I originally came into Discount Tire expecting to buy one new tire after several incredibly challenging days dealing with the Tesla dealership, tow trucks, and everything that comes with an unexpected breakdown. After checking my vehicle, Eddie let me know that the tire on the opposite side was also in rough shape and wasn't far from having the same issue. In my mind, I already knew I simply didn't have the money during this season of life to replace a second tire. Embarrassed, I made up a reason why I couldn't do it, even though the reality was I just couldn't afford it. While I was waiting, Eddie walked over with a smile and said, "The guy just came over to me and said, 'Hey, I checked in the back and we have a semi-used tire we're going to throw on the back... for free... so you have two better tires. I just wanted to tell you first.'" After the past few days, and honestly, after the season of life I've been walking through, that simple act of kindness meant more than I can adequately put into words. It gave me hope at a time when I truly needed it. I came here specifically to leave this review because people like Eddie deserve to be recognized and celebrated. His kindness wasn't just great customer service, it was genuine leadership and compassion in action. Management, if you're reading this: get this man on the promotion track. Employees like Eddie don't just create loyal customers; they restore faith in humanity. Thank you, Eddie. I'll never forget what you did for me. read more

Brought in two trailer tires to be replaced. Paid for balancing as part of the $25 install charge - neither tire was balanced. Its on me for not noticing, but what a PAIN to haul the tires or the 5th wheel over to Discount. Not the service i expected. read more

Shoddy TPMS product - constant replacement - Multiple visits over and over. so much time wasted. I wanted to share some feedback about my recent experiences at my local Discount Tire location. The staff there has consistently been professional, courteous, and efficient, every visit, the team has treated me well and gotten me in and out in reasonable time given the circumstances. That said, I have a real concern I think corporate should be aware of. Over the past four visits (roughly one every three months), I've had to replace a tire pressure sensor each time, one for each of my four wheels, finally completing the full set yesterday. In my entire driving history, I had never once needed to replace a TPMS sensor before these visits. Four failures in four consecutive visits, at $60+ each time, is not something I'd call normal wear and tear. Given how quickly each sensor has failed, this really feels like it should fall under warranty rather than being treated as a new, billable repair each time. If four sensors from the same install cycle are failing this consistently, that points to a product or installation issue, not driver behavior or road conditions, and I don't think it's reasonable for me to keep absorbing the cost. Beyond the cost, each visit requires real time out of my work week, and having to return again and again for what feels like a recurring product issue rather than a one-off has been frustrating. I want to be clear: this isn't a complaint about the people who've helped me in-store, they've been great. But it is a reflection on the quality of the sensors being installed, and it's genuinely affected my confidence in continuing to bring my vehicles here for this kind of service. I'd appreciate any insight into whether this is a known issue with a particular sensor batch or brand, and whether there's a warranty path that would cover the cost of these repeated replacements going forward. read more

I've been coming to Discount Tire for over 20 years and I was truly disappointed in this last visit yesterday morning. I didn't get the manager's name but he was bald and stocky. He acted as if he didn't have the time of day for me or any of the other customers. Then as I was leaving I saw another employee get out of his car (New Jersey plates) and throw a lit cigarette right near a bush (you know that's illegal here in California right?). Time to finally take my business elsewhere and by the look of other reviews, I'm not alone. read more

Service is still fantastic here. I chose and purchased my tires as well as scheduled my appointment online. It was fast and easy. On the day of my appointment, I received a text from Discount Tire and via their Journey Tracker app was able to let them know when I was on my way and when I arrived. Once I dropped my car key off, the app also let me know when the car was in the service bay and when the service was completed. This transaction was so simple and streamlined, it allowed me to go to the grocery store just steps away while they worked on my car. My car was finished in just a little over 30 minutes. Now that's what I call stellar service from start to finish. Thanks to the crew at Dicount Tire Encinitas for a job well done! read more

This location inaccurately measured the life of my tire, leading me to believe I needed to replace them all... I came by to get more air in my tires, and was told they measured at a 4, and recommended a total replacement. Today my tires were measured in front of me at the dealer, 7s in the front, 8s in the back. (My car including newer cars measures up to an 11) I always advocated and trusted Discount Tire, perhaps this person at this location was new or trying to make a sale. Either way, I've never had this happen before, and was bummed at how easily someone can be persuaded into something they don't even need yet. I realize it's a business, but Discount has always been honest in the past. Hope they can be better. read more

Sales guys were very helpful (Eddie and Ethan), my BMW vintage M roadster needed new rims, front and back tires had different wheel bases. Although I couldn't get black rims, they suggested alternatives in dark grey alloy. 3-5 day lead time, they called at day 5. Made an appointment to get them installed, 2 hours later, baby had new shiny rims! And at a fraction of the cost of what BMW Carlsbad wanted for $4200 - robbery!! read more

Discount Tire rules! I had a hidden nail in one of my tires that I for the life of me couldn't figure out. Very quickly, they found the very small nail and sent me on my way - with also checking the other tires and doing a tire rotation. I couldn't believe how fast their service was and I was expecting a whole ordeal, but they made it smoother than I could ever imagine. Thank you so much Discount Tire. I had also purchased a four set of tires from them in a whole other state, but it was no worries getting my situation handled. I again I'm in disbelief how seamless the service was - thank you! Highly recommended. read more

Really great service and great team for customer service! Everyone was quick to help and advised me with care.

