Second location I visited for my brakes, which are constantly squeaking months after I got them. The first location did not do them well and this location tries telling me that they don't hear anything and that some brakes don't go well with some cars. But they put them on, smdh. I called to schedule an inspection like I have done before at this location. The man that answered the phone immediately put me on hold. When he finally got back to me he couldn't even bother to actively LISTEN. His customer service skills were very poor and his attitude was unprofessional. I answered all of his questions to the best of my ability and TRIED to explain that I am NOT a mechanic so I don't know what's wrong. That would be the whole point of the inspection!!!! I have been going to this Firestone for 10+ years & they have always been extremely reliable & responsive with very clear instructions with what's going on with my car. I am especially writing this review because I brought my Jeep in yesterday because my steering wheel was very shaky when driving on the highway while braking. I worked with Kim who was absolutely OUTSTANDING! If I could give Kim 100 stars I would! She explained everything that needed to be done for me to have a safe drive very clearly & was so patient with me! First I'd like to say that my car was accidentally dropped at Firestone by my son. I had told him to go elsewhere, but, as usual, he wasn't listening as he was running out the door. I never wanted to use them again because their prices are outrageous!! I had noticed the brake lines leaking over the weekend and had the car dropped off. First they said they saw no leak and then when I insisted there was a leak, he looked again and went ahead and replaced the brake lines. This is the only thing I asked for, but, was charged for a VEHICLE INSPECTION too! The parts were $80 and the LABOR was $523!! That would mean he had been working on my car for approximately 6 hours based on a $80-$90 labor charge. NO WAY ..... HATE THIS PLACE!!!!!! read more

These guys are whack! I bought tires from them numerous times for multiple cars. I go 15 min before they close and they were all hanging out in the garage. Today was my second visit to this firestone location. My first visit was about a month ago for a wheel alignment and today I came in for a brake inspection. The staff is professional, courteous and they tell you exactly what's going on with your vehicle. If something's fine and doesn't need to be replaced they're honest about it and if something needs to be addressed or fixed they let you know what it is and explain it and break it down so you know what's going on with your vehicle. I'd recommend this firestone and id definitely return for future vehicle services. read more

I do all of my maintenance here, oil changes, alignments, etc. They are quick and priced right, oil change on the Firestone card is less than $25. I buy my tires here too, they will rotate them for free. Every time I get an oil change they rotate the tires for free, not a bad deal. They will typically give you a free estimate on repairs too, or they charge a very cheap amount to look at it. I usually just take that estimate from the dealer and they beat the price. Their brake service is kinda expensive compared to pep boys. I use them strictly for maintenance and estimates, nice people. read more

I've used this location before with my pickup and had no issues at all. Took my explorer in for an oil change. The staff at the front desk were no nice and very welcoming. They were able to get me in earlier than the appointment time available online, which I thought was very accommodating. Took a little over a hour which was fine since there are food options so close. Each mechanic that walked by smiled and greeted me. They gave me recommendations for a new battery with all the details easily available. It was honestly one of the best experiences at a auto shop I've ever had. I've been to local jiffy lubes and felt uncomfortable and taken advantage of but this place was top notch! read more

I had my tire replaced here. When they replaced it, they sent it home with me with a valve leak and a bead leak. We spent all this money to have a tire replaced and they didn't do it right the first time. Ok, no biggie. My husband has been calling to try to get the car back in so they can fix it properly and they keep telling us that they don't have time. Meanwhile I've been driving my car with a leaky tire for the last week. Today my husband took the car in hoping that someone would help...they told him that he could leave the car overnight and they'd try to get to it. He explained that we need the car for both of us to get to work in the morning and the employee there told him "that's not my problem." This is unacceptable customer service! read more

