A Deeply Disappointing Stay - Proceed With Caution What was meant to be a meaningful, celebratory weekend for our family turned into a series of frustrations that left us feeling ignored, disrespected, and thoroughly disheartened. I wouldn't recommend this property to anyone--especially not when there are far better-run hotels and Airbnbs in the area that actually care about their guests' experience. 1. Inflexible and Unaccommodating Staff: We had requested an early check-in, as our daughters were flying in from opposite coasts for a rare and precious family reunion to celebrate both my husband's and my daughter's boyfriend's birthdays. Given that we were also required to check out four hours earlier than usual, we hoped for even the smallest gesture of flexibility. Instead, we were met with robotic, unsympathetic rigidity. No effort was made to work with us or even acknowledge the nature of our request. It felt cold, impersonal, and frankly out of touch with the spirit of hospitality. 2. Misleading Listing - No Central Air Conditioning: The listing makes no mention of the fact that the home lacks central air conditioning. In a region known for warm weather, this is a basic amenity guests reasonably expect--especially when the price point suggests a level of comfort and convenience that simply wasn't delivered. This omission is deceptive at worst, negligent at best. 3. Power Outage - Zero Support or Contingency Plan: Midway through our stay, we experienced a power outage that lasted close to six hours. We were left without lights, appliances, functioning bathrooms, or any kind of communication or guidance from the property managers. There was no offer to assist, no resources shared--just silence. For guests paying premium prices, being left to navigate a blackout with no support is unacceptable. 4. Appalling Customer Service and Disrespectful Communication: Adding insult to injury, my father received an email from a member of the administrative team that was riddled with typos, poorly formatted, and dripping with condescension. Rather than address our concerns with professionalism and respect, the tone was dismissive and patronizing. It was as though they forgot they were in the hospitality industry altogether. Final Verdict: This was by far the most disappointing vacation rental experience we've encountered--and we travel often. The combination of misrepresented amenities, poor communication, inflexible policies, and outright disrespect is inexcusable. If you're considering staying here, I strongly encourage you to look at one of the many hotels or other Airbnbs in the area. You will almost certainly receive better service, clearer communication, and a more hospitable environment elsewhere. This property simply isn't worth the headache.

Would never, ever use Vacasa because they can't get their act together. For over two years they continuously send me marketing crap to use them as a management company to rent out my Airbnb. Problem is, I don't have an Airbnb! No matter how many times I call and speak with a rep or a manager, they keep sending me crap. Finally thought it was resolved and the spam mail started again this time they send to my middle name. With every piece of junk they send, I return to sender so they have to pay return postage. These people are idiots. If they can't get their act together over this simple request, and continue to make errors, why would I ever consider staying at any Airbnb they manage or have them represent me if I wanted to go the Airbnb route? That's rhetorical. I'd never use or recommend them. I'd give zero stars if I could.

Request from property stating they can reschedule my stay.

After posting this review Vacasa perosnallybcalled me and offered a rebook refund. If the condo rebooks, which I expect it will, because it's spring break, they will refund the difference if it ebooks at a lower rate. If it ebooks at a higher rate, they will refund my money. This is what should have happened in the first place. Fix your website so it doesn't falsely state that the requested dates are available to change to when they are not, or then honor the requests. See attached photos where the site responds that the stay can be rescheduled. Work with customers who have medical emergencies. I reserved a condo at Ariel Dunes II Miramar Beach, FL unit 202. My daughter broke her ankle so I reached out to Booking.com and Vacasa to reschedule new dates. My request was denied, even though their website confirmed that the property has availability. The property won't liae money because it is Florida public schools, and large Florida universities spring break, and they. An definitely re-lease the property. They are greedy and want my payment and a 2nd payment from the new vacationers. Bad actors.

    Mold and water damage

We stayed at Turn of River 2F. Do not waste your money or health staying here. This was one of the most disappointing stays I've ever experienced. The photos and description were completely misleading and did not match the actual condition of the property. The overwhelming stench of mold and mildew hit us immediately upon entering and never went away. The company must be aware of the issue as there are room fresheners in every room. There was a full dehumidifier with a dirty filter that needed to be emptied several times. Each closet had Damp Rid hanging full of water. Anyone with asthma or allergies cannot stay here! Our group had to leave and rebook at a hotel the next morning due to swollen eyes, sneezing, and tight chests. While the place may have been "tidied," it was far from clean -- surfaces felt grimy, and the air quality made it hard to relax. It was obvious the unit had not been cleaned recently. The carpet and furniture were stained. The walls in the kitchen and the bedrooms were dirty. The refrigerator had been pulled out from the wall. Basic maintenance was clearly ignored: several lightbulbs were missing, and the toilet constantly ran and often wouldn't flush at all. This level of neglect is unacceptable. Customer service responded quickly with platitudes but did not solve any issues. We were denied early check in for cleaning even though the unit was not freshly cleaned. We were offered a nominal refund ($145) that didn't even cover the cost of the cleaning fee ($230). I would not recommend this property to anyone.

    Blatant lies

Apparently they are liars too. after reaching out to the actual owners they verified that our number of occupants isnt at all an issue. I will never do business with bookings or Vacasa again!

