I was very disappointed with the time it took to get new tires put on my car. I feel that they are always trying to sell you on wipers and new tires. I left my 11 year old son at home and told him I would be gone for maybe an hour. The service person told me it would take 1.5 hours. Now it's been 2.5 hours and my car is still sitting in the parking lot and has not been serviced. My son is starving and freaking out!!!! Bad bad bad customer service!!! I did not feel heard and my concerns not addressed at all! read more

This is a great location. The employees are always courteous and they get you in and out super fast. Having an appointment helps to cut down the wait time. They do free tire rotations and will fix flats at no cost as well. I heard they are moving to Del Mar soon. Looking forward to checking out the new location! read more

Easy experience. Gerry is great. I had to come back after getting my new tires because a sensor had broken and they didn't realize it at first. But they took me right away and replaced the sensor without charge, and had my car ready in 30 minutes. I always get my new tires here and will keep coming back! read more

Service and customer service is of high caliber. Reliable. Great value and prices. It can get busy, but when you're in a bind there's not much you can do. Always happy to do business here. read more

After a short review period and a few calls, DT compensated for the rim damage. Thank you, DT.

Happy December! Customer service here is consistently excellent! I rarely have to wait long, but I highly recommend scheduling an appointment in advance just to be safe. At my most recent visit, Jose made me feel welcome and reassured. I was concerned my front tires might have a slow leak or nail since their pressure seemed lower. Thankfully, no nails were found, but I received complimentary tire balancing and wheel rotation because I had purchased my tires here. It was such a relief knowing my car is safe to drive. I still have about 5,000 miles before I'll need new tires. They also offer great deals on new tires and showed me a range of price options. What I appreciate most is that they aren't pushy with sales--they are genuinely trustworthy. I've been coming here for years (check out my previous reviews), and that loyalty says a lot. Parking is always available, and the staff are professional, quick, and efficient. Wait times are consistently shorter than expected, and they keep you updated via text. Service is prompt and friendly, and the staff seem to genuinely enjoy working here, which creates a positive and welcoming atmosphere. The waiting area is bright, clean, and open with seating available. They also have restrooms that are easy to access and well-maintained. The owner, Gerry, takes excellent care of his customers and ensures his team is well-trained, so every visit is stress-free. My family and friends also trust this place! I highly recommend them for all your tire and service needs. read more

We were on our way to campland when we popped a tire on our RV. I called to see if they had our tires and they did. They took us right away and replaced our tires within two hours. We were on our way and couldn't be happier for such amazing service!! Highly recommend them if you're in the area. Mind you we are from Orange County and didn't expect such excellent service at the last minute. They didn't disappoint!! Keep up the good work guys! read more

10/10 Review -- Gerry Is the Standard We've been coming to Gerry Gutierrez at the Solana Beach Discount Tire location for years--and every time, without fail, he's knocked it out of the park. From basic rotations to emergency replacements, custom orders, or full set installs--no matter the service request, Gerry has always delivered with speed, professionalism, and zero runaround. He knows exactly what we need and gets it done without wasting our time. The value he provides goes way beyond the price of tires. Gerry gives peace of mind. That kind of consistency is rare--and the reason we've never even considered going anywhere else. He has expedited countless service requests for our vehicles and always ensures the work is top-tier. His attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction is the reason Discount Tire stays ahead of its competition. If you're smart, ask for Gerry. He is the reason this location is an asset to the company--and to every customer who walks through the door. This isn't just tire service. This is relationship-based business done right read more

Discount Tire - The tires I purchased - Tires Near Me - Solana Beach, California

Have had many interactions with this location and highly recommend. Took a nail out of my tire and checked to make sure it wasn't leaking air and sent me on my way free of charge. Check the air routinely when I get a warning on my screen free of charge. we have a bmw with Tpms tire sensors that weren't working right. BMW said it would be $250 to troubleshoot. They diagnosed free of charge...which made me go out of my way to buy the new sensors at bmw parts and bring them with me to get new tires there instead of bmw. Super nice guys that are so helpful. read more

Discount Tire in Del Mar (formerly Solana Beach) is great. Gerry and his team are professional and personable. Today I needed help with a tire -- Gryffin was great with intake and the gentleman managing service provided great updates. I will keep buying my tires there! read more

The entire team were friendly, professional, and most importantly were happy to help me out of a jam at 5pm when they close at 6pm. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Thank you. read more

My story gets worse. Apparently the Discount tire attendant fraudulently charged me for tire insurance I never requested. I've been charged $6.19 monthly for a service I never approved or requested. read more

We have purchased two Method wheel sets and they matched prices found online. Very good value and service. We had new tires put on a truck and they helped with installing a new spacer without charging for the extra work. read more

