One of my sons loves art and couldn't wait to walk around this interactive museum. I thought I was bringing my boys to admire the art and to have a good time, but I too had a very enjoyable experience. We visited on a Thursday, a little after noon. It was not too busy at the time, so we were able to truly enjoy the experience without a crowd of people. When we first walked in, we were surprised to find an entire house behind the door. That was the first of the surprises Meow Wolf held. I will not spoil all of the surprises here, but I must say that we were pleasantly surprised as we went through the exhibit. I could tell a lot of work went into making the various rooms and art in the rooms, and I commend the artists' creativity and downright ingenuity. It is true that everything won't appeal to everyone, and I do not know anyone who likes all music that comes on the radio, all art in a museum, or all books that are in a bookstore. The things that we liked, we savored, and the things that we did not like (which wasn't much), were ignored. As I made my way through some of the exhibits, I felt like a child in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. The colors were so vivid, and the art in some areas just seemed to pop off the wall. My sons love having the ability to touch and interact with the art and not just look at it. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and are already planning our return.

The projectors covered the walls with beautiful images in all three rooms. We opted for the VIP packages and wasted another $370 above and beyond the cost. Thru were pretty lace about monitoring and we would have been much better off. Overall, it was a pretty good experience, visually compelling, a beautiful entry way, a nice gift shop and amazing staff.

I recently came to House of Shine to attend a junk journaling class. The environment was friendly,…read moreinviting and the space was beautiful. Before the class starts, one of the staff will discuss the vision behind House of Shine and ways to get involved. They have a yearly rotating exhibit with interactive activities throughout the space. Amanda the founder of DFW Junk Journaling Club was our instructor. Amanda provided information on junk journaling, showed examples through her own journals, provided supplies and answered any questions we had. The journaling classes are low cost ($10) and they have ample parking available on site. We were encouraged to bring our own supplies for junk journaling which includes receipts, stickers, pictures, cards etc. The class was casual and you could come and go as you pleased. There are meetups throughout the year for those interested in junk journaling discussed on their Instagram page or on linktree. I left the class inspired and look forward to expanding my creativity through journaling. I look forward to attending another journaling class in May.

It's worth a visit when passing the time away waiting for your flight. There are tables and charging stations. It has an interactive photo booth as well as a digital archive. The Max Headroom skateboard lured me in. One of the giant bottles on display weighs in at 2 tons. I think it's the one from Boliva that has Aztec carvings. There have been a few times that my gate has changed-at the last minute of course-and I've almost lost my breath shuttling to the opposite side of the airport to board my plane in time. Now I know why! This, however, was the first time my gate was located in Terminal D. Lo and behold, there were even MORE dining options but what instantly caught my eye and held my attention was the "Coca-Cola Around the World Experience." It's a Coca-Cola MUSEUM in DFW airport. I happen to enjoy quirky installations in unexpected places, and this one showcases everything from an interactive photo booth to a curated collection of vintage Coke memorabilia and even a digital archives explorer. Sure, it's small in comparison to the Dallas Aquarium but that's comparing apples to oranges. They're in different ballparks so just appreciate Sea Life for what it is. There are pockets of areas for the kids to climb through and on. There aren't too many photo opportunities because the whole place is dimly lit. There is an area for kids to color sea life and bring it alive but the projector wasn't working. Our favorite parts were learning facts on the walls and from staff members spread throughout the aquarium. They have an itinerary of shows but we didn't make any of them. If you're looking for an escape from the heat/cold, come check them out. You can even tough a stingray!

There are plenty of parking outside and it's right by the entrance when you walk in. First impression of this aquarium was that everything felt like it was out of place. My company rented the gallery to hold a corporate event in August 2018. Phil, the owner, couldn't have been a more gracious or helpful host. Phil mentioned that they only do 10-12 events per year, but I would highly recommend that you give him a call if you're interested in a beautiful venue for a reception or corporate event. There was also a person handing out free taster frozen whiskey shooters. Pretty kid friendly. I brought my 2 and 4 year old to meet up with another family from out of town with young kids. A little loud during the World Cup, but seating was plentiful on a Thursday night and they had a few kid friendly food options (grilled cheese, pizza, quesadillas, chicken nuggets and fries). Parking was easy as there's a covered parking garage attached to the hotel and I think I only paid $1 for 2 hours of parking. There's also a small water splash pad outside for kids to run through and cool down on a hot summer day. Cool spot.

This is a smaller gallery located in an older house. There are several display cases full of plates, vases, and other standard porcelain items. There is a section where you can see an old kiln and the process of painting porcelain plates too. The curator was friendly and nice to talk to as well. If I recall they do have some classes and teachers that come by and some new kilns in the back room. If you love to learn about older art forms check this place out.