Feces (to the right of the cosmetic bag) left on one of the beds that we slept in!

If I could give Vacasa zero stars for service, I would. It's almost impossible to chat with a live person. Then when you do get a live person, they read from a script and don't care about your issue. We rented a place in Trinidad California that cost $980 for 2 nights! After our first night there, we saw that a rodent had attempted to eat a banana and an apple (in a plastic bag). The rodent left feces all over the kitchen countertop. We were disgusted and immeditely tried to get in touch with a Rep at Vacasa. This endeavor was nothing short of a nightmare (put on hold for a very long time; told to "text" our issue, which we did but we never received a response). When we finally reached a representative, they passed us along to someone else who passed us along to someone else and so on. Nobody at Vacasa wanted to deal with us. For over 1.5 hours we attempted to speak to a live person. I finally spoke to the Supervisor of the individual who manages the rental of our Unit (because he was on vacation). She said that all she could do or would do was refund the "cleaning fee". We insisted that someone at least come to our Unit to clean up the feces and lay some traps. When we returned home that evening, we saw that the "cleaner" had left behind a bag containing the feces/items eaten by the rat on our microwave. There were no traps placed in the Unit. When we went to bed that night, we hoped for the best. The next morning there weren't any droppings on the counter, but...wait for this...there were feces on top of one of the beds that one of us slept in!!! We were beyond disbelief, in addition to being appalled. Surely we weren't the first renters to experience this issue. We got the run around again when trying to speak to someone/anyone at Vacasa. The women with whom I spoke the previous day wouldn't pick up or return my call (and she was a Supervisor!!). I would have thought/expected that VaCasa would do everything in their power to try and appease us! The manager finally called me back and said he was on vacation and would call me when he returned. He didn't call so I texted him. I said at a minimum we wanted 1 night refunded. He said the best he could do was a $285 refund (of the $980 we had paid). Vacasa is a complete joke! They don't care about customer service at all (as seen by all the negative reviews). I'm not sure how they stay in business. Also not sure why ANYONE would work for such a horrible company. If they treat their customers like dirt, I can't imagine how they treat their employees. I believe that any decent company would have comped our stay for dealing with a rodent that left feces on our counter and a bed. Plus a good portion of our time in California was spent trying to speak to someone at Vacasa. A rodent leaving feces is a health issue and we will be notifying the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint.

    Roach

Please save yourself time and money! Vacasa is extremely predatory and does not value guests ! They stole nearly $1000 from my family. We stayed at Paniolo Condominiums in Princeville Kauai and it was filled with mildew, dirt and roaches! We left within 10 minutes of arriving and they would not give us our money back! You cannot reach anyone that actually cares about or knows what is going on! They will not give you their managers phone number and said they "cannot provide you with the contact for their local team" ... it is insane! Anyways, do not use them save yourself the grief and book through a hotel directly or AIR BNB.

The property faces Waterfront Park along SW Naito Parkway at the corner of SW Pine St. I was able to book this brief stay online on 6/26/26. After parking nearby, the perimeter and entrance was clean and staffed with upbeat doormen. I checked in around 530pm Wednesday at the front desk and then was directed to the concierge area where I received a VIP gift, helpful tips and recommendations which was greatly appreciated. I wished I had noted her name - she was a standout with her professional and personable demeanor. I checked out by 845am Friday and it was straightforward. I stayed at a studio unit while reacquainting myself with Portland. After WorldMark/Wyndham stays at Depoe Bay, OR in 2024 and Long Beach, WA in 2025, this was a welcomed improvement. The main lobby was clean with pleasant indoor decor and seating. There's also a mini market, exercise, and laundry facilities on the main level. I appreciated the information kiosk area where one can pick up maps, activity, and destination flyers. Overall a well maintained property from perimeter, entrance, lobby, elevators, and the room I stayed in. Despite that I was within proximity of the elevator, my stay was safe and comfortable. Quiet, respectful guests above, below, and adjacent sides. Good sound proofing with faint traffic noise (just some random fireworks and an early AM train) and light blocking blinds. My studio room had a well appointed bathroom (great shower!), streamlined but well stocked kitchenette, nice modern layout with the furniture, lighting, AC, and flat screen (great viewing of a FIFA World Cup match). I appreciated that the Murphy bed was already pulled down, couch cushions set aside. However, the bed itself was not comfortable. I later found out upon checkout, that a board could have been provided to add more support. Next year, all rooms with this set up will be replaced with new mattresses. There's also limited and oddly placed outlets. Pro tip: there is no onsite parking. Valet parking is $50/day. I ended up using the AirGarage at 95 SW Pine St, which is literally around the corner and across the street from WorldMark PDX. One can book online via airgarage.com or use the QR code or pay station at the corner. I paid $19.50/day with a 65 cents payment processing fee. The night before checkout, I moved my car before midnight and found a street parking spot adjacent to WorldMark PDX. No payment required overnight. I had downloaded the Parking Kitty app and screenshot the specific parking area number. Starting at 8am, parking payment is required. Checkout from WorldMark is 11am. There are various sights, retail businesses, and cafes/bars/restaurants nearby. Folks get around on foot, roller blade/skates, bike, bus, and streetcar, light rail, and car. I did not see much in the way of rentable lime bikes or scooters, or uber lifts. Just exercise common sense and be aware of your surroundings when out and about. The only downside is the internet which was painfully slow especially in the late night hours we stayed in the room. There's also no dead bolt and no way to tell housekeeping you're sleeping so you need to make sure you talk to the front desk if you intend to sleep in. They also don't provide tissues so either bring your own if you have allergies or plan to keep a roll of tp at your bedside. That was a first for me! Signs everywhere tell you to park head in which was odd and some people still didn't listen (not us). I didn't see tickets on any cars so I don't know how strictly they monitor their limited set of spots. I'd stay again if I needed cheaper long term digs by PDX.