Chandler in CX, if you want more info you have my contact in the sales order (photo uploaded) and would be happy to discuss further. --------- Appointment got cancelled today while I was waiting in line after confirming with the store yesterday that all tires had arrived and confirmed my appointment over the phone and on the app. Appointment should have been cancelled a day earlier (yesterday). Unfortunately, wasted my time driving up and in line as they disclosed after the fact that only 2 tires had arrived yesterday (instead of 4 as confirmed by Discount Tires). Adrian should have played it safe and informed me to cancel the appointment ahead of time (24 hours) until all 4 tires were delivered (unless the store sold 2 by mistake as the FedEx and discount tire notifications confirmed 4 as attached). Last but not least, the phone had been ringing off the hook and none of the front office or back office folks were picking it up (saw it going on for 15 minutes while waiting my turn and I am sure it continued when I left) so good luck getting in touch with them if you do get a last minute voice mail (15 min before appointment) and try to call them back. Maybe I was unlucky, maybe they sold 2 tires by mistake? but , it was very frustrating when you took the time to order them a week ago and booked an install ahead of time + proactively followed up the day before to ensure no issues with order. Not to mention drive up and wait in line over 15 minutes for nothing. Not a stellar experience to say the least and would not recommend this place as a result of poor experience. read more

I can't say enough good things about the front office staff and also the back area mechanics. Thank you for always doing such a great job on my tires. Thank you for always taking that extra step to make sure I don't have nails in my other tires. Thank you for always being upfront and honest. I appreciate you so much and I'm so thankful that you're so close to me. read more

I've been here at least a few times now, and I don't know why Ive kept coming back. I guess just because of the convenient location. I'll never give a one star review, but this place is pretty close. They have zero care about their customers, no urgency, you're basically bothering them by giving them your business. Do yourself a favor and find a different location. The one that I have had good service is the Pacific Beach one. I'll go out of my way to go there next time. read more

Originally ordered some tires via Amazon, to be deliver to Pep Boys right before a road trip I was planning. Well, that fell through. The tires never got delivered and I never got any notification, or explanation as to why. Using Discount Tire's website, I was able to find this location in Solana Beach that had the exact model & size of tire I wanted. They put a hold on the tires while I drove down. After being greeted, they promptly checked my existing tires using some kind of laser-activated measurement tool and determined 2 of my tires were at end-of-life, and the other two were at mid-life. So I replaced all four. These tires are spectacular, by the way. First time Pirelli user. Discount was able to work on my car right when I got there (~ 8:30am)...didn't even have to wait. They also price-matched the Amazon price which was around $65 cheaper than Discount's price PER TIRE (!). So with all this, there is no reason why I would ever need to go to any other tire dealership in the future. read more

The Discount Tires team at the Solana Beach location is stellar at what they do. Matthew, one of the technicians, noticed an issue with one of my lug studs that prevented one of my wheels from being changed. While it was impossible for him to fix, he provided me with the proper information to deal with it in the most cost effective manner. The very next day I returned to have them reset my TPMS sensors and the manager, Jose, offered me the correct lugs to prevent the same issue from reoccurring in the future. read more

Great service!!! Very friendly and fast. Highly recommended!!! Love their free tire pressure checks too

Great service! The staff was nice and they over delivered on time expectations. They fixed a flat for me in 45 min.

Discount Tire reimbursed me $412. for the repair I had to have done at the Nissan Dealer. They had damaged the tire pressure censor on the rear tire when I purchased new tires from them. I am very impressed they took responsibility and paid up. read more

I have been having issues with one of my tires and came in for some air, they were able to immediately diagnose that I had a screw in one of my tires and fixed it for FREE!! I also knew that my front tires were starting to go bald and Matt was able to get me a good deal on two tires. I informed him I needed to be in and out in 40 minutes because I was on my lunch and they finished JUST in time. I'm grateful for their honesty and speedy service. Everyone I talked to in this establishment was also very responsive and quick. read more

Pulled in just before closing Mathew my sales person took me in immediately. Sold me a set of tires at an amazing price. Drake the installer, installed them faster than a nascar pit. I was in and out no joke in less than 30 minutes. Fast install and fast sale. Great location to visit on your next tire issue. read more

I may never rent from Hertz again, but I will always get my tires from Discount Tire now. Hertz rented me a Model 3 with a leaky tire. If that doesn't boil your blood to begin with, dealing with the ridiculous hold times for their "emergency" roadside assistance meant that I wouldn't get to a repair until 3pm that day. Mondays are Discount Tire's busiest days, but they were able to squeeze me in last minute for the end of the day. I come back at 6pm (closing) and here's where Hertz finally lost all my trust. Discount Tire discovered balding tires below the State limit, which meant that they needed to get Hertz to approve replacing that tire as well to assure the safety of me and my family. That meant waiting on an approval from Hertz that STILL had not gone through. After being on hold for another excruciating hour, turns out their approval offices work on East Coast hours and had gone home for the day leaving me stranded. I thought for sure I would need to pay for this thing out of pocket or go back without a car and lose another day of my vacation. And now here's where Adrian at Discount Tire saved the situation. Not only did he stay way after hours to ensure that this would get finished, he worked with me to find a solution with Hertz to get an approval with another method I could not have gotten to on my own. Once we FINALLY got approval around 8pm, he personally changed out the tires himself with as much skill as any of the experienced techs I saw working that day. On top of that I learned more about tires by chatting with Adrian than I ever did with any other tire company. I would give 6 stars if I could. It was a bad situation getting worse and Adrian went above and beyond to make sure it didn't go that way. Y'all have earned a new loyal customer today. read more

