I scheduled a $35 alignment at 3 pm on a Friday was called 15 minutes later to reschedule for 8 AM the following Saturday, this shows me they're pushing numbers opposed to trying to meet customer satisfaction. Upon arrival. There was a technician filling in for a service advisor. He wrote up my car before he pulled it into the shop. He let me know. He doesn't want to touch it because he's looking at the passenger tire and the driver tire being misaligned. After signing my life away. They pull the car look at it for about 20 minutes. where the service riders are joke about how I need and how everything is rusted and it's gonna take more time than it's necessary sitting in the waiting mind thinks I'm going to get not the end of the world to my surprise. I arrived at Discount Tire in Matteson, IL. at 9:15 am to check my back tire which was low. It was determined I had a nail in the tire and the worker said they would get my car in to repair it. At the time, there was only one car in the stall being repaired, however I was made to wait and wait and wait. The Assistant Manager whose name was Richard was totally uncooperative and had a very bad attitude. By 11 o'clock, I was still waiting and the Asst. Mgr. claimed, with his bad attitude, that the stalls, which were now full, were because of people who had appointments. I asked the manager several times how long it would take as I had several appointments and it was clear that he did not care and by 12:00 pm, I was still waiting. When two of the customers came inside to pay for their repairs, I asked each one whether they had appointments, and both said NO, and however, both were in and out before me. Finally, at 1:05pm, I received my keys and got into my car. But for nearly 4 hours, that Asst. Mgr. (from hell) made me wait to repair one tire. I missed my dentist appointment and a promise to pick up my sister who was being dismissed from the hospital. If this is typical of the treatment of your customers, I will not be returning and going forward, I will patronize Bell Tires. This type of treatment will not be tolerated. Maybe it's good luck, maybe its systemic hiring practices within a franchise, I dont know, but I feel like Discount Tire gets it right everytime. I've had a variety of things done here like the obvious new tires or wheels, but also alignments, flats or patches too. Everytime they communicate clearly, offer a fair price, a reasonable time line and the employees always seem to be in a good mood and willing to help. Tires in the time of COVID: I recently was here having winter tires put on my wife's car. I shopped the price for the tires- this place price matched them, ordered them and mounted them without issue. I would not recommend this sore; this store is unprofessional and unwilling to provide good customer service. They looked at my tire, which has a slow leak, and had my profile information. One of the techs put air in my tire, and set me up with an appointment to come back 2 days later. When I returned, the guy told me that my totes are special order and that if they removed the tire and it needed to be replaced they could not put the tire back on my car. He then said if that is the case, I would need to leave my car at the store until the tire arrived! I was shocked as to why the attendant who saw my tire didn't tell me they'd need to order the tire! I spoke to an assistant manager who told me he would take care of this and speak to his staff to make sure they proceed the transaction correctly and communicate correctly to the customer. I was called today that the tire arrived. I went to the store and asked for the manager to let him know I was there to pick up the tire. A different manager from the gentleman to whom I'd previously spoken, he proceeds to tell me that I had experienced no inconvenience! Totally missing the point that his staff had me come back for a visit where I was told they didn't have a tire for me and that I have to leave my car overnight was a COLOSSAL WASTE OF MY TIME. Had new tires put on and had to come back three times just for them to replace the sensor. The first time was when they broke it putting on the new tires. The second time was because it wasn't reading the pressure in the tire on the back wheel. We were told it would after driving 6,000 miles. It did not. So we took it back up there for a third time because it still was reading the tire pressure. It was at this point I asked for a manager (who was standing right next to the associate) but he did not set in. He continued to let the young man help me--which I felt was quite disrespectful in itself. Needless to say the sensor they put on was "faulty" so he replaced it again. This weekend it was time for new tires so they were top on my list for a place to go for this. I bought my existing tires from the Discount Tires in Oak Forest in 2012. I don't drive as much as the average person because I take the train to work daily. Thus the reason I had my old tires for so many years. After the last cold snap I started