They price gouged me. Very disappointed in this location. I have been using Discount Tire for at least 30 years. I was driving through Michigan on Highway 94 doing about 60 and hit a pothole the size of a watermelon. Both of my left side tires went flat immediately and my right front rim was cracked. I needed to get all this resolved so I could reach my destination before dark (not the best driver in the dark). I found a couple of tires at another shop (I'm from out of state and didn't know there was a Discount Tire in Jackson MI). When that other shop didn't have the rim available, I started googling and found this Discount Tire. I called them and confirmed they did have a rim that would fit my car. They knew my story about the pothole, etc. and that the other shop would be putting on the tires and I was time constrained so would just pick up the rim and take it to the other shop. They had the invoice waiting for me when I got there so I whipped out my credit card, paid for the rim, they gave me the receipt in the paper folder, put the rim (and apparently a box of lug nuts) in the car and off I drove. When I got back to the other shop, they asked me if I wanted to use the new lug nuts so I said yes. Made it to my destination and everything with my car was great. Fast forward a couple of days when I finally made it to my final destination. Looking at the Discount Tire receipt, I see they charged me $51.00, yes $51.00 for the box of lug nuts and $22.00 for "Installation & Life of the tire maintenance" I did not even buy a tire. I know I should have checked the prices on the invoice before I paid so this loss of $73 is partially of my doing, however, I hold them at least 50% responsible because they took advantage of the situation I was in. BRIAN SENIOR MANAGER IS A LAZY BUM! Brought in a single trailer tire, by itself that I got from them that was flat. I asked to have it fixed, they said they couldn't get it fixed til the afternoon, but I was in a time crunch so I said no worries. I asked to at least put air in the tire so I could see where the leak was coming from and he said no that he had to do it, so I asked him if he could put air in it really quick. He said no that I would have to check in my tire. They say they do free air fill ups, and it takes a minute to put air in a tire. Brian was not willing to accommodate the customer and didn't want to argue and instead wanted to sit behind his desk doing nothing while no one was even in the waiting room. So I left. Had to get a tire in a pinch. Had a flat, running on a donut during the heart of winter. Discount prices were extremely reasonable. I had over a 2 hour wait which was unfortunate but for a walk-in I was appreciative to get in the same day. The staff inspected all my tires and explained all my tires conditions to me. Also reviewed the quality of tire I had along with my options moving forward for a replacement. The wait was tedious but worthwhile in the end. The staff not only did the replacement but checked all my tires pressures and topped off what was needed, spare tire included. This has been the best most professional and friendly experience I've had with ANY auto service and I 100% intend to return as well as reccomend. read more

I was in Michigan from out of town and needed to leave within the hour to make my flight. I called this location to see if they could squeeze me in when my tire pressure sign came on and one of my tires was really low. They said that they would try their best. Once I got there they greeted me with friendly faces and miles. They went above and beyond to help me out and make sure that I could get out of town to catch my flight. Not only did they go above and beyond but the services that they gave me were free! I cannot rave about this location enough. They got me in and out in less than an hour! read more

I wanted to give this Discount Tire location 5 stars since they really stepped up and helped my company succeed "big time" during an event I was running at the Speedway. I needed some tires ASAP to drift and basically destroy for "HOT LAPS" in the Lexus RC F and GS F. The OEM tires are very expensive and Shawn helped me find an alternative brand and stay within my budget. His professionalism was second to none. I have been in the auto industry for 20+ years on a corporate level and was extremely impressed with his knowledge and willing to go over and beyond the normal scope of work. Always constant communication from Shawn who also put Jacob on the task of getting the work done. Jacob had around 19 tires to swap and was spot on making sure we where handled at our event. These guys are nothing but professional. I have purchased 20 tires from them in the past year and a half for all my vehicles and they have always been knowledgable, helpful, and have a sense of urgency. Their appointments have always been on time and their timeliness has been accurate every time. They are upfront with all costs and aren't pushy when it comes to up sells. Any available rebate they have been transparent with and very helpful with the reimbursement procedures. They even drove me back to work and then picked me up when my vehicle was done, which is unexpected as they aren't paid commission. I make sure to tip them and I've also bought the entire staff donuts from across the street. These days it's hard to find knowledgable staff with good customer service, and this is exactly what this location has. I've come to this DT store for over 30 years for tires. Now about 10 years ago I purchased four new tires, mounted, balanced and installed and then I took off for North Carolina. When I got to my destination I had the local Discount Tire store look at the tires due to some vibration I was feeling. None of the four tires were balanced correctly. They fixed it and all was good. Fast forward to a week ago when I had four new tires mounted and balanced on my current vehicle. More vibration so this time and since I figured a balance issue again, I stopped at the dealership and sure enough, 3 out of the 4 tires were not balanced properly. I paid to have it done properly and I am not longer a customer of Discount Tire. I do not recommend this store. Very disappointed. read more

I cannot recommend the guys here enough. My husband needed new rims and had gotten some new tires from a friend but were a bit bigger (35's instead of 33's). We had a lot of questions on how to make this work and Brian (Eminem with glasses) was incredibly helpful from the first phone call. He not only helped to pick rims that would look good on the truck but recommended a local company who could install the lift and answer technical questions (Backspacing + offset) and when it was clear that I was lost he called them directly to make sure what we were ordering was correct. When the rims arrived (along with the nuts) my husband had gotten off early the same day which is a rare occurrence so he could bring the tires up to be mounted. Brian told us to come on up but forewarned us there would be a bit of a wait. We didn't mind the wait as every single person we've encountered at this location is so friendly and have great senses of humor! AWESOME! Best experience ever buying tires today at Discount Tire. The place was packed and it was about two hours or so before closing time when I came in. I was immediately greeted when I walked in and only had to wait a short time before Russell, an employee, helped me pick out tires. I told him my needs for the tires and my budget. He found me a 90,000 mile tire within my budget and warranty on top of that. Im very thankful and pleased that he took the time to listen to what I needed and what my concerns were with the different tires we had compared even though the store was very busy. Great experience as well at this Discount Tire store! Had six new Michelins installed on our motorhome and these folks were a delight to deal with. Joe helped us set up the appointment and Nathan facilitated the work once we arrived. They were like a NASCAR pit crew putting a team of technicians on the job and had us out of there in about 90 minutes. I am fussy about who works on my vehicles and do most of my work myself, but I would go back to these folks in a heartbeat. Very careful and respectful with our vehicle. On the way to a wedding in Kalamazoo our tire got cut and starting loosing air at a fast rate. I pulled in to the Jackson, Michigan, store, and the service manager, Kris Clow, listened to my story, then went into action. Brought my truck in for a simple tire rotation it's called a fancy tire rotation because I have both sets complete with rims and tires there one job was to change my tires I waited an hour and 45 minutes with an appointment then they broke myTruck bed cover on a pristine 2004 GMC sierra they broke the metal clamp trying to put my old tires back in my truck bed. Had to go back up there to retrieve my fancy Lugnuts that they forgot to give me brought it to their attention what they did to my cover he basically called me a liar saying that his guys didn't do it. Even though it was the same guy complementing me on how well the truck is been taken care of from the day before . The complete ass hat acted like I was making the story up.