Tesla Model Y tire rotation. They used extreme care, lifted it correctly using the pucks and did not scratch the rims. Highly recommend for any Tesla owners. Shout out to Hugo, Austin, Kyle, and Alonso. read more

Had a small nail in the center of the tire that should've been just pulled and patched; instead, Discount Tire tried to upsell me a whole new tire. Took to Evans Tire and they were able to do the patch and repair no problem. Discount Tire also claimed all my tires were worn out and needed to be replaced, this too was not accurate. Not going back to Discount Tire in Solana Beach again. read more

Wow!! Hands Down the Absolute Best customer service. Ever! My Tire light came on twice on a road trip in 24 Hours and I was frustrated. I found this Discount Tire Shop in San Diego not far from where I was vacationing. I had the good fortune to connect with Adrian who was a total CHAMP. He told me that I needed an unlocking wheel lug nut-- being an almost brand new car owner-- I had no idea where it would be. Adrian searched for it high and low and found!! Totally relieved and he also found the "screw" in my brand new tire in seconds! And then he told me that this service was FREE! I was blown away by Adrian and his kindness. I would give him/Discount Tire a 10 Star review if I could. If you ever need TIRE service-- go see Adrian for AWESOME SERVICE and complete Professionalism. Outstanding Experience! read more

Very quick service, tires are sold at a reasonable price. Great staff, Zack and Gerry helped me out with there thing I needed!

Fantastic as always. Whatever the Discount Tire org is doing, they've got it figured out. Good job Discount Tire at both local and corporate levels. You're all doing it right. read more

have been coming to this tire store location for many years and always received top quality services, especially recently. after purchasing a new set of excellent tires for the truck, I returned for tire rotation service (7/29/25) by appointment (best for short wait); all the techs in the shop work in teams very efficiently; got updated of the progress along the way, showing care for extra wait time and I was very appreciated for safety reasons. the service included tire balancing with rotation request at no charge. this is my go-to store for tires. Greeted by Jose, a gentleman, with excellent assistance and fast process. Great store overall. read more

So I ran over some debris on Hwy 5 and immediately received a low tire pressure warning. I took the next exit and fortunately a Discount Tire was right there. First of all, Roberto was incredibly friendly and efficient. Then, they actually were able to inspect my car AHEAD of the estimated time. And Roberto called with the update and explained everything. Once I approved the work it was done ahead of schedule. My only complaint is that when I arrived to pay for the new tire the person who processed me didn't say that the warrant was an optional upcharge. I was aware of it and asked him to remove it, which he did without discussion. Overall a wonderful experience after a crummy start to the day! read more

A couple of weeks ago I replaced my tires at Discount Tire. I made an appointment online. Upon arrival, the staff was extremely efficient and friendly and serviced my vehicle in a very short time. A couple of days ago, I had the unfortunate experience of getting a flat due to road debris. I returned to Discount Tire for a replacement and had the honor of Hugo as my service agent. He was totally amazing and took care of my issue above and beyond. And again, the job was completed within a very short wait time. Thank you, Hugo and Discount Tire, for your amazing service!!! We've been coming to this location for over a few years now, but it's the last visit that will likely change our plans moving forward. Came a month and a half before this post to get a tire check, after seeing a low pressure warning on my dashboard for one rear tire. I waited a good 20 min as they had a longer line that day. I finally got to the front of the line. This is not the first time I've gotten air via the curbside tire check, so I'm used to the usual procedure: (open car door to see the pressure specs, checks the other tires, then adds air to the one in question, may top off any remaining with lower pressure) But this time the tech said the tires were too worn to add air to. He explains that it's illegal for them to service any tire that's past level 3 worn or worse (balding). He then shows me a menu of tires/prices asking if I want to schedule appointment to get all four tires replaced. Look-- I totally get it and politely told the tech , no thanks but I'll get back to him with a response for appointment. Left with no added air to the tire. FAST FORWARD to today (month and half later) my husband goes in the same curbside tire check line without me realizing during our morning errands. I'm in the passenger side and I tell him that they won't service due to the condition of the tires (per the last tech who turned me down). He insisted we try and get a bit of air to tide us over. Welp-- he gets to the front of line, the tech doesn't check anything accept puts the air in the tire as my husband directed. After a very BRIEF and superficial inspection compared to mine, he just mentions "you might want to get these changed out right away..." WTH?!! So from the last check over a month ago prior, that means tires are even WORSE and should not be serviced whatsoever due to an even greater chance of popping from being walled. I don't know if this is gender bias, or just bad information-- but in any event- same guy gave different service/advice very obviously based on the person at the wheel. Hmmmm.... So I did attempt to reach out to the manager but got assistant manager on site instead, as the manager was away. I let him know what all had happened as I mentioned here. Patrick was pleasant enough, but it sounded very much like the usual, safe "Thank you for your feedback; I'll make sure to bring it up at the next team meeting" He then reminded me that I still needed tires (LOL) to which I said "Yes we do! And we also have some things to consider before returning there." read more
