I have been intrigued by the building and this gave me a great reason to go check it out! I am giving this place five stars mainly because of the building itself! It is a great example of historically inspired architecture. It blends in perfectly with the motif and architecture of the historic downtown Grapevine area. The brochures in the visitors center are very organized and cover not only the Grapevine area, but also Fort Worth and Dallas as well. There is a nice working train display in the lobby. Grapevine leans heavily into its railroad history. Right now there is a very large space dedicated to Mayor William D. Tate's Jubilee Celebration of 50 years in office.

One point of clarification: this is the Visitor Center/Convention & Visitors Bureau, not the Grapevine Convention Center. If you're attending a convention or event, the convention center is at 1209 S Main St, Grapevine, TX 76051. This location is best for visitor information, sightseeing tips, and enjoying the exhibits.

The lady at the front desk was welcoming and knowledgeable about the museum. I like the addition of interactive pieces in the museum which made the experience better. They have a souvenir stand at the back and a guessing game. If you win the guessing game you get to choose between two shirts. I got the Roanoake tape measure and a free shirt from the guessing game. All in all it was a lunch break well spent and the ladies working there were lovely. I recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

Best of all, our friends were allowed to participate and expand on their knowledge. All their questions were answered so patiently and the children were allowed to touch certain items and explore. The kindness of all these women blew my mind. They even hugged us without hesitation at the end of our unscheduled tour. Also, we are now in their Facebook page, so Yes, they made us famous. It was on a weekday so parking from the garage was very close walk 3-hour parking limit which is ample to also walk the rest of the Legacy West area if needed. The last review mentioned Plano stealing Californians so I had to comment. Yes please remind them how hot it is in Plano so they'll stay where they are. Heck I'll even allow them to go to Oklahoma.

I'm glad I made the trek They have all kinds of information such as brochures and recreational activities. Hey wait a minute this is why you guys are stealing all of our people from California! If you're really nice you can get some free coffee or water. Well since it was about a million degrees today, I passed on the coffee and opted for the water. When you're there be sure to say hello to the really nice lady, Mary. She is running the operation here and really does a fantastic job. I really felt a warm welcome after talking to her. I hear that Stephanie is also doing a great job on social media. So even though I am mad at Plano for stealing millions of Californians away, I have to admit, this is a nice place to visit. Oh well. I guess I will have to keep on reminding Californians about how hot it gets in Texas.