Prior check-in system. When went to drop off car for previously scheduled appointment. A tech logged me in and then I had to sit for over 25 minutes before taking the keys. They had 3 techs at the counter and several times with no one in line. Very poor customer service. read more

I was very happy with my recent visit to this location. Eddie was available and alert when meeting me for my scheduled appointment. He knew the ins and outs regarding my visit. After buying tires from this location multiple times, I went back in to get the free rotation and they told me that they can no longer service my vehicle. They should've told me that before I bought the tires. No offer for resolution. I then gave them a rating on discount tire site and they called me to addressed it and then chose to remove the rating from their site. Illustrative of their ethics. read more

I got a flat tire while on vacation in Carlsbad CA. Friends suggested Discount tire in Encinitas for a spare tire. Drove there and was able to get a brand new tire in a couple of hours. They have a nice waiting room and the store is right on an outside mall so I went across and did a little shopping while I waited. I was very happy with the service and the product. However, when I got back to Los Angeles I found that the tire they charged me $495 for (Mercedes run flat) would have been $425 at my regular store in LA, Loyola Tire near LAX. Anyway, it is an emergency and Discount Tire served me well. read more

I went in for a patch on my tire. Dez was so sweet and had great customer service! I was in and out as a walk in within the hour. Thank you!

Super good people and service. I woke up to a flat tire on the left rear. Called AAA. They put air in the tire and I drove straight to discount tire. They checked all tires and found a screw lodged in the left rear. Fixed and back on the road at no cost. I'll Be back when I need new tires. read more

Slow as always. These guys overload themselves and take in way too many appointments and lie about the ETA. So whatever time they give you then you need to triple it. If they say done at 10am. Then expect around closing time. During the sale they'll quote you a time they cannot abide by. They scanned your card and now 5 hours have passed and your car isn't even in the bay yet. I believe Corporate have trained each location to mislead the customer like this. Best bet is to drop it off and have them call you. Never wait for your car at Discount. They'll burn up your entire day. read more

Another flat tire fixed at Discount Tire today. No charge as usual. Love these guys. Great service!

I've bought a few sets of tires from discount tire throughout the years. They have always been super helpful and friendly, this store especially. This past week, Junior helped me pick out the best set for my car and driving habits. They have an unbelievably good warrantee that pro rates select tires and saved me a good amount of money this time around. There aren't many businesses that care as much as they do and treat their customers like they are the priority. Wish I could give them a 0. F**K THIS PLACE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. I brought my brand new 2025 Bronco in that I just bought 3 days ago for a nail that was in my tire. Easy fix, is what you expect. NO, sure the tire got fixed, but I left with way bigger problems. My windshield got cracked and the side of my car got scratched. I realized about 5 minutes after driving, I picked up my dad because I am 20 year old girl. When we arrived back to tell them about the damage THEY CAUSED. All that happened was them screaming in my dad's face, demanding they did nothing wrong. Now my broke college ass has to pay for the deductible for my new windshield. They are such assholes here genuinely do not give two fu*ks about other people. HOW ARE YOU GONNA BREAK SOMEONES BRAND NEW CAR WINDSHIELD AND SAY YOU DID NOTHING. Insane, so again please don't go here, you'll end up with more problems than you started... read more

Went in today to just order 4 tires and schedule an install in a few days. (Encinitas location) Waited for 10 minutes on line and then was told that it would be another 15 minutes just to get someone to take my tire order. I expressed to the Manager (I think) that it should not take 25 minutes an a slow Tuesday morning to take a tire order. He suggested that I just order online and I then recommended perhaps he is under staffed and he should hire more people and that this is not reasonable. With all the tire companies in the area, I went to the competitor down the street and quickly orders my 4 tires. I had been a loyal customer for years but no more. I think Discount tire forgot that CUSTOMER SERVICE IS IMPORTANT. read more

The best service I ever had. The price is reasonable and the employees are very much customers oriented.

I just dealt with Don the manager at this location. Needless to say he was not helpful whatsoever. I'm heading to Evan's tire because they seem to know what the heck they're doing. Not only was he rude but when I told him the type of vehicle I had he didn't want to take the time to look up the type of tires I needed because I wasn't driving that vehicle at the time. I asked him can't you just look it up and he said nope you have to know what kind of tires you've got or you have to have your car here. I found that astounding because I was in there several weeks earlier for another vehicle and the sales person looked it up and gave me a quote for several different brands of tires that would fit on my other vehicle. Needless to say Don was not helpful whatsoever. As a result of his lack of help makes me never want to go back to this location again. I stuck my head in the garage and asked an employee who is that guy over there on the far right and he says oh that's Don. I said is the manager around and he said that is the manager. I said that guy is kind of a jerk and the guy said yeah you're right. So I guess the employees feel the same way. I'm out. read more

We've been to a couple of different ones we go to the one in Encinitas because there's a good crew there they all seem diligent and professional.
