I was very disappointed with the time it took to get new tires put on my car. I feel that they are always trying to sell you on wipers and new tires. I left my 11 year old son at home and told him I would be gone for maybe an hour. The service person told me it would take 1.5 hours. Now it's been 2.5 hours and my car is still sitting in the parking lot and has not been serviced. My son is starving and freaking out!!!! Bad bad bad customer service!!! This is a great location. The employees are always courteous and they get you in and out super fast. Having an appointment helps to cut down the wait time. Easy experience. Gerry is great. I had to come back after getting my new tires because a sensor had broken and they didn't realize it at first. At my most recent visit, Jose made me feel welcome and reassured. I was concerned my front tires might have a slow leak or nail since their pressure seemed lower. Thankfully, no nails were found, but I received complimentary tire balancing and wheel rotation because I had purchased my tires here. It was such a relief knowing my car is safe to drive. I still have about 5,000 miles before I'll need new tires. They also offer great deals on new tires and showed me a range of price options. What I appreciate most is that they aren't pushy with sales--they are genuinely trustworthy. I've been coming here for years (check out my previous reviews), and that loyalty says a lot. Have had many interactions with this location and highly recommend. Took a nail out of my tire and checked to make sure it wasn't leaking air and sent me on my way free of charge. Check the air routinely when I get a warning on my screen free of charge. we have a bmw with Tpms tire sensors that weren't working right. BMW said it would be $250 to troubleshoot. They diagnosed free of charge...which made me go out of my way to buy the new sensors at bmw parts and bring them with me to get new tires there instead of bmw. They have zero care about their customers, no urgency, you're basically bothering them by giving them your business. Do yourself a favor and find a different location. Unfortunately, wasted my time driving up and in line as they disclosed after the fact that only 2 tires had arrived yesterday (instead of 4 as confirmed by Discount Tires). Adrian should have played it safe and informed me to cancel the appointment ahead of time (24 hours) until all 4 tires were delivered (unless the store sold 2 by mistake as the FedEx and discount tire notifications confirmed 4 as attached). Last but not least, the phone had been ringing off the hook and none of the front office or back office folks were picking it up (saw it going on for 15 minutes while waiting my turn and I am sure it continued when I left) so good luck getting in touch with them if you do get a last minute voice mail (15 min before appointment) and try to call them back. Maybe I was unlucky, maybe they sold 2 tires by mistake? but , it was very frustrating when you took the time to order them a week ago and booked an install ahead of time + proactively followed up the day before to ensure no issues with order. Not to mention drive up and wait in line over 15 minutes for nothing. Not a stellar experience to say the least and would not recommend this place as a result of poor experience. read more

The Discount Tires team at the Solana Beach location is stellar at what they do. Matthew, one of the technicians, noticed an issue with one of my lug studs that prevented one of my wheels from being changed. While it was impossible for him to fix, he provided me with the proper information to deal with it in the most cost effective manner. The very next day I returned to have them reset my TPMS sensors and the manager, Jose, offered me the correct lugs to prevent the same issue from reoccurring in the future. read more

Originally ordered some tires via Amazon, to be deliver to Pep Boys right before a road trip I was planning. Well, that fell through. The tires never got delivered and I never got any notification, or explanation as to why. Using Discount Tire's website, I was able to find this location in Solana Beach that had the exact model & size of tire I wanted. They put a hold on the tires while I drove down. After being greeted, they promptly checked my existing tires using some kind of laser-activated measurement tool and determined 2 of my tires were at end-of-life, and the other two were at mid-life. So I replaced all four. These tires are spectacular, by the way. First time Pirelli user. Discount was able to work on my car right when I got there (~ 8:30am)...didn't even have to wait. They also price-matched the Amazon price which was around $65 cheaper than Discount's price PER TIRE (!). So with all this, there is no reason why I would ever need to go to any other tire dealership in the future. read more

I have been having issues with one of my tires and came in for some air, they were able to immediately diagnose that I had a screw in one of my tires and fixed it for FREE!! I also knew that my front tires were starting to go bald and Matt was able to get me a good deal on two tires. I informed him I needed to be in and out in 40 minutes because I was on my lunch and they finished JUST in time. I'm grateful for their honesty and speedy service. Took to Evans Tire and they were able to do the patch and repair no problem. Discount Tire also claimed all my tires were worn out and needed to be replaced, this too was not accurate. I may never rent from Hertz again, but I will always get my tires from Discount Tire now. Hertz rented me a Model 3 with a leaky tire. If that doesn't boil your blood to begin with, dealing with the ridiculous hold times for their "emergency" roadside assistance meant that I wouldn't get to a repair until 3pm that day. Mondays are Discount Tire's busiest days, but they were able to squeeze me in last minute for the end of the day. I come back at 6pm (closing) and here's where Hertz finally lost all my trust. Discount Tire discovered balding tires below the State limit, which meant that they needed to get Hertz to approve replacing that tire as well to assure the safety of me and my family. That meant waiting on an approval from Hertz that STILL had not gone through. After being on hold for another excruciating hour, turns out their approval offices work on East Coast hours and had gone home for the day leaving me stranded. I thought for sure I would need to pay for this thing out of pocket or go back without a car and lose another day of my vacation. And now here's where Adrian at Discount Tire saved the situation. Not only did he stay way after hours to ensure that this would get finished, he worked with me to find a solution with Hertz to get an approval with another method I could not have gotten to on my own. Once we FINALLY got approval around 8pm, he personally changed out the tires himself with as much skill as any of the experienced techs I saw working that day. On top of that I learned more about tires by chatting with Adrian than I ever did with any other tire company. I would give 6 stars if I could. So I ran over some debris on Hwy 5 and immediately received a low tire pressure warning. I took the next exit and fortunately a Discount Tire was right there. First of all, Roberto was incredibly friendly and efficient. Then, they actually were able to inspect my car AHEAD of the estimated time. And Roberto called with the update and explained everything. Once I approved the work it was done ahead of schedule. My only complaint is that when I arrived to pay for the new tire the person who processed me didn't say that the warrant was an optional upcharge. A couple of weeks ago I replaced my tires at Discount Tire. I made an appointment online. Upon arrival, the staff was extremely efficient and friendly and serviced my vehicle in a very short time.
