After waiting in line at the check-in and going through a metal detector we were directed to a waiting room where a friendly employee explained that there was a mysterious story that you could try to figure out or you could just explore. Then they led us into the room to start exploring at our own pace. It was a really cool experience and full of creatively fun art. It was definitely an out of this world experience. After spending a few hours exploring we briefly visited the souvenir shop. We didn't get anything but they do have a variety of things to purchase. Overall The Real Unreal Meow Wolf is worth a visit if you like hands on experiences with a mysterious story that you can try to figure out while enjoying the creative art work.

Lo and behold, there were even MORE dining options but what instantly caught my eye and held my attention was the "Coca-Cola Around the World Experience." It's a Coca-Cola MUSEUM in DFW airport. I happen to enjoy quirky installations in unexpected places, and this one showcases everything from an interactive photo booth to a curated collection of vintage Coke memorabilia and even a digital archives explorer. I recently came to House of Shine to attend a junk journaling class. The environment was friendly,…read moreinviting and the space was beautiful. Before the class starts, one of the staff will discuss the vision behind House of Shine and ways to get involved. They have a yearly rotating exhibit with interactive activities throughout the space. Amanda the founder of DFW Junk Journaling Club was our instructor. Amanda provided information on junk journaling, showed examples through her own journals, provided supplies and answered any questions we had. The journaling classes are low cost ($10) and they have ample parking available on site. We were encouraged to bring our own supplies for junk journaling which includes receipts, stickers, pictures, cards etc. The class was casual and you could come and go as you pleased. There are meetups throughout the year for those interested in junk journaling discussed on their Instagram page or on linktree. I left the class inspired and look forward to expanding my creativity through journaling. I look forward to attending another journaling class in May.

She told us it was actually her first day working there and I have to say she did a wonderful job making us feel welcome. There's a nice old barn on the property, which we found out is actually available for parties and weddings. What a great venue for a get together! This is a beautifully well-kept place and I recommend it as a nice spot for anyone who wants to visit an old-time Texas homestead.

Highlights for me were the Orson Welles' car, the story of his War of the Worlds radio broadcast, old Bibles, flintlocks, spears, and Hollywood props. When we thought the tour was almost over Stephanie led us into the vault - where many of the more sensitive relics are stored. At one point Glenn Beck even stepped into the vault to say, "Hi." Our tour took 1 hour 45 minutes! It was a wonderful experience.

This is a smaller gallery located in an older house. There are several display cases full of plates, vases, and other standard porcelain items. There are some unique ones with the octopus and this flower sculpture from porcelain which I really liked. There is a section where you can see an old kiln and the process of painting porcelain plates too. The curator was friendly and nice to talk to as well. One of which is tree limbs blocking important street signs, and blocking movement on the sidewalk, which is not only a violation of State law, but a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The tree limbs are also blocking visibility to safely exit the alley, and on to the main street. They keep promising to address the issues, but they have not. All they give is lip service. They just do not care. They harass citizens for ridiculous things, yet they do not take care of the urgent ones.