After Pep boys screwed up my appointment I went to Firestone and was surprised to learn a break job at Firestone was less than Pep boys. I arrived about 1:30 in the afternoon and as promised my car was in within a half an hour and out by 6 as promised. Rear breaks and rotors and new tires. Pep boys told me I needed front breaks also which I wonder why seeing they never even took my car into the bay before I was tired of waiting and asked for my key back. Went in at 7 AM one morning to have 2 tires quickly mounted and balanced. Mind you, there was not a soul in the entire place other than regular staff. They wanted me to leave the car there and they may get to it before closing. Heck no. It takes 20 minutes to mount and balance 2 tires. Bing, bang, boom. These techs are lazy! After observing a leak in my Firestone tire for over a month, I sent my wife in to fix the leak. They immediately labeled her as a dumb female that just has low tire pressure. They asked her "Now ma'am, did you just notice that your tire needs air today? Maybe its just the cold weather. Its okay. We can fill your tire up for you." She told them that I have to fill it up every other day at least. After an hour, they said that they could not find the leak and to take it back in there if it happens again. Well, when it does happen again, what will they do different to find the leak? Maybe they should have used the same technique this time so I don't have to go in there for another hour! On top of this incident, every tire rotation takes over an hour. This is with air tools. So, if you buy tires here, be sure to take into account the amount of time it will take to get your warranty fulfilled! Their pricing on alignments are the highest in the area. They are similar to dealership pricing. Their other services are priced higher than other mechanics' shop in the area, but lower than dealership pricing. Still, the time it takes them to perform a service is similar to the time it takes a dealership to perform it (a long time). I suggest going to the Midas down the street. They are cheaper on everything, faster, and more reliable in my opinion. read more

My family and I have been going to Firestone for a couple of years with our cars. We have had great experiences when Paddy O'Connell and Leroy Alvarez were helping us. They always made us feel as if they were working with us to better our cars as opposed to using our cars for their personal profit. This has all changed in the last couple of weeks with a new manager. I don't even know his name. I have never been treated so poorly. It started last week when I needed my headlight and tail light changed. The cost was $75. When I questioned this high cost for lights, the new manager assured me that they gave me "friends and family" discount. Today - the same headlight went out. I was told that it would cost me another $100 for a "diagnostic" test to look at the same $75 headlight that they replaced last week. Now, I may not be a mechanic, but I am not a fool. Never again - Firestone has lost my business. . I will take my cars to an honest mechanic. read more

Fantastic customer service! Let me start by saying I live closer to the Mokena Firestone and usually go there, but was in a bind and the Mokena store was too busy to fit me in. I called the Tinley location and was pleasantly surprised that it was no issue to get me in right away and the man on the phone was so nice and professional. Every person I spoke to was very helpful and the job was done faster than the woman who checked me in estimated! They even ran to another store to get me a tire! Brought my car to them in Feb. 2015 to have my steering wheel tightened. When the finished they forgot to put connect the bright light switch back. They said next time we'll fix it. Brought it in two weeks ago to change oil and fix lights and I get "that tech is on vacation till mid June" I told them I was driving to Florida and that won't do. They said we'll have Ed on Mgr. call you. Never did. A week ago needed a new tire on my other car and spoke to Ed and he told me to bring it in today 5-27 so he could get it done he said me might need a few days. Why, as a manager should you not plan to fix this instead of have a car sit for days you had two weeks to plan for this. So today I saw the dumbfounded look on Ed's face when I told him it would be done TODAY and not any later and then Ed went into his song and dance about how they needed to have me talk to his master tech to see if this could be done. What is Firestone paying Ed for if I have to do all the leg work. To top this all off last week my tire that was insured they tried to charge me full price Ed took care of me on that one too. My 87 year old mother took her 16 year old car with 175,000 miles on it to Firestone because she was concerned about the brakes. After an inspection, they strongly recommended she get a complete brake job as well as suggesting new tires for a total bill of $1900. Not being able to look at the car myself because I live out of state and taking into consideration the age of the car, I suggested she get another estimate. Perhaps she didn't need to spend quite that much money on such a old car. She was shocked when the second mechanic showed her that the floorboard on the passenger side was rusted through and that the frame of the car was rusted so badly that he refused to work on it. He advised that the car was not worth putting any money into and was approaching being unsafe to drive and therefore should not be driven any more than absolutely necessary. Obviously Firestone was more interested in making money than the safety and well being of my mother. Shame on them! read more

I have used this place for tires and tire work for the past decade. The guys are honest, although they will under the auspices of an inspection, suggest many things you do not need at the moment. But there is no selling pressure at all. Tires have lifetime balancing and rotation and they tend to get you in and out. This is a place that you can trust. read more