to have issues with my tires. I was having to constantly inflate them especially the drivers side front tire. The location in Oak Forest is now closed so I made an appointment at the Matteson location. My appointment was for 11am I believe and I arrived early. I was told that I would be in and out within an hour since I had made an appointment. I don't recall the name of the gentleman who initially greeted me but I believe he was possibly Eastern European. I explained my issue and we went out to take a look at my car. He said I would need new tires for sure as my tires were really old and something was up with the sidewall of the tires. I can't recall the proper terminology he used but he said if I didn't get new tires I could possibly be risking a blowout. He said the tire treads looked good though and joked that I should drive more. I had planned to get new tires or pretty much anticipated that I would need them so that wasn't a shock. The thing I didn't count on was being told that my rims were corroded. The gentleman told me they were corroded without taking off the rims to inspect it. I tried reaching a guy friend of mine to get his opinion but he wasn't available. The DT employee insisted that if I didn't replace the rims I could be risking leaking air from the tires. I was skeptical and concerned about being taken advantage of but I went ahead and agreed to replace the rims. I regret now not waiting and getting a second opinion. I talked to my friend later (2 actually) and it could have been oxidation. That you couldn't necessarily determine the structural integrity of the rim without removing the tire and inspecting it. This wasn't done prior to my being told that I needed knew rims. My car wasn't pulled in to be served until 15 minutes after I arrived but they did have me out within the allotted time frame as promised. BUT they didn't do the job correctly. They put the old rims on the car. The error wasn't discovered until I went to leave. So they had to pull the car back in and put on the new rims. It only took another 10-15 minutes but still that was an extremely careless error. It makes one wonder what kind of other mistakes are being made. I should have just kept the old rims at that point and gotten a refund on the new rims. The rims and tires cost $935. I went with the economical choices since I don't drive as much as most people. I also plan on getting a new car in next couple of years. Historically, I've been happy with the service DT has provided but I can't shake the feeling that something wasn't on the up and up with this visit. I just don't think I needed the rims and the thought of the sales rep possibly taking advantage of me irks me. But it's done now. The rims look good and the tires are fine. I drove them over a hundred miles just the other day. My advice would be to take your time, do your own research and talk to friends and/or mechanics you trust before making a move. I'll still be a loyal DT customer going forward. I'll just let things simmer before taking the plunge going forward. read more

I had an appointment to get my tire changed and they knew which tire I needed because I had my last 3 changed and they were out of the the 4th tire. They ordered my tire , had me come in 2 days later I dropped my car off they called me 20 minutes after I left to say that the tire never arrived and I had to go back and get my car. They called me the next day and said the tire was in I made an appointment for 10:30am Saturday , I just arrived for my appointment and they told me they sold the tire!! Such an inconvenience and terrible structure. My balance is also off on my car from them changing my tote I will never go to this place of business again ! I do not recommend going here and the manager was taking care of me he was no help at all he could care less. read more

I'm updating my review to reflect that DT did make good on all the issues described in my prior reviews. Leaving those up because it's all true but it's sobering to think that sometimes one incompetent or lazy employee can destroy a business' reputation. But anyway, I took the tire with the screw in for repair under road hazard coverage and that seems to be okay and while I was there I had them check the balance on the wheel that mysteriously had no weights before. It does now so this was NOT one of those one in five dozen that needed no weights. It did and does. And upon discussion with the manager they reimbursed me for replacement lug nuts and to replace the broken center hub cap thing. Subsequently I was losing air on a tire and they found some damage which warranted full replacement for which I was covered by the road hazard warranty. They also threw in a new valve stem & TPMS sensor. I had thought the corroded stem would have been replaced as part of the prior service but they don't on the metal ones but they recognized that they had neglected to offer me the option to replace it at the time. So all is well. Hope I have no more tire issues for a long time. read more
