The drive through air is awesome for Phoenicians who find their tires constantly needing a little top off and not being able to find a single air station that works or has the gauge on it. This time it was a new problem for me. After buying a used car a few months ago, the tire light came on. I quickly realized that this wasn't going to be easy as the tires were some type of inside mount-the stem is actually on the back of the rim. To top it off, there was a metal cover on the stem that had seized up and wouldn't come off. I was ready to have the tire removed and a new stem or tire out on. Thankfully and happily the manager came out, tried to get it off and ended up coming back with some spray and pliers. He got it off, had the team add air and sent me on my way. It's so rare to have service like this where you don't feel like you're getting scammed. Of course I'll get the next set of tires here when they wear out soon. Sir, you did not have to be that kind to someone who looked like she'd been lightly basted in axle grease, but I appreciate you. They checked my tires and gently broke the news that my tread was basically living on hopes, dreams, and good vibes. I drive what can only be described as a micro machine, which of course means I also have tiny tires, because why make life easy? They didn't have them in stock (totally fair), but somehow still got me safely up and running like absolute magicians. Now, the bonus comedy feature: I drive a manual transmission. Watching the team politely determine who among them possessed the ancient and mystical knowledge of "stick shift operation" was peak entertainment. One brave hero emerged, the same gent who greeted me, successfully piloted my tiny chaos-mobile, and I salute you, Sir Knight of the Clutch. Service was fast, smooth, and honestly impressive. About an hour later, I was back on the road with new tires and restored faith in humanity. I'm genuinely thrilled to have found my new go-to location because I WILL be back soon (I still need two more matching tires, symmetry matters, they tell me). Five stars. Impeccable service. I've been going to this discount tire for years and today left a bad taste in my mouth. I went in for a free rotation, the guy there was nice enough. He walked to my car and scanned the treads of my tires. He said said couldn't do it because it scanned a 1 on one of the front tires. Ok let's get it replaced. He said it all came out to about 300$. I said ok lets do it. It was not until later when all said and done I noticed in the invoice of the text sent to me that he added the "Certificates for refund, replacement" for 41.02 dollars. I came in with a damaged tire, and despite having purchased their full replacement warranty (Certificate for Repair/Replacement) when I bought the tires, the staff refused to honor it. Instead of helping, they tried to charge me $567 for a new tire, acting as if I had no coverage at all. I was very frustrated, but then I went to a different Discount Tire location, and they honored my warranty without any issue. They replaced my tire immediately, and I only had to pay a small fee for a new certificate. First time at this location. Friendly staff. I went in for a tire rotation and got my car 10 mins after estimated. No worries, it was busy. Five stars for customer service and entertainment. Blond guy has patience of a saint. The blond kid (worker) kept trying to explain to the Vietnamese guy (customer) that the sensors won't work because the tires had been swapped. He repeated over and over that the sensors were programmed to work with a specific car, and they are not working on the black Lexus since they were programmed for the silver Lexus. LOL, I understood him after the first 5 mins. I'm pretty sure the guy with the heavy vietnamese accent understood him, too, but he was trying to get around it. Viet dude kept rephrasing his question on how to get it to work, but the funny part was that the blond kid kept using the same words/phrases to explain. I had a good experience here. They gave me all the information I needed in order to choose which tires were best for my car. I had tires that were well over needing to be replaced. They did the service effective and efficiently and I was so grateful. The value was moderate and felt like it was a good price for the type of tires I got for all weather. They also let me now that one of my bolts were damaged by one of their techs so they offered for it to be completely covered by a partner shop that was about 17 mins away from them. Management has changed since the last time I was here and it's a good thing. I think the prior manager was Sergio...his lack of customer service skills and just plain rudeness made this place an unfriendly place that I just couldn't trust. The only reason I came back is that I called other places and they didn't have the tire I needed within a good timeframe. Stopped in due to getting a nail in a tire. They pointed out that I could use a rotation and I recalled they have a good deal on lifetime wheel balances so I decided to buy it to help make sure I'm taking care of my tires. Quoted it would be about an hour. Came back to pick up the car and the store manager (Mike) was checking us out and asked if we'd ever been to the store before. I brought my vehicle in due to a slow tire leak. It turns out that they could not fix my tire due to a previous poor tire repair that was done and a small nail in the tire side wall. I could not get the tire repaired and unfortunately had to purchase a new one. My tire was not in stock but Brett was amazing and he ordered a tire that I needed and was able to get it delivered for the next day, and he even accommodated me by getting me in at 8am due to me having to work a twelve hour scheduled shift. I've always had pretty good service at this location, but be aware that if you do an online order and pre-purchase your tires, they will NOT automatically look at your existing tires and pro-rate them like they do when you come in without having pre-purchased your new tires. I had to have a single tire replaced because the sidewall got damaged by debris in the road. The tire I was replacing was purchased at Discount Tire fairly recently, so it had most of it's tread remaining. Normally when you come in to get a newer tire replaced, they pro-rate the cost based on how much life is left on the tire you are replacing. However, I wanted to make sure they had the correct tire in stock, so I purchased the correct one online through Discount Tire's website and set up an appointment to get it installed. When I went in for my appointment, the manager of the store (who was the person who assisted me) never mentioned anything about pro-rating the current tire. When I asked, he said that when you purchase tires from their online store, they aren't able to see the condition of the current tire to pro-rate. Fair enough, but the car is here now, so maybe do it when the customer shows up rather than just letting them pay full price for a tire that should be pro-rated. Not sure if all the stores have this policy, but this one clearly does, based on the manager's comments. Once I mentioned it he did look at the old tire and pro-rated it, which ended up bringing the cost of the new one down by $130. So if you buy online and are replacing newer tires, make sure you you ask them to pro-rate them when you show up for your appointment. read more