The highlight of this hotel is the complimentary breakfast with slight change in menus every single day - sausages to scrambled eggs to potatoes to waffles etc. and the best is coffee, tea and water available in the front lobby all day. The hotel has 24 hr gym and super kids friendly swimming pool but could not use this. The top floor patio was amazing and also the global market grocery store next door. Highly recommended!!

This was an odd stay: at about 9:30 pm, we received a knock on our hotel room door. A man with…read morewalkie-talkie stood beyond the peep hole. I asked if I could help him and he excitedly responded, "Oh! Em, I'm just confirming that this room is occupied." I assured him it was and he scurried off down the hallway talking to someone on his radio. This was before the literal garbage fire. The hotel sits on the edge of less than savory part of town. In fact, our room overlooked a park that is frequented by unhoused people. This, in and of itself, wasn't a problem -- this part of town has several drop in clinics that become gathering points for unhoused people. It became a problem when, at 11 pm, I opened the curtains for one last look at the city, only to be treated by a trashcan in the park outside our window spewing smoke. Just as I picked up the phone to call Guest Services, the thing erupted into flames. There are trees in this park whose trunks are firmly planted in the turf across the street, but whose limbs brush against the hotel, so I wanted to be sure this was resolved before going to bed. When I told guest services about the fire, I was challenge with, "well, is it on hotel property?" I explained it wasn't, but it was just outside of our window, and the front desk staff advised me to call the non emergency line for the fire department. Now, we're from out of town -- thus our needing a hotel to sleep in for the night -- and deferring to the out-of-towners to report a fire close to the hotel seems a bit less than responsible; we don't know street names, or of this is a common enough occurrence with which to bother the fire department. I told the the fire department that I had called the front desk, and that they handed the task of calling off to me, and the dispatcher's response was a sarcastic, "oh, that's convenient for them. Well it looks like someone -- not your hotel -- called the fire in, so the firefighters are already en route." Was this an anomalous chain of very strange events? Maybe. But it's all left us feeling a more than a little uneasy.

I rented from them many times for Many Oregon road trips and can't recommend them enough. I haven't been in Oregon in a while and I miss them actually. There are not many companies where you get a person on the phone or by email instead of a robot anymore, and this place is one of them. What a gem. I will always use their service when I get the chance. Thank you Steve and Norma.

That's because places like Budget rent-a-car have let me rent vehicles in the past by just letting them place a $250 hold on funds in my account, in addition to prepaying my rental. Except this time. For some reason (I think because it's been so long since I had a credit card, that my rating is low now due to no recent credit history) they denied my ability to rent from them. But not until I had already made the reservation and prepaid the charges, weeks before. When I showed up to the rental counter (the day before my family and I were to leave for Disneyland) Budget told us no go! Ugh. Our little 2004 Kia Rio is fine for the occasional grocery shopping trip around town but with no AC, manual steering and some pretty uncomfortable seats, we really didn't want to take our chances in the heat on the grapevine driving down to Cali. We were so distraught and trying to brainstorm options (like asking a friend to take the risk of renting it in their name and letting us use it for the trip -- something we REALLY didn't want to do.) That's when the girls at the Budget counter told us about Steve from Crown Auto Rental. They gave us his number and even encouraged us to call him from their phone (I think they felt sorry for our little one, sitting dejected in the corner of their lobby.) We called Steve and he happened to be close by. He quickly crunched some numbers and came up with several options for us for our trip, no credit card needed. Steve picked us up from Budget and took us back to his office on 105th and NE Sandy. He offered us a mini-van and a Taurus, for just a couple hundred more than our pre-paid Budget reservation (still $200 less than a last minute Budget res at the same time.) He took a $150 hold on funds (instead of Budget's $250) as a deposit on the car and he let us take it out of state (an exception he doesn't normally make.) Basically, Steve and Norma saved our whole vacation (and we hadn't had one in 8 years!) the car was great, ran well and got us to and from our destination in one piece and we didn't have to run around awkwardly asking our friends to put their financial livelihoods on the line for our vacation. These are good people -- with good intentions and a smart business model and I highly recommend them to anyone who has trouble renting from a traditional car company or anyone who likes to support a local business with a heart. I know Crown will be our first call the next time we need a car. I can't say enough good stuff. *Oh! and they promptly refunded the $150 hold once we returned the car in good condition. Awesome experience all around.
