I came in to the store as this is my regular location for getting my tires serviced. I drive for Uber and a regular expense I have related to hazards is occasionally popping a tire. I've always kept coming back before because of good service but today Tajuan acted very standoffish with me from the get go and kept throwing in my face that I've used the insurance policy a number of times already and wasn't going to help accommodate my problem. The insurance policy is there to cover the tire in case something happens. If the store doesn't have a tire that can fit my car I understand, but if you have a tire but it's a more expensive tire YOU the business do not make the customer eat the cost. The insurance policy is mutt if a customer has to come out of pocket $116.00 like this guy made me pay. Terrible service, and doubt I'll be back. Nicole assisted me today, I accidentally came to this location instead of the other 28th street location. Even though it was my mistake, Nicole accommodated me to enter me into the line up of guest they were already helping. Nicole's customer service was A+, she helped me through the entire process. Made each detail clear, and gave me an estimate time to repair my tire that had a nail in it. Offered me options and thoroughly looked through my previous purchase of tires. Her patience and education she offered me made me confident in my decisions. Especially being a women and entering a male dominant business it gives my anxiety and being talked to with mansplaining is always my concern. I have had other Discount Tire locations with Men employees who have added into that fear. This location each employee have great customer service technique and are all very kind. The guys at Discount Tire in Wyoming were fantastic to work with. I had gotten a flat tire this morning and was able to get in this afternoon with no wait! They advised me on what the best plan of action would be for my vehicle, explained why the flat had occurred, and gave me my options for fixing the problem. Each of them were very helpful and patient as I talked to my dad on the phone to decide what to do. Having family across the state makes it difficult to accomplish tasks such as this, however, the staff here were completely willing to wait for me to get the information I needed. They then quickly and efficiently fixed my car up and I was back on the road! As a side note, they did not have the tires I had initially planned to get but were even willing to let me borrow a tire for the weekend if I had decided to wait for them to order them! I managed to pop a tire and my boyfriend told me this was a good place to go. I knew I needed all new tires in the near future, but didn't have the money entirely and didn't know just how bad. Jaden showed me just how dire it was and that it wouldn't be overly expensive. He showed me a couple options and just how good they are in different weather too. He was super kind and took time to really help me out. I knew I had some issues with my valve stems, turns out 3 were totally not useable. He gave me a great deal since I was getting a new set of 4 tires and knew it wasn't my fault with the valve stems to be him with. NOT HAPPY WITH SERVICE THEY OFFERED AFTER THEY MADE A MISTAKE: I replaced full set of tires. When I noticed two caps and one of my tire rim caps was missing. I returned to the Wyoming, MI location and they immediately put two new chrome caps on my tires (they didn't match and they should have just put all four new one, but I'm not a fussy type customer). They told me they would order a cap. I was patiently waiting but after 4-5 week and having heard nothing I stopped in to find out what was the hold up. The service guy told me nothing has been done on their end "These parts are hard to come by, but if you find on e-bay or purchase yourself we will reimburse you." NOT how I want to spend my time when it was someone else's mistake! So, now I've got to spend my time looking and trying to find a match. I'm just going to take it to the dealer and purchase. I went to the shop in Wyoming and decided to watch what they do to fix a flat tire. First, after they remove the tire, they take a wire brush on a drill and clean the rim and where it mounts to the axle. Then they repair the tire and balance it. They put it back on and use a torque wrench to tighten the lugs to spec. Then they go around and checks the lugs on each tire. And finally they check and top off the air pressure on each tire. I will always do business with a company that goes over and above what they need to do to ensure their customer's safety. And its a free service!! read more

Came in last part of the day [sorry about that]. All 4 tires had seen better days & were always losing pressure. Time to purchase new tires. The salesperson Derrick was easy to work with, and answered all questions. The one thing that could be improved apon is informing the customer up front about the "waste tire disposal fee" a nominal amount, still, it should have been mentioned verbally. Back in 92(?) I needed a valve stem replaced in the right front tire of my wife's 90 Storm GSI. It was Friday of a holiday weekend. I had purchased the set of tires at Goodyear in 28th SW about 3 month previous, so of course that's where I headed. I got there at closing time. The employee told me he couldn't help me because it was Friday and his guys wanted to get going for the holiday weekend. We had campsite reservations for the weekend and needed it fixed. He didn't care. As I was driving home I saw about 5 guys talking in the parking lot at Discount tire. It was after hours but I thought I'd try. I pulled in and the manager came right over. They were all ready to leave and saying their goodbyes for the holiday weekend. I asked if there was any chance they would help me out. "ABSOLUTELY " was his reply. He asked one of the workers to back in and raise a door. 10 minutes later I was in my way. He refused payment and said that he was glad they could help. We were able to make our campsite and enjoy the weekend. Since that day I have never purchased another set of tires or has rotations and balancing done any where else but THAT discount tire. 28th street SW in Wyoming Mi. 90 GSI. 89 Calais, 94 Jimmy, 04 Saturn, 92 Lumina, Cobalt (year?), and now my 21 Silverado needed a flat repair. Not a review just another and my last trip to discount tire co. Second to last mistake they made was not balancing one tire out of four on the set of Toyo terra grapplers I purchased. It was only a $1000 sale why pay attention right? Last mistake was on both our parts. My fault for trusting a passenger car service center w a 1 ton truck, and theirs for taking on more than they can handle. 45 minutes after arriving for a scheduled appt and after I harshly brought that to the managers attention they started. Four out of six tires were routine. Being the first time the rims had come off the truck (newer vehicle) they were tougher than they were able to deal with. I had to take it elsewhere to have the rims and tires removed. 4 hours later, dented rim, A BILL from another shop to stop what they were working on, I got the pleasure of returning home to put my own wheel simulators and lug caps back on I was instructed to take off myself before the would work on the truck? No stars. Don't waste money. 30 years of buying tires worst piece of crap tires ever bought in my life not comparing to Walmart even. Within 7 months all four brand new tires had to be patched plugged and replace two or three times a piece. Normal wear and tear on tires should not only last a month. Sunday my tire went flat in the evening when places were closed, I put a spare tire on and stressed about it all night not knowing what I was going to do for work, because I travel a lot . I looked online for tire places near by and this discount tire came up. I read great reviews about it and decided to check it out. They Opened at 8am. I had to miss the first half to work but I got to discount tire right at 8 am. Surprisingly there was a lot of people waiting to be helped. Immediately when I walked in someone was ready to help me. The staff was very friendly and understanding to the situation. Especially being a first time car owner with all my questions. They talked me through the whole process and gave me the best deal they could. The price wasn't horrible but wasn't cheap. With the job I have it's worth the price, especially with winter around the corner. I want to highlight how wonderful and cheerful the staff was. I think that's important in a workforce like this. Dealing with people who are under stress from car issues and giving a smile while helping with the persons car means more so much! At least for me. I was stressing out and already moody but seeing how well this staff all works together and how polite they all were is awesome. Very happy with my experience. Would come here again. read more

Called for a quote for new tires on my wife's car, got a reasonable quote of $380. I wanted a decent all-season tire priced out the door and that's what I was given or so I thought. When my wife went to purchase the tires,I was at work,they added a warranty and siping that they "failed" to mention in quoting me the price. Adding $100 to the price. What a rip-off. I guess when you call and ask for a price quote its just to get you in the door not an honest estimate of what it will cost. I will have to remember this when I need tires again and will find some establishment that is a little more up front in there pricing. read more
