfside, it's hard to give this hotel a bad review. If you HAD to choose somewhere near Surfside. I wouldn't be the end of the world. read more

The hotel itself is nice. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The staff was friendly and accommodating. My only complaint is that if you stay there stay on the third floor. We were on the first floor and there is obviously no sound barrier between the first and second floor. The guest above us were awake until 3:00 am and when they walked around it sounded like the ceiling was going to cave in. Creaking and cracking noises all night long. You could easily hear their conversations through the bathroom vent. When they finally went to sleep we could hear him SNORING like he was in our room. We had to sleep on the Murphy bed in the living room for peace and quiet. Stay on the 3rd. floor for a good nights sleep. read more

So where to begin. I was excited to come to a Worldmark resort, but that was lost when I walked in the door. The bedroom has a tv in it from 1998, all the doors have been repainted 4 to 5 times, carpet has bleach spots, and the range hood was manufactured in the 70's. Beach is at least a mile from this so called resort, and for what I paid, I should have got 2 nights in Vegas. Very dated and cheap looking, not surprised how far it is away from the beach. Not to mention the time share spill they try to give every victim that walks in the door. To bad we drove 2 hours to find this all out. read more

My wife and I are WorldMark Owners and also own a one week deeded timeshare here at the Surfside Inn. This is the first time we have stayed here since our purchase in 2013. The renovation has exceeded our expectations. Everything is brand new and the overall design improvements to the kitchen layout is amazing. The resort definitely meets WorldMark standards. The office staff is extremely friendly and check-in was a breeze. Michael, the concierge is a real gem who knows the secrets of what the area has to offer. The Surfside Inn is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Seattle or Portland, and just relax. read more

This resort is very clean. Especially for an ocean hotel. Of course that could be because it was so far from the beach. It advertises that all rooms face the ocean. This is true and if you get out your binoculars you can see it on a clear day. The floor plan is crazy. The kitchen all the amenities except room for a human being. The only way to describe it is a kitchen in a hallway. Again I emphasize it was very clean with all the needed amenities, just too far from actual ocean. read more
